REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

I have been an avid fan of VL Locey for a long time, and the New York Nightwings collection is as superb as the rest of her books.

But, if you think this series is just about hockey players, think again.

*****************************************************************
In Book One, On Broadway, we meet Riley, a hockey player, and Rocket, who is homeless and used to be a prostitute. Riley was in awe of Rocket the first time he sees him and goes on a mission to find him. He was attracted to the young man, as well as impressed with his hockey skills.

Once Riley finds him, their lives are forever changed. Riley wants to help Rocket, who struggles with accepting help. Their story is beautifully written, developed at a great pace, and contain a whole lot of heat!

We get to follow them as their relationship develops, grows and struggles. And don't forget, Riley is a closeted hockey player. Will he ever be able to come out?

I can't imagine anyone reading this book and not falling for these two men! They are both wonderful, kind, caring and so darn perfect for each other.

*********************************************************************************

Book Two, Rookie Moves, follows Riley and Rocket, now called by his real name, Keiffer. We follow along with them as their relationship gets more serious and grows stronger.

Riley is now out of the closet, and has to introduce Keiffer to his family and his teammates.

Riley has been planning on helping Keiffer to get into college, where he can play hockey. But, somewhere along the line, Keiffer's plans change a little.

I am still in awe of the depth of Riley's love for Keiffer. He immediately sees something special in this young man and will do absolutely anything for him. As much as this seems crazy, it is written so well and just feels so darn right.

In this book, we are introduced to Keiffer's original savior, Tommy, who showed him the ropes of surviving the streets. They are currently world's apart, but are still as close as ever, which is inspiring and impressive. They set out to help the other homeless kids in their area who have no one looking out for them, which is so beautiful to see.

*********************************************************************************

Book 3, Transitions picks up where Book 2 leaves off, but tells us Tommy's story. And what a story it is!

Tommy is just someone who you can't help but to love. He's now helping run a LGBT shelter with Keiffer and Riley. But, his life changes when he meets Vincent, a soon to be retired hockey player. Vincent is older, sexy and very attracted to Tommy.

What follows is a wonderful relationship that develops, with both men needing to break through the other's walls. Tommy is struggling, big time, to trust that anyone would ever be there for him long term. But that is exactly what Vincent wants and he has to prove himself to Tommy.

As a fantastic addition to Tommy and Vincent's story, they meet another young runaway who they want to help, but they will certainly have to fight to earn his trust.

********************************************************************************

All three stories are beautifully written, with compelling characters who have been well developed. We are able to laugh with them, cry with them and swoon with them. All three stories delve deep into the world of homeless LGBT teens and the need to help them.

I am elated to have found this series and highly recommend it! VL Locey perfectly entwines her love of hot hockey players with an ambitious look into the LGBT homeless community. And she has a success on her hands!

V.L. Locey loves worn jeans, yoga, belly laughs, Dr. Who, Torchwood, walking, reading and writing lusty tales, Greek mythology, the New York Rangers, comic books, and coffee. (Not necessarily in that order.) She shares her life with her husband, her daughter, one dog, two cats, two Jersey steers and a flock of assorted domestic fowl.

When not writing lusty tales, she can be found enjoying her day with her menagerie in the rolling hills of Pennsylvania with a cup of fresh java in hand.
