RELEASE BLITZ, EXCERPT, GIVEAWAY & REVIEW - Smoke Signals (Perspective #3) by B. Harmony

Smoke Signals by B. Harmony

Smoke Signals (1)

A Perspective Series, Book 3

Dylan

As the new neighbor of the Burning Hills Fire Department, I try to win over the hunky firefighters with my tasty baking skills. Instead, I got the surprise of a lifetime.

I may be obsessed with the happily ever afters between the pages of my favorite books, too bad they never prepared me for what comes after a one-night stand.

Even I’m not dumb enough to fall for someone who calls me “kid”, right?

Shane

As Fire Captain of Burning Hills Fire Department, I try to keep my flame from burning too bright.

He was supposed to be a one-night stand, not the new resident of the little blue house on the corner.

He too young, too out, and too risky.

There’s absolutely no way I’m jeopardizing the life I built for myself on some kid.

Smoke Signals is the third and final book in the Perspective Series. A dual POV, age-gap MM romance with out-for-you themes, an avid romance reader, a sexy as sin Fire Captain, and the return of some of your favorite meddlesome characters. Although this series may be read as a standalone, the series is best enjoyed in order.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Smoke Signals is a wonderful romance by B Harmony. Part of the Perspective series, it's easily read as a standalone.

This one starts with a discreet hook up for Dylan and Shane, only for the men to end up in close proximity later on. Cue the fun!

Shane's a closeted fire chief who's shocked and terrified when his hot hookup shows up in town.

I love the awkwardness and embarrassment that follows. Poor Shane is closeted and doesn't want anyone knowing about his night with Dylan. You have to feel for the man. He's not being mean to be a jerk, but to cover his own ass.

But, as one would expect, things start to get easier for the two and eventually the walls are dropped. I love the way everything develops for the two. They make a great couple, with a fantastic dynamic.

This is a story with a closeted fireman trying to deal with his sexuality. It's a story with plenty of sweetness and heart. There's a great combination of steamy and swoony moments as well.

I love the author's writing style. Written in alternating first person pov, the men fully come alive, with every moment and emotion fully felt by the reader.

As usual, the author infuses plenty of humor throughout. Oh my god, the sugar high had me in stitches. So funny. I am still giggling about Wednesday and every moment of his in the book. He is pure entertainment.

Smoke Signals is a fabulous OFY romance. I adore every moment of this B Harmony tale. These men are sweet and sexy, and well worth a read.

SS Teaser 2

“I know damn well you don’t think you’re sneaking in here like that without an explanation.” The sidelight in our hotel room flicks on, and I’m greeted with the sight of a shirtless Ev and his Teddy Bear, aka boyfriend Damon, sitting against the headboard. They’re both staring at me with a stern expression I thought only my parents had perfected.

Giving up the pretense of slipping in silently and unnoticed, I drop my shoes just inside the closed door and walk over to the empty bed.

“Sorry, Daddy.” I roll my eyes and toss my keys and wallet onto the side table.

“And where have you been, young man?” Damon joins in.

“Oh, for the love of Peter Pan, leave me alone. I’m a grown adult. I don't need to answer to either of you.” I strip off my jeans and shirt, leaving behind my briefs, and crawl under the cool sheets. “The least you could do is say thank you for giving you space and privacy to do things I don’t need to know the details of.”

“Umm…no.” Ev shakes his head. “I can smell the cum on you. Spill.”

Damon quirks his head to the side and sniffs the air. “Is that what that is?”

They’re ridiculous. I know darn well they don’t smell anything. I cleaned up after messing around with Not-Gideon, thank you very much. At the most, they smell the cheap scent of the bar soap from the motel shower.

My phone finally pinged with the all-clear sometime around midnight, but I didn’t leave the bed until closer to two-ish. Who can blame me? Fake name or not, Not-Gideon could throw it down. I’m shocked neither Damon nor Ev commented on my penguin walk across the floor. Three rounds with the hulk of a man—something I’ll definitely be feeling for a few days—left me with a bit of a waddle.

“Holy shit. Do you see that smile?” Ev points out.

“Oh, leave me alone.”

“Nope. I gotta live vicariously through you. I’m all cuffed up these days.”

The B-Side (1)

A Perspective Series, Book 1

Will we have our own love song, or will this just be another broken-hearted ballad?

 Chance

When I read the roommate wanted ad, I thought my sister was encouraging me to live with an insane person.

Turns out, he isn’t insane, just sexy and one-hundred percent my type. Living with him will be the ultimate test of my self-control.

When the combination of our love of music and my overwhelming need to take care of him meets jealousy, sparks fly.

His heart may be damaged, but nothing is beyond repair.

 Tyler

A sunny personality and punny t-shirts are nothing more than a shield protecting my heart, damaged by those who were meant to love me most.

Risking the tattered shreds on my new—straight—roommate is the last thing I should do.

Developing a friendship is one thing, falling in love is another.

When it turns out my roommate is not as straight as I once thought, I have to decide if this is one playlist I should listen to.

The B-Side is Book 1 in the Perspective series. A dual POV, low-angst, roommates-to-lovers, MM Romance novel. Featuring punny t-shirts for every occasion, killer playlists, meddling family and friends, and a happily-ever-after. Although this may be read as a standalone, the series is best enjoyed in order.

Paper Airplanes (1)

A Perspective Series, Book 2

Damon

The silver screen has always been my gold standard of romance.

But sometimes you just need a change of pace.

Surely even I can handle a few months of casual fun without falling head over heels.

I’ll never know unless I push the envelope.

Rhett

A rolling stone gathers no moss.

A quick job closer to home and then I’m out of here.

I have no intention of letting anyone clip my wings.

With the equivalent of Fort Knox around my heart, not even a sexy bear can tear it down, right?

Paper Airplanes is book 2 in the Perspective Series. A dual POV story featuring two men who most definitely do not understand how to navigate casual relationships, schoolyard forms of communication, meddling friends and family, a golden ball of fluff with a completely legitimate name, and a guaranteed HEA. Although this may be read as a standalone, the series is best enjoyed in order.

Diamond Dreams, Book 1

The call never came.

So, I did what any major league hopeful reject would do: I went to the bar to escape my reality.

When I locked gazes with a pair of gorgeous blue eyes, I knew the night was going to be anything but normal.

Especially since I’d never been with a man.

One night of passion left me questioning everything. It was supposed to be a random hookup but when I walked into my summer school course there he was, standing at the front of the room.

My professor.

Will Monroe catch me, or will he strike out?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Catching Kalen is the first book in the Diamond Dreams series by Maya Nicole and Britt Andrews.

It took me a little while to get into this one. I'm not always a fan of one night, first time gay, hook ups. But, I'm thrilled I kept reading.

Obviously, there's something special about Monroe. And Kalen feels it immediately.

Unfortunately, as strong as the chemistry is between them, their relationship is forbidden. Yes, after the hookup Kalen walks into Monroe's classroom.

And, damn, I enjoy everything that follows.

These two are fabulous together. Their connection is intense, and the sex between them is steamy. They cannot deny their feelings, no matter how hard they try.

Their relationship has plenty of up and downs that make things even harder for the two.

Their story is one of bisexual awakening, or possibly a gay awakening. The sex is amazing. And the love between the two is spectacular.

It's a long, hard fought road for these two, but they are definitely going to be stronger as a result.

The writing is great, with a story that's easy and fun to follow. The pace is great and the twists and turns add tremendously to the entertainment.

Overall, it's a delightful combination of sports, teacher/student, age gap, controlling father, homophobia, and sexual awakening.

Catching Kalen is a great sports romance. The authors do a great job starting off this series with a delicious and emotional age gap romance.

I stepped out of the way, just enough for him to squeeze through. His chest brushed against mine, and I inhaled his scent. Fuck, he smelled like expensive cologne and a hint of tequila. In one word, temptation. He smelled like fucking temptation.

Slipping the Do Not Disturb sign on the outside door handle, I let the heavy door swing closed. I turned to find him across the room at the window, looking out at the street. His body was a work of art with strong shoulders and a waist that tapered in just the right amount, leading to his pert ass.

Our eyes met in the window reflection as I walked up behind him. I slid my hands around his waist to rest on his stomach, feeling the ripples of his abs through his shirt. I buried my face against the back of his neck, inhaling the faint scent of aftershave and leather.

"You smell so fucking good." I trailed my lips across the back of his neck to his ear. "I can't wait to sink my teeth into your ass," I whispered as I moved my hands under his shirt and traced the contours of his abdomen. He must spend hours working out for a body like this.

He trembled as I moved my hands up to his chest and slid my thumbs over his hard nipples. His breath was already speeding up, and I smiled against the soft skin right below his ear before licking the shell of it.

"Jesus." He stumbled forward a foot and put his hands on the window. The windows had privacy film on the outside, so I wasn't worried someone would see him. Not that I cared, but he might.

I moved my hands down to the bulge in his pants. He groaned as I palmed him through the fabric of his jeans. He was thick, and I bit the lobe of his ear. "A dick like this is meant for my fist."

Love Match (Love Match #1) by Keira Andrews

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Secret romance changes the rules of the game.

Luke’s never falling in love again.

All that matters now is winning. He’s one of the best tennis players in the world. He has titles and endorsements and fans. He doesn’t need love. Especially since he’s sure he’ll lose everything if he comes out.

Then rookie Jesse walks into the locker room.

Jesse, with his youthful optimism and sweet smile. His alluring innocence.

If Luke gives in to temptation, how long will Jesse be content as secret lovers? Can two pro tennis players find love without losing their careers—and their hearts?

Love Match by Keira Andrews is a steamy gay romance featuring an age gap, the grumpy/sunshine trope, and of course a happy ending.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

I first read Love Match years ago and loved it. This Keira Andrews out for you sports romance easily holds up today as a fantastic read.

I love everything about this book. Luke and Jesse's relationship is everything I could ask for. Tennis players. Closeted. Age gay. Game play. Emotional. Love it all.

Both men are well written, multi-layered, and suffering their fair share of troubles along the way. I enjoy the way the two come together and everything that develops between them.

The tennis moments are well integrated into the story, with plenty of emotion and character development involved. The men go through a whole lot during their time playing together.

There's an age gap that plays well into the story. I enjoy that the men are at different points in their lives and careers.

Oh, and they're super hot together too.

A re-release of the author's first published book, this one is still one of my favorites. I appreciate how well written this story is. Both characters are realistic and likable, well rounded, and completely easy to root for.

Love Match is a great read. I love this Keira Andrews romance and highly recommend it. From the first page to the last, I couldn't put this one down.

His Horizon (His #1) by Con Riley

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Temperatures rise when there are two cooks in Jude’s kitchen...

Jude’s drowning in guilt when he can’t save his family business single-handed. The last person he expects to throw a lifeline is Rob, a rival chef who once beat him to first place in a cooking contest.

Two chefs working together won’t be easy. Not when Rob is everything Jude isn’t—popular, extroverted, and a one-time hook-up. What’s worse is that Rob wears his heart on his sleeve while Jude’s still in the closet.

Jude’s dilemma doesn’t end there. Rob’s rescue package comes with conditions that mean sharing everything from the profits to Jude’s sleeping quarters. Sleeping with the enemy will either be a disaster or signal a much brighter future, but only if Jude can meet Rob’s final condition and love him in the open.

Featuring opposites who attract, rivals to lovers, and an out-for-you storyline dripping with hurt-comfort feelings, His Horizon is the first in a shared-world series of standalone MM romance novels from Con Riley.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

His Horizon is a wonderful book by Con Riley. I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the storyline.

Rob and Jude are two cooks who were once competitors, yet are now business partners. Upon being reunited, they are also exploring their continued attraction to one another.

Jude's story is depressing from the start. He's back home to help his sister, having given up hope of finding his parents alive. What he finds is a struggling business and an awkward situation with Rob being in town.

Jude and Rob have a past that consists of one kiss. But the attraction is there and their connection is strong. Their slow burn romance is full of tension, need, and want. There's heat, a sprinkling of humor, and plenty of emotion.

The whole story revolves around Jude's parents being lost at sea. It's heartbreaking throughout, including Jude's issues with being closeted and having never come out to his parents. In general, Jude is weighed down by guilt, grief, and a whole lot of frustration. He's living with expectations, fears, and confusion.

The characters fully come to life in this British romance. It's a beautiful story of regrets, secrets, and acceptance. There's a family secret that comes to light, as well as some good twists and turns. In addition, there's a good mystery.

There's a whole lot to love about this tender, heart-felt read. The writing is beautiful, although definitely more descriptive than I normally prefer. The author excels in writing with a poetic feel, yet never overwhelming me. Written in alternating 3rd person pov, the reader is able to fully understand each man and their emotions.

His Horizon is wonderful in the end. I adore this heart warming second chance romance. I am excited for more in this Con Riley series.

Can they fake it til Tate makes it?

Tate Ward is in a bind. His food truck hasn’t been the runaway success he’d always dreamt it would be. When he tries to join a new food truck collective to gain a larger following, his sales aren’t even high enough to win a spot. What he needs is a high profile endorsement—and he knows just the guy.

Tate hasn’t seen Chase Riley since high school. It’s been ten long years of watching from a distance as Chase conquers football fields and fan’s hearts.

Tate never wanted Chase to know that he had the world’s stupidest crush on him, because he always believed Chase was straight.

But desperate times call for desperate measures . . .

When Chase offers a tempting plan that could fulfill all his dreams, Tate knows he can’t say no. All he has to do is pretend that his very real feelings are actually fake.

But faking it with Chase, while leading to wild success and even wilder nights, is everything that Tate feared it would be. All it’s done is leave him wanting the impossible: Chase’s heart.

___________________________________________________________________________

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Hit the Brakes is a great sports romance by Beth Bolden. Add in that it's the second book in the Food Truck Warriors series, and you can't go wrong. It's easily read as a standalone, but features plenty of men who you'll recognize from her other books.

Chase and Tate went to high school together. They were never super close and a long time has passed since they last talked.

Chase is now a famous NFL football player, while Tate is trying to make his food truck work.

Everything about these two is wonderful. I love that Chase can't forget about the only guy he ever crushed on. I love the high school flirting. And I adore their reunion.

The way things develop for these two is unique and entertaining. It's definitely nothing I predicted. They have to deal with insecurities and doubts, yet not quite as you'd expect.  And the obstacles all fit in well.

If you are in the mood for a second chance romance between two men who flirted but never even kissed, you'll love this book.

Their story has a fake boyfriend aspect to it, which of course leads to them dating for real.

God, I just adore both men, their backgrounds, and their journeys. They're both lovable, yet flawed. Both have their own insecurities to deal with. And both have their share of personal growth to achieve. I love it all.

Hit the Brakes is a delightful sports romance. Beth Bolden combines plenty of sweet moments with a hard fought win for love.

___________________________________________________________________________

A few minutes later, Tate re-emerged from the shiny silver truck, carrying a paper plate in one hand and a bottle of water in the other.

He headed in Chase’s direction, and without saying a word, sat down opposite him and slid the plate across the table.

“Rachel’s heating up the mac and cheese. It’ll be out in a second.”

“No soup?” Chase wondered.

“We’re out.” Tate shrugged. “Busy day. Shouldn’t have come at the end of lunch hour.”

“I had a meeting,” Chase said. One he probably could’ve canceled, but he also knew what would happen if he’d shown up when there was a crowd here. It’d have become a circus, and he wouldn’t have gotten a moment alone to talk to Tate.

The grilled cheese was perfectly browned and crispy, glistening at the edges with butter and melted cheese. It looked just as good as Chase remembered, and when he bit into it . . . bliss.

He chewed and swallowed. Wished he had about a thousand other bites. “This is even better than I remember it,” Chase said.

Tate drummed his fingers against the worn wooden grain of the tabletop impatiently. “It’s been ten years. I was a kid. I’ve refined the recipe since then.”

“I don’t suppose you’d tell me your secret ingredient,” Chase wondered.

Tell me all your secrets. Please.

“Secret ingredient? Time? Patience?” Tate seemed annoyed he was here, and maybe it was his fear of being found out but, deep down, Chase was worried it was something else. Maybe it had only been Chase who’d been so affected by their classes together twice a week. He hadn’t wanted to believe that was true, because he knew flirting and Tate had undeniably flirted with him. Had always responded, even when Chase hadn’t really known what they were doing.

Honestly, he still didn’t know what they’d been doing.

Chase finished one triangular half with three more big bites. “Well, I thought about this sandwich a lot,” he said.

I thought about you.

Tate looked incredulous. “I made you one grilled cheese sandwich, in high school, and you’ve been thinking about it ever since? For ten years?”

It sounded ridiculous when Tate put it like that. “Well, it was a good sandwich,” Chase retorted. “And so is this one.”

“Does this mean you’re not going to sue us?”

Chase groaned. “I never planned on suing you. I just wanted . . .” What had he wanted? He hadn’t let himself contemplate exactly what it was that he wanted from Tate, hadn’t given himself the chance, but now, even with Tate seemingly annoyed, that indescribable tension hummed between them.

He’d wanted to know that he hadn’t misremembered or imagined it after all. He’d wanted to know if it had been real.

“No? You just came here to intimidate me?”

“Oh for God’s sake,” Chase said. “I’m not here to sue you or intimidate you or any of that crap. Is it so hard to believe I just wanted to see you again? See how you’re doing?”

Tate stared at him. Those gray eyes—usually so warm but opaque now—had always unnerved him. Before, in the best possible ways. But now? Chase didn’t know what to think.

“You really aren’t here to demand I stop talking about you?”

Chase shrugged. “You posted that you make my favorite sandwich in LA. Technically, it was true. You did, just ten years ago. And now I’ve confirmed, officially, that you still do.”

Tate tugged off his beanie and ran his hand through his hair, the auburn strands of it shining in the mid-afternoon California sunshine. “I’m sorry, it’s just hard for me to believe that you’re not pissed.”

“I could pretend to be pissed off if it’d make you feel better,” Chase offered.

Tate chuckled. “No, no, that’s okay. I’m . . . I guess I’m just surprised. I’d have thought you’d hate people who use your name.”

“Most people, yeah,” Chase admitted, biting into the second half of his sandwich. “But you’re not most people. Never have been.”

Change Up (Homeruns Book 5) by Quinn Ward

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

No one expected the loudmouth of the team to be hiding in the biggest closet of them all. When he’s paired with someone who just wants to keep his head down and play the game, sparks are going to fly.

Kevin Green has always been the life of the party. He’s the one everyone turns to for a bit of comic relief. With so many of his teammates coming out of the closet and living healthy lives, it’s getting harder for him to keep the secret only one other person knows: that he’s not as straight as everyone assumes when they see him out with his hot girlfriend. Now, the façade is cracking as Amber decides it’s time to follow her dreams, but she doesn’t want to leave until she knows Kevin will embrace the side of him he’s hidden from everyone but her.

Clint Davies isn’t sure what to think of his new road roommate assignment. Kevin runs hot and cold toward him and has zero sense of boundaries. He doesn’t think before he speaks, and worse, before he acts. What starts as one night of throwing caution to the wind is instantly complicated in ways Clint isn’t prepared to deal with. He’s never seriously considered a relationship at all, much less an open arrangement with a teammate.

Having a little fun is one thing, but will Kevin and Clint strike out when things start getting serious?

Change Up is the fifth book in the Homeruns series, originally released under the pen name Sloan Johnson.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Change Up is a delicious sports romance by Quinn Ward. It was previously released under the pen name Sloan Johnson. If you didn't read it then, be sure to read it now. And if you aren't familiar with this series, go read it! It's awesome.

When Clint and Kevin become road roommates, things get interesting. Of course, it doesn't help that Clint catches Kevin watching porn.

Both these men are closeted. Clint's a closeted gay and Kevin meanwhile, has a girlfriend who's the only one who knows he's bisexual.

I love this book. I love this series.

Kevin and Clint are delicious together. They're hot as sin. And I love the way the sparks fly between them long before they're even together. The tension is high and the chemistry between the two is awesome.

And hot damn, dancing with Nick and Cody! Wow! Love those two and the way they talk to Clint. Simply sizzling.

But even better is the first move between Kevin and Clint. Smoking!

This is a tale that's enjoyable from start to end, as the two go from being awkward together, to hooking up, to friends with benefits, to more. I appreciate all the little things about these guys. Clint's feelings about Amber are wonderfully honest and raw. And, damn, I love Kevin's hesitations in the bedroom. I love everything about his fears.

There's no cheating, but Kevin is definitely sleeping with Clint while still with his girlfriend. And it's tough for Clint to deal with it. But not for her, as she's definitely all for them being together. It's refreshing to find a female character like Amber.

Everything about Change Up makes me happy. This Quinn Ward book is just another fabulous sports romance in this addictive series. I can't get enough of these men. Thank you Quinn for these incredible men.
