Brady:

I thought I was happy with my life. I have a successful business, an awesome found family, a dog who is a bigger princess than me and volunteer work that keeps me busy and satisfied when nothing else does.

I was content—and I'd thought I was happy, too—to live my life just like that. No mess. No one to demand things of me I wasn't willing to give. No complications.

But then I met Charlie.

Charlie:

For my whole life, I'd been sure I was destined to live a half-life, to hide a part of myself so I wouldn't lose the only two people I cared about. I was resigned to my fate.

But when my dad died of a sudden heart attack, I realized life was too short to keep hiding. I moved to a new city, but I had no clue how to go about finding a part of myself that I'd buried so long ago.

And then I met Brady.

A man who is out and proud of who he is and a person who has spent their life hiding a part of themselves. Will they be able to forge a path together or would their differences end up pushing them away from each other?

(Finding Me is a 60k words long queer romance full of sweet kisses, makeup tutorials and a tiny doggo called Cherry you can't help but fall in love with. Finding Me is the second book in the Voice Out series, but it can be read as a standalone and has a definite HEA.)

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Finding Me is a fabulous read by Stella Rainbow. The second book in the Voice Out series, it is easily a standalone.

I can't praise these characters enough. Brady and Charlie are amazing together. Their meet cute is sweet as Charlie has been "stalking" Brady at the coffee shop. Despite being off put by the young man, Brody immediately opens to him and takes him under his wing.

Oh Charlie, sweet, sweet Charlie. They are confused, trying to find someone who understands and can guide them in being non-binary. They know how they feel, they just aren't sure what it all means.

Enter Brody. Brody isn't non-binary, but he knows people who are. Brody himself is gender bending, so he's able to teach some things to Charlie as well.

Their story is a completely feel good romance. There's plenty of insecurity, doubts, and first times. There's also homophobia, and people who don't understand Charlie.

There are plenty of favorite moments of mine in this book. But if I had to pick one, I think I would choose the name moment. It's a game changer for Charlie, and sets the tone for everything moving forward. The reader can immediately sense that Brody will help guide the young Charlie.

The writing is stellar, with characters who are lovable and charming. There are plenty of secondary characters to warm your heart as well, including Mamma D. The author truly excels in illustrating the importance of being true to oneself, and taking the time to figure out what that means for each person.

Finding Me is the perfect choice when you're looking for a tender romance with a non-binary main character. This Stella Rainbow read will leave you satisfied, and with all the feels. This is the perfect inspirational read for anyone looking for guidance along their own way. I love it all!

𝗟𝘂𝗸𝗲

It has been a year since I escaped my three years of hell. Twelve months, and yet I felt just as broken as I had all those months ago. I had a job now, a home and people who cared about me, and yet I was all alone in this darkness that surrounded me. My past haunted me day and night and there was no one who could protect me from it.

Until I met Scott.

Losing every person I loved one after the other made me realise just how much loving someone could hurt. Without even realising, I made a decision to never love another person again, lest I lost them too. For years, my life revolved around studying and then working and the only person I was close to was my best friend, who wouldn't leave me alone, no matter what I tried. I was content to stay alone.

Until I met Luke.

Trigger Warnings: Mention of past abuse, brief description of past physical and sexual abuse, incident of self-harm.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Finding You, the first book in Stella Rainbow's Voice Out Series is a fabulous roommates romance.

Luke and Scott's first meeting sets off something. These are two men who struggle with friendships. Luke struggles to trust people, but he senses he can trust Scott from the get go. Meanwhile, Scott has always been alone and wants a friend.

This is a story with Harry Potter books, and a lot of sweet, calming moments. The beginning of their friendship is extremely sweet.

It's a story with ex abuse, trauma, and PTSD. Luke is a broken man. When the reader finally learns the depth of his pain, it is heart wrenching. It's definitely way more than I was expecting. His past also includes self harm which is written with care.

I love the smooth writing style. Written in alternating first person pov, the author brings the reader into the characters' feelings perfectly. Every thought, every look, is wonderfully brought to life. The author skims over a lot of the details, which is annoying at times, but works fine overall.

Finding You is an amazing debt book by Stella Rainbow. I can't wait to see what the author comes up with next.
