BLOG TOUR, EXCERPT & GIVEAWAY - Bounce by Becca Seymour

"Real issues and real feels!"
- PJ Silva, Author

Book: Bounce
Series: Outback Boys #2 (Complete Stand-Alone)
Genre: M/M Romance
Cover Designer: Booksmith Design

Outback Boys is a sweet and sexy M/M romance series complete with bruised butts, rope burn, and overworked muscles… all in the pursuit of adventure, of course!

Aiden is content keeping people at a distance and ensuring his boundaries are impenetrable. There’s safety in not opening up, but there’s also a loneliness he doesn’t realise exists until he meets Riley, a new member of the LGBTQ+ adventure group Outback Boys.

Fascinated by the new guy, Aiden is quick to discover his flirtation skills are rusty and his sweet-talking is cringeworthy. But sweet and clumsy Riley doesn’t seem to mind so much.

Even though Riley doesn’t quite know how to handle Aiden’s intensity, he’s willing to step out of his comfort zone and see how their tentative friendship unravels.

Between a surf lesson that resembles a kangaroo on acid and paddle boarding that is trickier than walking a tightrope, Aiden and Riley discover love may be a possibility after all.

Happiness relies on honesty and openness, though. And with both men holding on tightly to past struggles, their future together is at risk. Can the two Aussies bounce back and heal themselves and each other, or are some wounds too raw to recover from?

Trigger Warning: Contains themes (discussions) of mental illness and suicide.

True Blue, Book 5

When a protective ex-cop helps his gorgeous tenant through his recovery, their complicated history is asking for trouble. Will the fear of the past repeating itself destroy any possibility of happiness?

Daredevil drifter Lawrence Crawford is hunting for a place to call home. After ten years of looking, he believes he’s found what he’s been searching for. With a job that pays the bills and a small group of friends he’s opening up to, he lets down his guard. Perhaps too much so. Finding himself in need of support, Lawrence is forced to accept help from the one man who’s been driving him to distraction for the past year. His landlord.

Former cop Billy Hilton made a mistake—admittedly there’ve been many over the years. The latest is when he lets Lawrence believe he isn’t interested in pursuing anything with him. It’s not even the age difference or the fact the guy lives in Billy’s studio apartment that’s the problem. Instead, it’s all him. When Billy offers to play nursemaid to Lawrence, his intentions may not be pure, but they’re honest. And that honesty blows their lives wide open when Lawrence’s past comes knocking on the door, demanding changes and threatening an upheaval neither man may ever recover from.

Book five in Becca Seymour’s stand-alone low-angst, feel-good LGBTQ series, True-blue. In this small town, there are busybodies, dogs who cause chaos, families who have the “best” of timing, and opportunities for good men to find their perfect match.

He didn’t shrug, nor did he shy away when he answered, “I think you need help and I can give it to you. I want to give it to you,” he clarified. “Honestly, I want to get to know you better.”

Wide-eyed at his honesty, the question of what happened all those months ago burned in my throat. Asking that, without any guarantee of what his answer would be, was too much for now. Already I felt vulnerable. Not only did my foot and wrist throb, but my head stung and threatened to explode, and the cuts and scrapes stung something fierce.

As if sensing my inner battle, he said, “Listen, I am sorry about what happened… before.” His jaw clenched at the words, an emotion flashing in his eyes that I couldn’t read. “I wasn’t in a great place, and I’m just now trying to sort my own shit out. I pushed you away in the worst possible way—”

“The shittiest,” I added, cutting him off, finally finding my voice and the confidence to speak up. This wasn’t the first apology he’d given, but with my ego hurt after his brush-off, I hadn’t been in the right place to accept it.

His lips tilted high, the movement sending those damn wings crazy. “The shittiest,” he agreed. “I want to help you and get to know you in whatever way you’ll let me. What do you say?” A small shrug followed, the first hint of uncertainty I’d seen from him.

I tilted my head back, wincing at the pull, the bump forming on my head reminding me it was probably best I shouldn’t ignore my injuries. Heading to the hospital wasn’t going to put me at risk. Intellectually I knew that, but despite both time and distance, some habits were hard to break.

Looking back at Billy, who remained crouched at my feet, hand still touching me, I said, “Okay. I could probably do with getting my head checked out.”

Special Release Blitz Excerpt:

One slipup… one night when I should have been too drunk to get anything up, had been epic for the best of reasons but had resulted in nothing but blue balls ever since, and an awkwardness between the two of us that was getting worse rather than better.

And I was 100 percent responsible, completely to blame for my inability to let go. Lawrence had been a distraction I hadn’t thought I could afford at the time, but now I knew better.

Finally.

But as time passed by, I figured it was too late to make amends.

The blue door at the top of the external staircase opened, and Lawrence stepped out. His red tee and running shorts left little to my imagination, sparking my memory something fierce. He stretched as he jogged down the wooden steps, reaching the bottom and continuing his routine.

Every damn time he did this, my whole body thrummed with awareness. And I couldn’t have looked away if I wanted to. It would have taken a serious distraction to tear me away from the way he flexed and stretched.

I sighed, shaking my head at myself. I was a glutton for punishment, knew as much even as I eyed the way he shifted his arms so his tee rose, lifting the fabric and exposing skin.

And then he looked toward the house, and I quickly edged away, wondering just when I’d turned into this man. Shit, had I still been a cop, I would have arrested myself for this bullshit. I groaned and refocused on what I should have been doing, pulling up the email I’d been hanging around for.

I exhaled before opening it, immediately smiling at the start of the message that was giving me a telling off while letting me know they all loved me and were okay. Attached was also an image of the boys and their latest school pics. They were hilariously dreadful. Teenagers did have a habit of looking awkward. I shook my head, thinking about Clark, knowing he would have gotten a kick out of his eldest looking all gangly with a constipated smile on his face.

As soon as I skimmed the rest of the email, I smiled even wider, this time relieved that I believed her words. I shook my head, amused at the “sort your shit out and get yourself a man already rather than interfering in my love life!

Will they find the courage to take what they want?

A bar owner who’s not looking for a relationship. A lost soul who’s afraid to trust. When Elijah and Seb meet, sparks fly. But will either of them find the courage to take what they want?

Pouring his all into his business, Elijah is perfectly content running his bar. With its prime location and its infamous drag shows, Bar QK is the place to be. Elijah is used to meeting new and sometimes interesting people, but it’s rare anyone catches his interest for anything longer than a five-minute conversation.

It takes a wandering, unfiltered surfer, who’s tired of the chase and dog-tired of people taking advantage of him, to spark long-buried interest in Elijah.

While kindness runs through his veins, Seb doesn’t believe in fairy tales. He has a past he’d rather forget and has no real expectations for his future. He believes it’s safer to not make assumptions about anything or anyone; that way, he’ll remain safe.

It takes his elusive, aloof boss, whose mixed messages are more confusing than Ikea furniture instructions, to show Seb that opening his heart can be worth the risk.

When Elijah and Seb find themselves working on a common goal, the high stakes may be just the nudge they need.

“What happened?”

His words registered though made no sense.

“Just,” he clarified, “everything was fine. You smiled, then it all changed. I lost it.”

“Lost it?” I was convinced I’d been dropped into a conversation midpoint as I floundered to catch up. Elijah was direct, as I was, or usually was. I liked that about him. A lot. But he also had a habit of using clipped questions, or short sentences that took me a while to work out what he meant.

“I lost your smile.”

“Oh.” Oh! What the heck was a guy to say to that? Yeah, he’d asked a question that he wanted answered, but hot damn, that he’d lost my smile? I really hoped to God that that meant what I thought it meant. But far out, I wasn’t sure my heart could handle a man like Elijah.

From the moment we’d met at his bar, there’d been a connection. It was undeniable, but still, at work he kept his distance. Admittedly, he took time out to make sure I was coping and settling in okay, but he was the boss. And he occasionally brought me treats. And maybe we chatted about a few things other than work sometimes. It was his job. Right? Right? Okay, so perhaps he didn’t quite keep his distance at work.

And then when I’d told him about what had happened with the paint, he’d seemed to have lost his guard for a few seconds and had mentioned an “us.” At the time, a flurry of activity had burst free in my gut, pretty similar to the havoc currently taking place there. The thought that it was more, the possibility that he could actually likeme like me and that Harriet was right…. Then there was the mention of that kiss, which I was sure had happened and hadn’t been a figment of my imagination brought on by shock.

Heat crept through my body. I had no idea where it travelled from or was heading to, but my senses flared to life. The subtle shift of his fingers as they still made contact with my cheek, the fresh masculine scent of his aftershave hovering between the two of us, the controlled sound of his breathing, which actually deepened a little… all caught up with me and, honest to God, weakened my knees.

I wobbled a little, and he reached out his other hand, not realising I’d been leaning into him. He placed his hand on my hip to steady me.

Not quite flush with him, it didn’t seem to matter as his body heat pushed against me. Warmth that was welcome and comforting pulled me in and made unbidden words spill forth. “You like my smile?” When his lips moved and it looked like he was about to speak, my filter vanished, was whisked away into the abyss and I was powerless to stop it.

“So does this mean you like me”—please stop—“because if you do, which is great, but are you sure? It’s just that you said I was, well you know, small and stuff, and I don’t know, everyone at work says you’re into big guys, or at least bigger than me.” Please, make it stop. I didn’t listen to myself, despite my last comment causing his brows to lift. “You just don’t seem like the kind of guy that would go for someone like me. It’s just, I’m not saying I’ve been bashed with the ugly stick or anything”—a nervous, awful laugh escaped my lips, carrying my words—“I know some people think I’m good-looking. Not that I’m vain or anything. Nothing like that. But I saw some of the men at the bar who I know you’ve hooked up with, and they’re nothing like me. They have a good few inches on me—in height,” I quickly added. “I’m packing, and”—for the love of all that is holy, make it stop. I prayed for a hole, a tsunami, a vortex—“anyway, I just, well, I like it when you smile, too.” I finally ran out of steam with no clue what I was talking about or even if I had a point or answered his damn question.

Blurb

After five years of living in the UK, it’s time for Leo to return home to his dad’s stud farm in outback Australia. He has no idea what to expect when he arrives. He didn’t exactly leave with balloons and banners.

Nope. His farewell involved destruction and his own heart split in two.

He knows seeing the man who’s always held his heart, Zak, is going to be awkward. The older farm manager made his feelings pretty damn clear when Leo hightailed it out of there.

Leo quickly figures out life is going to get complicated and a whole heap more exciting as his trip home becomes so much more.

Amalgamated is a fun and steamy M/M short story in Becca Seymour’s Coming Home series. Stand-alone romances complete with heat, wit, and happily ever afters.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Amalgamated is the perfect read when your in the mood for an ultra sweet short story. This Becca Seymour book is a no angst, quick read.

This story is a beautiful second chance romance for Leo and Zak. Leo's back home after 5 years away. Leo has always crushed on the older Zak, but Leo was only a teenager. When he left home, things ended badly between the two men.

Now Leo's back. And he has a chance to ask forgiveness, and more.

The story is short, and takes place over a short period of time. But it's well developed, easy to follow, and a whole lot of fun.

Amalgamated is pure sweet, sweet fluff. I love it all.

Excerpt

“Promise you won’t be mad.”

Groaning, I shook my head. Any request starting that way was going to result in me being pissed off. “What did you do?”

This time her glance my way had me tensing. Concern flickered in her eyes. When she focused on the road ahead, she blew out her cheeks, her lips pursed. “We’re heading to mine.”

“Okay?” I dragged out the word. I’d figured that out since we weren’t heading towards Dad and Michelle’s.

“Dad kinda got excited about you coming home.”

My stomach dipped. I just knew where she was heading with this. Slamming my eyes shut, I waited for her next words.

They came out in a rush. “Sohekindainvitedaheapofpeopleover. But…” She gasped for breath. “…it’s not technically a party, as there aren’t banners or balloons.”

My eyes sprang open, and I stared at her wide-eyed.

She glanced at me, a mix of horror and amusement on her face. “You owe me big for talking him out of that.”

“Yet you couldn’t have talked him into a small family meal?”

She shrugged. “I did try, but, Leo.” She paused, emotion swirling in her eyes, and I swallowed. This was just one of the reasons I’d stayed away. Guilt still clawed at me whenever I gave it life. “Dad was so excited you were coming home. You know he still doesn’t understand why you left. If it had just been heading to the city, that would have been a struggle, but you travelled to the other side of the world.”

My gut clenched. I still felt shit for leaving my dad, but I had my own life to live, and taking over my dad’s stud farm wasn’t what I wanted. Plus there was the major screw-up with how I destroyed any semblance of a friendship with Zak.

“There’s more.”

I flashed Jen a resigned look.

“Dad obviously invited Zak.”

My heart seized, and my gut churned. This could not be happening. While I’d anticipated seeing him, I wasn’t prepared for it to be the first night I got home. In hindsight, this was ridiculously naïve of me, considering his place was only a hundred metres or so away from the main house on the property.

“I know, I know, but best to get the whole awkwardness out of the way, right?” She reached out and gave my hand a small squeeze. After I’d run out on Zak the night I’d left, it had taken just a handful of calls from Jen for her to recognize something was wrong and for me to spill my guts. We remained close, even with the distance of the past five years, and without her in my corner, life certainly would have been trickier.

“Yeah, I suppose.” There was something to be said for ripping the Band-Aid off, but my gut clenched in anticipation.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Becca Seymour's I've Got You is a great romance that's a fantastic redemption for Scott, who we met in Let Me Show You. A homophobic ass in the first book, he's definitely lovable now. That said, this book is easily read as a standalone.
Davis is a single dad, who's whole life centers around his daughter. He's easy to love, and his daughter is adorable. After Scott was an ass when they met, they slowly become friends, becoming a large support to one another. Davis certainly wasn't looking for a man, as his life was busy enough. But, he feels there's something more to Scott than the façade he shows the world and soon starts to let him into his life.

It's wonderful the way that Davis supports and helps Scott. The slow burn aspect of their story is perfect for them, adding to the natural development of their relationship. Seeing the true Scott is fantastic, as my heart hurts for him. The author expertly builds his background for us, explaining and exploring his struggles to own his sexuality. His character development, as well as his character growth are exceptional.

The writing is nice, with deep characters and a great flow. The tone is pleasant, drawing me in immediately. Their story involves a fun group of friends, which is something I always enjoy in a book. They add greatly to the story, and are entertaining. I love the strong sense of family and support.

I've Got You is enjoyable from start to finish. Becca Seymour has managed to create two wonderful main characters in this emotional story of forgiveness, redemption, family, and love.  I definitely enjoyed this story and highly recommend it.

Excerpt

I cleared my throat, suddenly aware I’d stayed quiet for a few seconds too long. “Hey.” My voice was gravelly and sounded unnaturally deep.

The guy paused in front of me, his hands dipping into his jeans pockets. He was quiet for a beat, seeming to contemplate what to say.

“You know Rex then?”

I nodded and then took a glance at the large head resting on my lap. With a small nod, I smiled. “Yeah. He finally likes me, so I’m taking it as a win that we’re friends.”

The brown-eyed man’s head tilted slightly, his gaze scanning my face a moment before his eyes returned to mine. “So you’re a friend of Carter’s?”

A humorless snort burst free, not enough to startle Rex, but enough for the guy to raise his brows. I cleared my throat again, not especially liking the fact that it seemed to be closing up and becoming uncomfortably dry in front of this guy. “Well, sort of. We used to work together.”

“Not anymore?”

I bit back the bitter retort dancing on my tongue, tempted to ask if that wasn’t what “used to” explicitly meant. There was no need for me to be so defensive or any bigger of an asshole than I already had a reputation for being.

“Nope. Just trying to figure out my next move.” I clamped my mouth shut, wondering why I’d shared so much. He sat on the lounger beside me, stopping my analysis. “Please, take a seat.” Damn, I really needed to learn to keep my mouth shut and stop being a dickhead. “Sorry.” I threw him a small grimace, noticing both of his perfectly arched brows were lifted, his attention solely on me. There was also a small smile on his lips. I was positive I saw it twitch.

“Hey, I can leave.”

Though, he stayed put, making no indication he planned on moving. He didn’t even shrug or twitch as he spoke.

While solitude had been what I’d craved, I was smart enough to recognize that just maybe not being alone was a good thing. Being alone, I was discovering, was not helpful at all. All it did was give me too much time with my thoughts. And that had a habit of screwing with my head. While I’d sought the quiet, especially since my blowout with Carter a while back, I recognized how dangerous isolation could be. Loneliness was a slippery slope.

When a veterinarian and a construction worker connect, it takes mishaps, mistakes, and a Rhodesian Ridgeback named Rex to show them they’re made for each other.

Dr. Carter Falon is content living a quiet life in a small town caring for his animal patients. That doesn't mean he's not looking for a distraction. After finding himself precariously wedged… naked and at the mercy of a drop-dead gorgeous construction worker, Carter hires his savior to renovate his home.

When Tanner Grady’s best friend and new niece needed him, he uprooted and relocated without a second thought. His life has since been centered on work and spending time with his family, but when he comes to the rescue of a cute vet, Tanner finds he's a lot more interested in the homeowner than the house he’s renovating.

Review
My Rating - 3 Stars!

Let Me Show You is a sweet small town romance by Becca Seymour.

Carter meets the handsome Tanner when he hires him to renovate his home. Soon they can't hold back on acting on their attraction. Their story includes homophobia, some small angst, and some cute animals.

They've hot together and once they're together, we just get a lot of their everyday lives. It's rather simple, yet also endearing. The best part of them is the way they make each other feel, as love makes both men a better version of themselves.

Let Me Show You is a good feel-good romance. The writing is good, but the pace is a little slow, with not much happening in the second half. It's definitely a good book when you're looking for a light read.

Excerpt

My eyes widened when they landed on his form. Damn, it wasn’t every day a client greeted me in the nude. Looking at the path between me and who I assumed to be Carter on the ground, I tried not to let my eyes linger for too long on his smooth expanse of skin. He was lightly toned, with a softness about him that was impossible to not notice, despite trying my hardest not to.

With a shake of my head, I calculated each step I took to get to his side. Once I made it safely to the top, the floorboards creaking under my booted feet, Carter angled himself to turn and look at me. Definitely pissed off and in pain, and perhaps a bit mortified too, a light blush covering his cheeks. His gaze roamed me from bottom to top before landing on my own. I quirked my brow in amusement and question while strategically ignoring how fucking pretty his brown eyes were. “So…?” I offered.

He sighed, and I watched in fascination as his Adam’s apple bobbed when he swallowed. “I rushed from the piece-of-crap shower when I heard the knock. My foot went through the board, and it’s stuck.” His pink cheeks turned crimson.

Unable to stay the small smile tugging at my lips, I grinned as I stepped closer. I took my time to get to him, wanting to help the guy out. The last thing he needed was me falling on my ass. Clearing my throat, I crouched down at his side, my focus now on his leg and foot.

The whole area was rotten and would need ripping out. But for the time being, I’d need to tear up the two surrounding boards to get his ankle free. “You have tried to get it out, right?” I felt like a jackass for asking, but it was always best to check first.

Carter huffed out a breath. “Yeah, I did. It’s wedged against something. I tried pulling it out, but it’s a no go. It’s tighter than a virgin ass.”

My gaze whipped to his. What the fuck? With lifted brows, I stared wide-eyed at him, drawing another blush from him.

“Shoot, sorry. That was inappropriate.” His eyes widened in horror. “I meant, it’s wedged. Erm. It’s just wedged tight, and—”

I grinned. “It’s all good. Give me a sec.” The poor guy looked like he wanted to join his foot in the space under the floorboards and curl over. He needed an out, and I needed to get some air in my lungs away from his intoxicating smell and firm thighs, which were impossible to ignore in such close proximity.
