Season's Change (Trade Season #1) by Cait Nary

A veteran hockey player and a rookie can't get away from each other—or their own desires—in this sexy, heartfelt opposites-attract hockey romance.

Olly Järvinen has a long way to go. He’s got a fresh start playing for a new team, but getting his hockey career back on track is going to take more than a change of scenery. He’s got to shut his past out and focus. On the game, not on his rookie roommate and his annoyingly sunny disposition—and annoyingly distracting good looks.

All Benji Bryzinski ever wanted was to play in the big leagues, and he’s not going to waste one single second of his rookie season. Yoga, kale smoothies and guided meditation help keep his head in the game. But his roommate keeps knocking him off track. Maybe it’s just that Olly is a grumpy bastard. Or maybe it’s something else, something Benji doesn’t have a name for yet.

Olly and Benji spend all their time together—on the ice, in the locker room, in their apartment—and ignoring their unspoken feelings isn’t making them go away. Acting on attraction is one thing, but turning a season’s fling into forever would mean facing the past—and redefining the future.

Trade Season

Book 1: Season's Change

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Season's Change is a fabulous hockey romance by Cait Nary.

Damn! I love this book.

It's a super hot romance full of tension and steamy moments.

A player falling for his roommate and teammate; what more could you ask for?

For Benji, he discovers his bisexual side, with some feelings developing, and a super hot threesome sparking things further. Ollie meanwhile, has plenty of his own issues to deal with, including some past traumatic events.

The writing is great, as Cait had me both laughing and crying at times, fully pulled into the emotions throughout. There are a bunch of secondary characters who add to the fun. Everyone is fabulous and easy to fall in love. I love a good sports romance and this one is just that. The sports parts of the story are well done, and I adore the relationship.

Love it all!

Season's Change is a must read the next time you're in the mood for a sports romance. Cait Nary will not disappoint in this slow burn, bisexual awakening gem.

MF - Forever Perfect (Perfect #4) by Alison G. Bailey

Sometimes in love, the person who’s your future isn't always your destiny…

Forever Perfect by Alison G. Bailey is now live!

I was five years old when I met the love of my life. He was my best friend's older brother, but he was also my friend. We shared popsicles, we hunted for shark teeth on Folly Beach, and told each other secrets. But everything changed when we became teenagers. Brandon no longer wanted to have anything to do with me. I was a pest. Something to ignore. I hated that he tossed away our friendship.

Although he broke my heart, it still fluttered when he looked at me, was near me, and touched me. But eventually he would look away, push away, and walk away. Finally, I realized you can't make someone love you even if they were supposed to be your forever.

Forever Perfect is a great brother's best friend romance by Alison G Bailey. This is the fourth book in the Perfect series and is easily read as a standalone.

I can never resist a brother's best friend romance. And this is my favorite kind, as Halle and Brandon have known each other growing up. They were even good friends...until they weren't.

Their story is told with time jumps, as we get to see the past and the present. And the present starts with Brandon hating Halle, creating a nice enemies to lovers storyline. And damn, their story is full of pain and obstacles, but their love is well worth the journey.

The writing is great, with an intriguing storyline and two interesting characters. The story is fast paced, with everything flowing nicely. There are definitely some tough subject matters, so be warned.

Overall, Forever Perfect is a great read. I love this Alison G Bailey book, as it's full of all the feels. I definitely recommend it the next time you're in the mood for a brother's best friend romance.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

The Resurrection of Wildflowers is the second book in the Wildflower series. The first book in this Micalea Smeltzer series, The Confidence of Wildflowers, had me gutted. But this sequel healed my broken heart.

There's a lot going on emotionally in this sequel, as Salem and Thayer are reunited. Not only do they have to deal with their relationship, they also have to deal with Salem's mother being sick and dying. Add in that Thayer doesn't know he's a father, and their plenty to keep you turning the pages.

The two have certainly changed a lot during their time apart, but they never forgot about each other. Their love is definitely strong and they don't waste anytime acting on their connection.

As for the storyline itself, there isn't a whole lot going on. This is an emotionally journey, rather than a story with a lot of plot.

And, can we talk about Caleb for a minute? Damn, this poor man. He loves Salem so damn much that he's willing to do absolutely anything for her. I continue to feel bad that she doesn't return his feelings. It's nice though that there's no hatred between the two. But, ouch, Salem isn't very nice in her treatment of him, and totally uses him throughout.

The Resurrection of Wildflowers is a nice conclusion to the Wildflower duet. Micalea Smeltzer manages to give us a nice romance as the two find a way to heal their relationship, as well as their hearts.

The Real Baxter (The Baxter Chronicles #1) by Lane Hayes

Amazon Link - Available in KU

The silver-fox and the faux bodyguard…

Sebastian

Who’s the true hero behind the Hollywood heartthrob, crime-fighting, adventure-seeking international man of mystery? Me. I’m the real Baxter.

Well, I wear the suit and let the action play out onscreen. You want to know the secret of my success? Sell the story you want to tell. Even if you have to bend the truth a little.

Okay…a lot.

Trust me, no one will notice. Except Trent, who seems to notice everything. And for some reason, I like that. I like him. I’m just not sure what to do about it.

Trent

Look, I’m not exactly killing it. I’m a typical struggling actor-slash-waiter, hoping for a break. And boom…in walks Sebastian Rourke. He’s a cutthroat, wickedly charming silver fox, a Hollywood legend in the making. No joke. You’ve got to sell a piece of your soul to get in this man’s orbit. Or fake a British accent, then take a job playing bodyguard to fool the press. As one does.

I know I should take advantage of the very strange situation I find myself in, but I’m not sure I’m cut out for it. However, I’m willing to take a chance, ’cause I want the real Seb.

Even though it might cost me everything.

The Real Baxter is a MM age-gap, bisexual romance featuring the man who has everything and the actor who’s willing to show him what’s real.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

The Real Baxter is a great start to The Baxter Chronicles series by Lane Hayes.

Seb, who we met in the Starting From series, is a famous and wealthy Hollywood man. From the start, his relationship with Trent is everything I never saw coming.

Trent definitely brings out a different side to Seb. And I love it. Seb isn't a bad guy, but love isn't on his mind when he meets the inexperienced actor. He just has a lot going on in his life and isn't looking for anything serious.

These two are fabulous together. I enjoy the layers to their relationship, as well as the unconventionality of it.

Their story is hot and emotional in all the best ways. I love the age gap as well as the opposites attract. And damn, these two are complete opposites in every way.

Of course, there's a fake relationship aspect which is well executed. We all know how Hollywood is about fake relationships.

The writing is wonderful, with a lot of heart, and a slew of secondary characters who we all have come to love.

The Real Baxter is everything I never knew I needed. This looks to be the start of another amazing series by Lane Hayes. Be sure to check it out.

Ronan's Boy (Escape Club) by J.J. Harper

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Can Ronan keep his firecracker safe? Or is it better to let his best friend help him?
Ronan is tired of hooking up. Of watching other men at Escape find their forever boys. He wants his own and he knows he's out there.
Cody will be the perfect boy for the right Daddy, he needs to have the precise Dom-to-Daddy ratio. But he isn't exactly tripping over men who want more than a night of fun.
So, yeah, needle meet haystack.
Then one night, they were both in the right place at the right time.
Ronan can't take his eyes off the perfect boy in the silver hot-pants, and tight, cropped T. He knows if he takes this boy home, he'll never want to let him leave,
Cody knows from the moment their lips touch he will never want another Daddy. Ronan is the man he's been looking for.
When Ronan introduces Cody to his best friend, Harley, new fantasies set in. Could he share his boy? Would Cody want them both?
Danger threatens Cody and the life he has with Ronan. Maybe having two Daddies is safer?

Ronan's boy is an age-gap, no age-play gay romance with plenty of hot and steamy Daddy/boy action.
Intended for readers aged eighteen or over.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Ronan's Boy is one hell of a hot Daddy romance. This JJ Harper gem is part of the wonderful world of the Escape Club series, but it's easily read as a standalone.

And omg, what a story! I love every moment of it.

Cody and Harley are amazing together and their chemistry is off the charts. From their first meeting, to their developing relationship, to their sizzling threesome, every moment with these two is fabulous.

Their story includes a lot of learning how to navigate their needs and desires. It's an insta love story that also includes a stalker element.

Ronan's Boy is a must read if you're in the mood for a hot Daddy romance. This JJ Harper book will not disappoint.

Unholy Desire (Sinful Natures #3) by Lynn Burke

As an overseas missionary who leads lost souls toward salvation, it’s imperative I live a godly existence, even in the midst of life-shattering grief.

Returning to the States brings about a trial worse than the loss of love, and I’m faced with desire for someone forbidden to me by my church and the word of God.

Aaron Weston.

My best friend’s son who is no longer a gangly teen. He makes me want things no newly widowed man should.

His presence fills the emptiness in my life, but my sinful nature longs for more. Every inch of him—in my heart, in my body, making me feel whole again.

Giving into the hunger of the flesh will take us down a path of immorality, one that goes against my strive for holiness.

I lost my wife from focusing on promised riches in glory.

And if I make the same mistake, I fear responsibility for the ruination of another soul.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Unholy Desire is the third book in the Sinful Natures series. This is easily read as a standalone, and is my favorite of the series thus far.

Aaron and Ezra's story is full of delicious tension and chemistry, as well as sneaking around and the forbidden aspects.

This is a father's best friend romance, with Aaron and Ezra having known one another while Aaron was growing up.

I love the immediate desire between the two upon reuniting. It causes plenty of hesitation and doubts, but they never doubt their want.

Aaron's father is dying, helping to bring the men together to help him. Unfortunately, his father definitely sees what's going on between them and is hard set against it.

In addition to the issues they have with Aaron's father, they also have to deal with the homophobia in the church. An ongoing element of this series, I enjoy the way this is written.

I found myself pleasantly surprised by a little revelation towards the end. I appreciate how much it adds to the story and helps bring everything fully around. Well done!

Unholy Desire is a delightful read. I love this Lynn Burke story and can't wait to see what happens next.

Blackbird (If I Fell #2) by Mia Kerick

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Sequel to Hide Your Love Away (If I Fell Series, book 2)

Timmy and Cole’s angsty love story continues…

Last year, in Timmy Hale’s junior year at Edgewater University, he set his romantic sights on Colton “Cole” Ledger—a burly and sometimes over-protective dormitory maintenance man. Cole soon had it bad for sleek and snarky Timmy too, and—despite a bumpy road (a frenzied stalker and an uncooperative son)—before year’s end they’d found love. Now, in Timmy’s senior year, the couple has left the dormitory behind. Cole is back to running his own custom construction company, and they’ve turned an antique Victorian home into a love nest. For a while, life is good.

But insta-love comes at a cost, and for Timmy and Cole it’s steep. Cole’s doubts haunt him: he’s almost certain he’s too old for Timmy, and that he’s pushing him into a life he’ll eventually resent, keeping him from spreading his newfound wings and taking flight toward his best future. Acting on his fears, Cole pressures Timmy to accept an internship in Manhattan—far from the home they’ve built together. He means well, but Timmy feels like a baby bird kicked out of the nest too soon.

Tensions rise until fear, resentment, and desire draw Timmy and Cole into explosive conflict. When the dust settles, will Timmy wing away like a young blackbird, or return to nest with Cole in their happy garden home?

For maximum enjoyment, Blackbird is best read after Hide Your Love Away.

Stay tuned for Book 3 in the IF I FELL Series, Come Together, coming in January, 2022.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Gah! Blackbird is a heart-wrenching tale. The second book in the If I Fell series, Mia Kerick manages to break my heart throughout.

We met Timmy and Cole in Hide Your Love Away. We saw them fall in love and we saw Cole help mend Timmy's pain.

But in this follow up, Cole pushes Timmy out of his comfort zone and sends him off to NYC for an internship.

And this is where the Gah reaction comes in.

It's so tough to see Cole's son push Timmy in the directions he thinks Timmy should go. Let's just say I wanted to punch him.

Ultimately, in this part of their journey, Cole has pushed Timmy out of the nest like a bird who needs to spread his wings. It's a long and hard journey for these two. It's hard to read and had me so mad at everyone. I just wanted these men to open their eyes and realize what's going on.

Blackbird is a good addition to the If I Fell Series. This Mia Kerick tale isn't for those looking for a light read. But in the end, these men are witness to how much better off they are together than apart.

Got Me Looking (Vet Shop Boys, #3) by Casey Cox

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

A jilted groom and a guy who doesn’t believe in monogamy fall in love? Yeah. Right.

After getting cheated on at my own goddamn wedding, I’m through with men. I’m approaching fifty, and all I’ve ever wanted is to settle down, get married, and live happily ever after. But yeah, that hasn’t exactly worked out great for me.

The last person I expect to understand me is Tate. Sure, he’s cute, curious, and clever. A firecracker with no filter who somehow manages to stay friendly and genuine at the same time. But he isn’t exactly a settle-down kinda guy. Oh, and did I mention he’s also twenty years younger than me?

There’s no way something could ever happen between the two of us, so how is it possible that Tate has got me looking at love––and him––in a whole new light?

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Got Me Looking is a great romance by Casey Cox that explores types of love.

Earlier in the series, Gus was heartbroken upon discovering his husband was cheating on his at his own wedding reception. Ouch! This perfectly sets the tone for Gus's story and the reader's desire to see him find his happy ending.

Starting off his own love story, Gus is now set up with Tate as his "chaperone" for the night. The attraction is definitely there between these two, but Tate is open about being polyamorous, while Gus is monogamous.

With the two agreeing to a fake relationship for a short term, things get interesting as their time spent together leads to a strong connection.

Overall, their tale explores being poly versus monogamous, and the exploration of one's own sexuality. I applaud the author for the way this is all developed, in a true manner, never cheapening what it means to be poly. Instead we get an honest and raw internal conflict of one's own views.

I enjoy every moment of this story. It's a May to December romance in which the age gap is never an issue. The chemistry is amazing and the emotions felt throughout.

Got Me Looking is a wonderful read. Be sure to pick up this Casey Cox book if you're in the mood for a romance that shouldn't work out, but does. You won't regret it.
