RELEASE BLITZ, EXCERPT & REVIEW - Bombshells (Brooklyn Bruisers #8) by Sarina Bowen

The women's league is in the house! And Brooklyn will never be the same again for Anton Bayer and the team…

This is my last chance to ditch my playboy reputation and finally fulfill my potential. So I’ve made three rules for our biggest season yet: no boozing, no women, and no scandals.

Especially that last thing.

So who do I befriend on the very first day back at the rink? An amazing female hockey player. I want Sylvie in a way that’s more than just friendly. I crave her. But I have a championship to win, and so does she.

Then she gets her heart broken by my teammate, and I make the foolish mistake of comforting her in the best way I know how. Our night together sets off a string of sins.

Nobody can know about our affair, especially my overprotective teammate. I can’t let anyone see into my greedy little heart. Not even her.

The things I want from her, and the things we’ve already done? If anyone knew, there’d be bombshells.

Contains: a defenseman with dreamy blue eyes, a female goalie with bad ideas, a major battle of the sexes and a swimming pool scene...

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Bombshells is the eighth book in the Brooklyn Bruisers series. Sarina Bowen definitely delights in this romance, which is easily read as a standalone.

This time around we get both men and women's hockey. And there's a lot going on.

Anton and Sylvie's romance is a sweet one, that's full of many curves in their road to happiness.

This is Anton's season for hockey and nothing else. After indulging in partying and women the past few years, this is his year to work hard for his team.

Then he meets Sylvie, a goalie for the women's hockey team.

The attraction is instant for Anton. But he's not gonna make a move. Not only has he swoon off women, Sylvie's long been in love with one of Anton's teammates and plans to be with him.

Their story is full of ups and downs and lots of fun.

Sylvie's relationship with Bryce is interesting for sure. Obviously, she's upset that he's so damn protective of her and treats her like she can't take care of herself. Add in that he won't make a move, and what the heck? But, ohhhh...I love how this ends up.

Meanwhile, she's growing closer to Anton. I adore the way their friendship develops. And I love the way things progress further for them despite them trying to ignore their attraction. The connection between this couple is fabulous and the chemistry is smoking.

Anton. Swoon. You'll be hard pressed to avoid falling in love with this man.

I appreciate the way the author approaches these characters. Both have some tough pain in their pasts, but the pain never weighs them down. The author avoids getting too serious, and focuses on the lightheartedness instead.

I'm not sure how I feel about all the signs from Sylvie's mom. I both like this and got annoyed by it. Not helpful for a review, I know.

Of course, the author treats us to all the fun Bruisers banter and antics. Seriously, I just love these guys and this series! With this book though, we also get a close look at a lot of the women from the Bombshells team and their friendships.

Bombshells is a terrific hockey romance. I love this Sarina Bowen gem, both for itself, and for the way it ties into the series. This is a must read for any sports romance fans. And I highly suggest it for anyone looking for a dose of sweetness, sexiness, sports, and humor.

Long after daylight arrives, I lay stretched out in my bed, my eyes shut, fighting off the reality of morning.

My thighs ache, probably from yesterday’s workout. But I’m also deliciously sore in some places I didn’t know I could be sore.

Behind my shuttered eyelids, the night isn’t over yet. If I stay in this dreamlike place, I can relive each thrill that Anton gave me. Each stroke of his magic hands across my bare skin.

As first times go, I realize I’ve hit the jackpot. His obvious skill and devotion to female pleasure make me a very lucky girl.

But that wasn’t last night’s biggest surprise. It wasn’t just the thrills and chills. It was the heady emotional journey that we seemed to take together. His kisses tasted as hungry as mine. His touch was reverent, his words desperate.

Maybe it’s all in my head. A girl can imagine a deep connection that isn’t really there.

I’m a pro at that, actually.

But it felt so real. Even after the last groan and gasp had passed, Anton’s kisses didn’t stop. As I floated down from the extreme high of sexual pleasure, his lips continued to trace my neck, and gentle hands smoothed over my hips and down my back.

That part—the aftermath—was just as beautiful to me. I’d never wanted it to end.

Eventually, he’d gotten up to visit my bathroom. I’d heard him running the sink and washing up. Then I’d braced myself for his departure. His team began an eight-day road trip this morning. It’s not like he had a lot of extra time to share.

But he hadn’t thrown on his clothes and left. Instead, he’d come back to the bed, straightening out the covers we’d tossed around during our sex fest.

Then he’d lifted the covers and slid in beside me.

Feeling blessed, I’d rolled to meet him in the middle, where strong arms wrapped me into the sweetest embrace.

We hadn’t spoken much. I’d felt too dreamy for casual conversation. And I don’t know what I would have found to say besides wow and thank you and please feel free to do that again.

My silence had also prevented me from blurting out the news that the whole experience had been a first for me. That’s nobody’s business but mine. And Anton doesn’t need the burden of dealing with my strange life choices.

I didn’t want him to know, because it would have changed everything. He didn’t baby me. His brand of aggressive, bossy, emotional lust was a real eye-opener.

But only metaphorically, because I refuse to open my eyes.

Although I’d already cheated once, when I’d rolled over to discover that Anton had left me a note—short and sweet and just as perfect as our night together.

Sylvie—you are a sleeping beauty. There aren’t words to describe last night. Except maybe “Wow.” I will call you tonight. —A.B.

And there was a smiley face. When I’d read the note, that smiley face had matched my own.

“Sylvie,” comes Fiona’s voice through the door, followed by a knock. “Are you still in bed?”

“Yes. So?” I cover my eyes with one arm, as if the extra barrier could prevent the day from arriving.

“Get up. We have to go to brunch.”

I search my memory for anything related to brunch and come up empty. “Why? Shouldn’t you be at work?” I stretch lazily.

“It’s Sunday. Get up. You have twenty minutes to shower and get dressed.”

“Or else?” I do not understand the urgency.

“Or else I will combust from all the questions I have for you.”

Uh-oh. Fiona seems to know that I wasn’t alone in my bedroom last night. Maybe she heard Anton leave. But I’m not about to tell the whole team about my wild night. “It’s just going to be you and me at brunch, right?”

“If you don’t get up, I’ll start inviting other people.”

“No!” I throw off the comforter. “Fine. I’m getting up.”

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Forget Me Not by Felice Stevens

Title: Forget Me Not
Author: Felice Stevens
Genre: MM Romance (Cowboy)
Release Date: November 24, 2020

Texas cowboy Shea Montgomery has plans. Big plans. Still mourning the loss of his beloved father, he’s ready to sell the Forget Me Not ranch. He’s finally dusting off his boots, packing up his cowboy hat, and moving to New York City. Maybe he won’t have his horse to ride or a place to call home, but he’s taking his modeling career to the next level and making his dreams come true. First, though, he has to deal with a bunch of corporate types who don’t know the front end of a horse from the back.

Especially this one guy who can’t seem to stay out of trouble.

Or out of Shea’s mind.

Jake Axelrod’s perfect family is shattered when his daughter stops speaking and his husband ends their marriage. Two years later, she remains locked in silence and Jake has closed himself off. His life is structured to the minute, and Jake is convinced he’ll be alone forever, until he’s forced to attend a company retreat at a dude ranch in Texas where he meets a cowboy who sends him spinning out of control.

Jake can’t help falling…off his horse, out of a rowboat, and into Shea’s arms.

And Shea is more than willing to catch him.

Neither man wants to let go, and the time they spend together—whether in New York City or Texas—only makes it harder to be apart. A decision needs to be made: work it out or say good-bye. Jake’s life is in New York, but he can’t walk away from Shea or the ranch, and Shea must decide if the dream of a lifetime will lead him right back to the place where he started, where his heart belongs.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Felice Steven's Forget Me Not is a beautiful romance. As much as I was excited to read this, it's so much better than I could have ever anticipated.

Shea and Jake's romance is amazing. Shea's working on the ranch when Jake attends a work retreat there. And the attraction is instant.

From the start, we see the two sides of Shea's character. He loves the ranch and the work involved. But he's always planned on living elsewhere and making his career as a model full time.

And then there's Jake. He's a businessman through and through who can't resist the handsome cowboy. His experiences on the ranch are anything but impressive. I both felt bad for the man, and delighted by him.

And then there are Jake's issues with his daughter, which is heartbreaking. She hasn't spoken in a couple years and she's the motivation behind every action he takes. When you get to know her, you will love her. She's is a delightful character and her resilience is fantastic. Most of all though is the way she and Shea bond. It will make your heart happy.

Shea and Jake are so perfectly sweet together. I couldn't ask for more from these men. Their relationship develops with many little moments upon more little moments. It's all perfectly natural and charming.

The ranch itself is a character, fully developed and playing a large part in the story. The atmosphere is wonderfully described and the ease Jake and Stacey feel there is beautiful. As well, the author also brings NYC to life, with the many places they go and the busy pace.

The writing is fabulous, with two well developed main characters, and plenty of lovable side characters. I enjoy the obstacles they face, as well as the decisions that have in front of them.

Forget Me Not is a mesmerizing romance. I love every moment of this Felice Stevens tale. And the ending couldn't have been any better.

Felice Stevens has always been a romantic at heart. She believes that while life is tough, there is always a happy ending just around the corner. Her characters have to work for it, however. Like life in NYC, nothing comes easy, and that includes love.

She lives in New York City and has way too much black in her wardrobe yet can't stop buying "just one more pair" of black pants. Felice is a happily addicted Bravo and Say Yes to the Dress addict and proud of it. And let's not get started on House Hunters. Crazy Little Fling (Love & Luck #3) by Isla Olsen

Jamie

It’s not exactly what I’d call the ideal situation—being introduced to your bio-dad’s best mate only to realize he’s the sexy older guy you hooked up with a couple of weeks ago—but it’s also not the worst thing to ever happen in history. The way I see it, this is fate. The universe is throwing Shay Kelly in my path again because it knows how much I’ve been dying for another shag with him.

I have four weeks before I need to go back to London, and I know exactly how I’d like to spend that time. And fortunately for me, Shay’s just as keen for a repeat or ten as I am.

All we need is a few ground rules to keep this little fling in check…

Rule One: It’s temporary

Makes sense—neither of us do the long-term bit. And it’s not like we can continue with this once I move back to London.

Rule Two: No dates, just sex

Easy peasy—sex is the best part of dating anyway.

Rule Three: We keep it between us

Perfect—sneaking around and concocting elaborate lies is a right turn on.

Rule Four: No falling in love

Love? Me? In four weeks? There’s a better chance of me inventing the solution to climate change.

Warning: this book is not appropriate for anyone who doesn’t like laughing, anyone who doesn’t like British slang, and anyone who doesn’t like smokin’ hot older guys and sexy red-haired twinks having lots of sex and trying not to fall in love.

*Happily Ever After included

My Rating - 4.5  Stars!

Isla Olsen's Crazy Little Fling, the third book in the Love & Luck series is a great May to December romance. From the start, with a hot hookup, I knew where this story was going. But who cares? I love it!!

Yes, it starts with a fun and playful hookup. It happens to be one of those hookup where the two men can't stop thinking about each other afterwards.

All in all, this is a hook up between a young man, Jamie and the best friend of his long lost father. Messy? Possibly.

This is a fast paced story, with a big, loud, crazy group of characters. There's a lot going on with tons of characters and not a lot of detail. It's a little too much to follow at times, but it's worth it.

Adding to the fun, the two men live on different continents, thus they are planning on just sex, and nothing more. And then the feelings get involved.

The author gifts us with plenty of humor, especially hysterical and family texts. The whole story is written in a fun and flirty manner. And I love it all. The writing style is wonderful, everything flows perfectly, and the dialogue is great.

Crazy Little Fling is sweet and fluffy! And in the end, this Isla Olsen book is adorable. I love books like this, and continue to love this series.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Never Say Never, the second book in Felice Stevens' Lost in New York series, grabbed my interest immediately. I love the tone of this book, and the charm of both characters. Their careers being entwined the way they are make for a fun read.

Frisco's a wonderful character. A man who always vowed he'd never fall in love, finds himself falling in love with his enemy, Torre. Frisco's past is well developed, and horrible, full of abuse and pain. The betrayal he suffered is heart-breaking.

Adding to the fun is the enemies to lovers aspect, despite the men never realizing they are the other's online enemy.

In the end, I love the way it wraps up. It's a story of found family and it's beautiful.

Once again, the book focuses around the support group for those who have lost loved ones.

Oh yeah, and it's hot too.

Never Say Never is a wonderful story of healing and love. Felice Stevens once again pens a winner with this heart-felt tale.
