Stocking Stuffers - An MM Holiday Romance Anthology - by Various Authors

Stocking Stuffers
An MM Holiday Romance Anthology
with stories by
H Q Kingsley, Meredith Spies, Angelo Diaz, Denise Wells,
Megs Pritchard, J.P. Sayle, Colette Davison, Alie Nolan
An MM holiday romance anthology. A collection of sweet, sexy, fun holiday stories from MM authors.

Fix Me Up by H.Q. Kingsley
Nettles Small and Ian Montgomery were best friends once upon a time…

Nettles Small has retreated to his old family cabin, isolated in the woods for the peace and quiet he needs to write his dissertation. He expects a full two weeks of absolutely no disruptions as he buries
himself in research and lab experiments. But when an outdoor experiment goes haywire and his equipment explodes across the mountain, knocking an unsanctioned snowboarder off his board, his
plans quickly change.

Ian Montgomery is on his way to the winter olympics. he’s trained his ass off for years and finally made it. But on his way to shred down one of his secret slopes, Ian is unexpectedly knocked off his board by an unknown object and the person who rushes to nurse him back to his feet is someone he had never expected to see again.

Jingle My Bells by Meredith Spies

Rowan
Less than two weeks till the winter solstice and somehow it's my fault the witches have misplaced their damned bells. If they weren't such jerks about demon-borns being part of the Grand Council and their plans, maybe they wouldn't need to use the stupid things anyway. But until they're ready to admit that without us, there'd be no them, I guess they're out of luck. It's just dirty pool to send Whitaker Frost, scion of the Frost witch clan and sexiest man alive ohmygods to my shop when I've been accused of hiding those damned bells and endangering the witches' annual winter solstice ritual to maintain their powers.

Whitaker
No matter what Rowan thinks, I haven't forgotten our encounter at the summer solstice, and I know for a fact he hasn't. The way he looks at me when he sees me in his shop just before the winter solstice is enough to set me on fire without the help of any of his demon magic. I don't blame him for being hesitant with me—I am a witch, after all, and witches have been doing their damnedest for centuries to keep demon-born out of magical communities and gatherings. I wish he'd understand that I not only want him in the council, but in my bed, my life...

Jake's Heart for Christmas by Angelo Diaz

Two online friends meeting up for an unforgettable Christmas vacation.

After facing some trouble back home, Declan was more than eager to spend Christmas with his online best friend, Jake, in his hometown of Winterwood. It was everything he’d hoped it would be. The town was friendly, Jake was a ray of sunshine, and the spirit of Christmas was in every corner. What he didn’t expect was the growing connection between him and Jake. The more time Declan spent with Jake, the more the line between friendship and something more started to blur. Maybe
the trip to Winterwood was exactly what Declan needed to find himself again. Now, all he wanted for Christmas was to win over Jake’s heart.

Jake’s Heart For Christmas is a sweet and spicy Hallmark-style Christmas romance featuring best friends becoming lovers, sexual awakening, first times, hot kiss under the mistletoe, and a happy
ending!

Rebel Without A Clause by Denise Wells

I’m the guy who never brings a date to a holiday party. But meeting someone at one is a
different story, apparently. The bartender I undressed with my eyes? Whose touch ignited a fire in my soul when his fingers brushed against mine? He’s the one I’m prepared to break all my own rules
for.

All Wrapped Up by Megs Pritchard

Crispin Jones had known Roan virtually his whole life, but when his disastrous marriage ended, he began to see Roan in a new light. He wasn’t simply his friend anymore. His feelings had changed to
something more.
Christmas was approaching and Crispin had decided that it was the time to tell Roan the truth. The office party seemed the perfect opportunity.
Would Roan accept his declarations of love, or would Crispin’s admission ruin years of friendship between them?

A Christmas Wish by JP Sayle
Can Christmas wishes come true?
Roman Austin is shy, more than a little geeky, and thinks he’s overweight. Past experience has taught him that he’s better off with his nose buried in a book.
Until the boy who left town years ago returns.
Donavan’s return makes Roman face what he’s avoided for years, himself.  With each new revelation, can Roman see what is right in front of him?
Will past secrets and a meddling brother stop Roman from finding love with the one man he never knew wanted him?
A Christmas Wish is a standalone sweet gay romance, a small-town friendship, and a guaranteed HFN.

One Room at the Inn by Colette Davison
Travel photographer, Ellis, is driving home for Christmas, but a freak snowstorm forces him to seek refuge in the Holiday Inn. He doesn’t expect to meet his two best friends from high school there, or to end up having to share a room with them.

Although eight years apart has changed them all, Ellis realises he still has strong feelings for fit footballer, Zev, and loveable geek, PK.

A game of Never Have I Ever and a bottle of Applejack bourbon leads to revelations about their feelings for one another.

Can anything be the same for these three men after an unexpected night of passion?

One Room at the Inn is a friends to lovers, MMM Christmas romance, with steamy scenes and lots of snow.

Until After Christmas by Alie Nolan

Henry isn't a fan of Christmas and usually spends the holiday alone, wallowing in self-pity. Until he gets drunk with his adorable, awkward co-worker at the office Christmas party and somehow finds
himself with Christmas plans for the first time in years.

Callum is tired of his family setting him up with random strangers at Christmas, so when Henry offers to pretend to be his boyfriend for the holiday, it seems like he's found the perfect solution... until
real feelings get mixed up into their fake relationship.

My Rating - 3.5 Stars!

With eight separate holiday romances, Stocking Stuffers is a good holiday anthology. From the first story, to the last, we get a great variety of stories.

I love Fix Me Up, in which Nettles and Ian, former best friends, are reunited through a mistake. Their story is totally sappy, sweet, and will give you all the holiday feels. There's snow, Christmas trees, and family fun.

In Jake's Heart For Christmas, two online best friends meet up and the sparks fly. This one is a mix of GFY, friends to lovers, and some sweet first time kisses and more.

In some of the other stories, we get an insta-love romance between two complete opposites, a sweet menage romance, and more. The writing is great as we get a super fun friends to lovers tale, plenty of spicy first times, and romantic Christmas romances.

Not every story is my kind of read, so I skipped a few, but Stocking Stuffers has something for everyone.

Blurb

On the worst day of Stuart Wilson’s life he has a chance encounter with a stranger on a street corner. He finds himself inexplicably drawn from the second their eyes connected. Over the following decade he has never forgotten the brief encounter, or the eyes that have haunted his dreams.
Finding his life has stalled, though successful and financially independent, Stuart feels his life is sadly lacking that one thing everyone wants, love. Making a decision to change, Stuart uproots himself from his life. On the recommendation of a friend he moves to a small island in the Irish Sea, where Stuart’s life takes several unexpected turns and twists when he offers to help his new boss.

Joe King has it all, or so it appeared, until he made a wrong choice which has left him reeling both emotionally and physically. Devastated by the turn of events he seeks refuge with his friend hoping to find some peace and quiet to lick his wounds. What he finds is an unexpected connection to his past that he struggles to accept. The present situation is hindered by a past he wants to escape that will not let go.

Will they find the true happiness Stuart believes can be theirs? Or will the threat from Joe’s past take away what Joe is only starting to realise could be his future, Stuart.

Guardian cats walk this earth, there to protect—if you are fortunate enough to be blessed by the fates. Princess is one such cat. Having found herself in trouble for breaking the rules, Princess believes that being paired with Stuart Wilson as his guardian is her penance. Unbeknown to her that is not the case.
Things turn ugly when Princess steps in to protect Stuart putting her own life at risk causing her new arch enemy Maximillian, an ancient guardian cat to make a decision that has far reaching consequences for them both. Will she accept or fight the changes, only time will tell.

Warning
The content of some of this book is sexually graphic, with the use of explicit language and adult situations involving two/three males. It is only intended for mature adults. There are also some potential triggers of violence and partner abuse.

Destiny Collides Past and Present is the 3rd book in the Manx Cat Guardians series by JP Sayle. It's creative and interesting with two wonderful main characters.

I absolutely adore Stuart and Joe. Both men have intriguing backgrounds, and it's great seeing how well they come together. Joe's part is front and foremost, as his ex was abusive, leaving him scared and unable to commit, as well as fearful that his ex will find him.

The road for these two is not an easy one, but it's totally worth it. They're both survivors who desperately need someone to love and care for them.

Of course there's Princess, and oh man, I love Princess. She's the guardian cat who's watching out for Stuart, and she's a sassy and fun girl.

With undeniable chemistry, there's some amazing sex scenes. The author really knows how to steam up the pages.

My only complaint is the writing style. JP Sayle is a fantastic writer, with spectacular ideas. However, this writing style isn't my favorite. Full of extreme detail, I prefer less description and a faster pace. But, I know many do love this writing style. That is just my issue.

That said, I still really enjoy Destiny Collides Past and Present, for it's outstanding characters, as well as plenty of humor, and a refreshing storyline. There's action, suspense, sex, and romance. It's a slow burn romance entwined with an emotional ride.

Warning: Seeing Beyond the Scars is only for adult readers as it contains, scenes of a sexual nature between two consenting adults.
There are no cliffhangers but it does connect to the up and coming second book in the series and does have a HEA ending.

Seeing Beyond The Scars is a fantastic novel by JP Sayle.

Do not be scared away if you don't read magic/fantasy type novels, as I don't usually myself. But, this series, despite taking place in a magical/fantasy type world, is very much about the romance and the Manx Cats just add to the story, instead of distracting one from reality.

This tale revolves around Brad, and his new neighbor Martin. And since they might need a little push towards one another, we have Princess, the Manx cat, to intervene a little.

Omg. Brad. I love him. He's been living as a recluse and when he's forced to get out of his comfortable zone, he's so awkward, so funny. And the waxing scene is one of the most hysterical scenes ever. Of course, he's full of insecurities and scars from past abuse.

Their tale is wonderfully written, with a whole lot of creativity and fun. They have a whole lot standing in their way though. But, the attraction between the men is hot and untamed. And, sweet lord, JP Sayle can write an amazing sex scene!

Seeing Beyond The Scars is entertaining throughout. The meaning of the title is absolutely beautiful. I am really enjoying this series.

Where it all Began: Manx Cat Guardians Origins (The Manx Cat Guardians #1) by J.P. Sayle

Blurb

The King of the otherworld, Manannán, witnessing changes to how the love between those who chose differently was being accepted, intervened. Wanting the world to have love and hope eternally, ensuring that soulmates connected without restrictions regardless of the person they chose to love, he created the Manx Cat Guardians.

Maximillian, born in the eleventh century, King of his kind, he struggled to always follow the rules King Manannán had laid down. Given no choice about his destiny like his fellow guardians, he’d been granted a Wiccan guide to aid him.

Never having had any problems with his past charges, Maximillian finds himself struggling to get his current charge, King Óláfr the Black, to accept his soulmate Magnus, a lowly servant. The connection is strong between them, but the changing times that Manannán witnessed and the introduction of Christianity had Óláfr struggling to accept his soulmate.

Ignoring the dire warning from Christina, his Wiccan guide, about interfering, Maximillian finds himself creating ripples from his actions with untold consequences that cause devastation. As he is left to wander this earth, his role irrevocably changed by his actions. He must now ensure promises that were made are honoured, no matter the length of time that passes.

Can he help fulfil those promises made by another without breaking the rules again? Or will the souls searching for love be destined to never find each other?

Only time will tell.

JP Sayle's Manx Cat Guardians Series is wonderful and fascinating. Where It All Began explains how the Manx Cat Guardians came into existance, but focuses on the guardian cat, Max.

Sent to oversee King Olafr and his soulmate, Magnus, Max interferes when Olafr refuses to accept that Magnus, a servant, is his soulmate. The result will leave you crying and your heart hurting. This part of the story is absolutely gut-wrenching, as we see the pain and tragedy involved with same sex relations during the eleventh century.

We also learn how and why Max is now the bearer of two souls, trying to reunite them, setting the stage for the rest of the series.

I read this book last year and was impressed with the creativity that JP Sayle brings into this book/series. Now I am re-reading them, with extreme excitement, after learning more about them from JP herself. I had assumed that they were completely fictional, which of course they are. However, I had no idea that on The Island Of Mann, there is a long history of Manx cats in folklore and mythology. This brings a whole new aspect to the series for me, and I'm excited to re-read them.

Where It All Began is an excellent beginning for the series, and I love it. JP Sayle's writing is emotional and riveting in this powerful tale. I am not a fan of the fantasy genre in general, but this series definitely fascinates me.

This is the prequel to book 1 and 2 in this series and can be read as a stand-alone, but it does make a small reference to book 2 and will connect into book 3, which will be released sometime in the summer.
This book has some themes of violence, along with references to sexual content and one adult situation involving two males. It is only intended for mature adults.

Where It All Began managed to suck me in at the first page, as it is interesting, imaginative and memorable. It is a prequal to the Manx Cat Guardians books, explaining how it all began, and thus answering a lot of questions.

The story is well written, intriguing, including a wonderful historical aspect, that includes the absolute homophobia of the times.

This whole world, created by JP Sayle, is unique, fun and romantic, as the Manx Cats set off to help souls find each other. Where it All Began is a great prequal to the other books in the series.

I previously reviewed Destiny Collides Past and Present.
