People fall in love with their best friends all the time. But for me, the circumstances of this unrequited attraction are even more agonizing.
I am gay.
My best friend, Sawyer, is not.
Since we were fifteen, I've harbored this torturous crush. Now, as we both enter our thirties, it seems time to resign myself to the fact that nothing is going to come of it. Ever.
Or so I thought…
One night, a bottle of gin and a little uncharacteristic self-pity were all the inspiration I needed to launch into a ramble about being alone because I’m bad at everything - even kissing. Determined to prove me wrong, Sawyer decided to shut me up with a kiss.
I know he meant for it to be innocent.
Turns out it was anything but.
Sparks flew as we unlocked a side of Sawyer he never knew existed. Now, more than anything, he wants me by his side forever. But this realization comes with its own set of obstacles. Can we learn to lean on each other as we build a future together? Or will the stresses of our day to day lives tear us apart?

His Heart Knows is a sweet friends to lovers romance by Riley Long.
This one starts slow and took me a while to become fully invested. I found it hard to care about the characters for a little while.
But once I did, I enjoyed their story. It's a bisexual awakening between best friends, with one having long been in love with the other.
Their story is full of hot and sexy first times and plenty of charming moments between the two.
Their story also includes an opposites attract, with a rich versus poor aspect. One's family is high society and controlling, with major expectations. The other came from a poor family that was full of love.
The writing style is nice, but there are some things with the story that threw me off and kept the score lower.
Overall, His Heart Knows is a nice romance with an adorable ending. I'm glad I gave this Riley Long book a chance.
I’ve never been interested in a man before. So why do I want to kiss this one?
Promising my sick uncle I’d help fix his rundown hotel in San Diego was just the beginning of my problems. I plan to do what I can, convince him to sell, and then take off, returning to my calm and structured existence back east. I double down on that plan when I arrive to find it in worse shape than I expected.
Unfortunately, my plans go awry when I fall for the quaint neighborhood, quirky locals, and loyal employees. That’s when he enters my world. A contractor down on his luck, looking for work and a place to stay, offers me an offer too good to pass up.
He makes me feel things I never have before, and now I’m considering hanging around much longer than intended. As long days turn into even longer nights, I can’t force myself to leave him. His presence turns my carefully planned world upside down, and before I know it, my quick trip becomes an Extended Stay.
Extended Stay is a double bi/gay awakening, opposites attract, slow burn romance starring a laid back contractor and the buttoned up hotel owner who hires him. It is book 1 in the California Crush series, featuring tan lines, thick thighs, and plenty of hot guys. Book your vacation and meet the men of Hillcrest Hideaway.
My Rating - 4.5 Stars!
Extended Stay is a great romance by Mia Monroe. The first book in the California Crush series, this one had me entertained throughout.
This is a delightful friends to lovers romance that combines a double sexual awakening and plenty of heat.
Atlas and Rome's story is fun, with some cute stumbling along the way. Their new feelings and developing relationship all happen via forced proximity. I enjoy the way they come together to fix up the old hotel. But, best of all, I love the way everything evolves between them.
The writing is great, fully pulling me into the story immediately. The characters are charming and I can't wait to read more about the secondary characters.
Extended Stay is fun great from start to finish. I love every moment of this Mia Monroe gem.
What's the worst thing you could hear your best friend, who you've always secretly been in love with, say? That would be telling another girl he could envision her being his wife.
I just about died when Gannon Raferty, the boy who used to borrow my pencils in elementary school, said that to the lead of the reality dating show he was cast on. Though he didn't win her heart, he's now a bona fide sensation when he returns to our college and moves back into the off-campus house we share.
The torch I carry for him has always been one-sided; I'm head-over-heels, soulmate-level into him while he views me as a lovable kid sister. So I decide this school year will be the one where I move on, where I finally attempt to open my heart to another. After all, if he can make declarations of undying love to someone he just met, but not to me, that's the biggest wake-up call I could ever receive.
Until one night early on in the semester, when we accidentally sleep together. Because of course he's going to confess his feelings now, when I was ready to give up on there ever being an us.
But just as Gannon starts admitting exactly what I've always wanted to hear, I get devastating news. And suddenly, I don't want to risk losing him as a best friend. I've already lost too many people I love, and am on the brink of adding one more to that list.
If our romance goes south, I don't how I'll ever come back from it. Not only the crushing heartbreak, but the fact that we can never go back to how we were again.
Just About Over You is a riveting friends to lovers romance by Carrie Aarons. I absolutely love this book!
This story includes a group of college roommates and friends. It's messy and complicated at times, but they all have a strong bond that I admire.
Gannon and Amelie have been best friends for what seems a lifetime. Their relationship is strong and seems unbreakable, until it actually breaks.
Their story includes a family crisis that brings the two back together.
Their romance is beautiful. They have a lot of healing to do to repair the cracks in their friendship, but I love how much things strengthen throughout the process.
We first met these two in Then You Saw Me, and damn, we knew immediately that Gannon was in hot water. I never expected him to redeem himself, and was pleasantly surprised with his story.
Just About You is a must read for fans of new adult romances. This Carrie Aarons read is an addicting and compelling friends to lovers tale. I love it all!
Author of romance novels such as Fool Me Twice and Love at First Fight, Carrie Aarons writes books that are just as swoon-worthy as they are sarcastic. A former journalist, she prefers the love stories of her imagination, and the athleisure dress code, much better.
When she isn't writing, Carrie is busy binging reality TV, having a love/hate relationship with cardio, and trying not to burn dinner. She lives in the suburbs of New Jersey with her husband, two children and ninety-pound rescue pup.
What happens when you fall for the one person you can't have?
Ryan has had seventeen years of being compared to Cody, part of his toxic fractured family, so you’ll forgive him for some epic eye-rolling when it comes to Mr Perfect. Although not related to him by blood, Cody has always been annoying background noise in Ryan’s life. It doesn’t help that Cody’s a high achieving musician, while Ryan’s life ambition doesn’t extend past catching the next wave.
One summer changes everything. It’s the summer when circumstances collide, and Cody and Ryan end up spending time together at Cody’s family’s beach house. It’s the summer Ryan teaches Cody to surf and Cody teaches Ryan to play guitar. It’s the summer when they become friends.
And then more than friends.
But when summer ends, Cody and Ryan are forced back to reality, where they must hide their relationship from their warring family members. And as tragedy strikes and family secrets buried deep in the past worm their way to the surface, their relationship is threatened. Can their feelings, which began in the summer sun, survive the winter ahead?
My Rating - 5 Stars!
The Other Brother is a fabulous romance by Jax Calder. I love every single moment of this friends to lovers book.
This book is truly awesome. The set-up is great, as Cody and Ryan aren't related, but they share the same half sisters, as Ryan's mother and Cody's father used to be married. But they aren't related, even if it means things are a little bit awkward.
I love that the two young men grew up barely seeing one another, until they are together at college. It perfectly sets up a situation that seems completely realistic and intriguing. There's also a history between the two and their sisters that cause a lot of animosity and doubts.
The friendship that the two develop is wonderful. It develops naturally and the bond is easily established. I was definitely rooting for these two throughout.
This is a story with some beach scenes, surfing, and a slow burn. It's a story between complete opposites who have a complicated history and a shared proximity.
Adding to the storyline is the extreme tension between the ex spouses and their families. Everyone knows the exes can't be in the same room together, but it isn't known why until the end. And I appreciate the way this all is revealed.
The writing is well done, with the author's writing style immediately pulling me into the storyline. The characters are well developed and the pace is perfect. I am quickly falling in love with this author's writing.
The Other Brother is a riveting new adult romance. I highly recommend this story for the next time you're in the mood for a sweet college romance. I couldn't read this one fast enough and am definitely adding it to my re-read list.

Game Changer is a fun accidental pregnancy romance by Stacey Lynn. The first book in the Las Vegas Vipers series is the start of what looks to be a great hockey romance series.
Everything about this story had me falling in love. I adore the characters and their occasional friends with benefits arrangement. Add in the accidental pregnancy and I couldn't get enough of these two.
If you enjoy friends to lovers romances, you will love these two. Their journey develops over many years, helping to cement a solid connection.
Their story is full of fear, mistakes, and regrets. But most importantly, it's full of forgiveness.
Game Changer is a riveting hockey romance. It's a must read for any fans of sports romances. As for me, I can't wait to see what comes next in this Stacey Lynn series!
Stacey Lynn likes her coffee with a dash of sugar, her heroes with a side of bossy, and her wine a deep shade of red. The author of over thirty romance novels, many of which have been best-selling titles on Amazon, AppleBooks, and Barnes & Noble, she loves being able to turn her vivid imagination into a career that brings entertainment and joy to her readers. Focused on sports romance and emotional, small-town romance, she also loves stretching herself in different genres. Born in Texas and raised in the Midwest, she now makes her home in North Carolina and loves all things Southern. Together with her ultimate tall, dark, and handsome hero, she has four children. Her life is a chaotic mess that fights with her Type-A, list-making, neurotically organized preferences and she wouldn't have it any other way.

Sunday morning came and I slept in. The past few days, including two nights of drinking, had finally caught up with me. I’d stayed up late the night before texting with Link about anything and nothing at all. Like always, that was just how it was between us.
Around ten I rolled out of bed and checked my phone. A few clients had messaged hoping to get in sometime before Christmas. They were smart to book it now. Even though it was a month away, by the end of this week there wouldn’t be any openings.
It was a perfect Sunday, I didn’t leave the house and got everything ready for the week. This week would be the beginning, and it wouldn’t let up until Christmas Eve. I normally worked it, but after this year I’d decided it was time to start taking it off.
I was just settled down on the couch and turned on the TV when my phone rang. “Hello?” “Hey.” I’d know that smooth deep voice anywhere.
“I was just thinking about you.” It wasn’t a lie, since I’d left home Link had been on my mind constantly.
“Good thoughts I hope.”
“Always. It was great seeing you again. I know it hadn’t been that long but it really was nice to catch up again.”
His words brought a smile to my face, and I pictured his blue eyes crinkling at the corners with a grin. “So, are you going to give me any clues?”
“Do you need a clue?” he taunted, and he knew he taunted. I would have sworn I could hear his smirk through the line.
“Link, you know I need a clue. I’ve been racking my brain since Friday trying to remember anything that might help. Why did you let me drink so many shots?”
“Hey, you were having fun, we were all having fun. Who was I to ruin anyone’s good time? And once you started you were all in. Then we were dancing, and well it was a lot of fun.”
Oh god, he was right. It wasn’t unusual for us to all get together before a holiday and have a few drinks, there was nothing that would make me not go all in. “It was a lot of fun, it’s been a while since I’ve gone out.” I wanted to mention his confession, and how he kissed me. But I wasn’t sure how to bring it up, and it felt like something we should talk about in person.
“I’ve wanted to kiss you for years,” he whispered, and I would have sworn I could feel his breath on my neck.
“I think you said that the other night.” My own voice was soft and breathy. I wasn’t sure exactly why, but the mood had changed, and I didn’t want anything to break the spell his words had woven around us.
“Did I?” He played coy, something that was new between us. But I found I was quite drawn to.
“You did, right before you kissed me.” He was quiet then. Too quiet, and I checked the phone to be sure we were still connected. “Link?”

Two great friends. One road trip. And eight inches…
...of snow that night at the cabin.
If I've said it once, I've said it a thousand times. Friends don't bang friends.
I want my friends to stay in my life, especially that flirty, clever, outgoing best friend of mine.
It's a damn good thing Owen and I made a pact in college to never ever sleep together, or else I'd be tempted.
Trouble is, eight years later I've been wondering what his kisses taste like. And I've been curious if our chemistry would extend into the bedroom. If he might feel the same risky pull.
But I don't want to lose Owen, and history says there's no way a tryst between friends can end well.
So as long as I avoid the bedroom with him, I won't break that hard-as-steel rule.
Except the snow has other plans…
The Bromance Zone is a deliciously flirty, red-hot sexy, friends-to-lovers MM romance about the charming guy next door who's sworn to never date a friend, the flirty hot nerd who's been secretly crushing on that friend forever, and one night snowed in in a cabin. This book comes fully equipped for your reading pleasure with sexy banter, a super awkward dinner party, and a scene in front of a fireplace that proves just how dangerous the friend zone is.

The Bromance Zone is the first book in The Good Guys series by Lauren Blakely. It's a deliciously flirty friends to lovers romance.
River and Owen are best friends who take their friendship very seriously. There may be attraction between them but they both value their friendship too much to risk losing it by acting on said attraction. They even made a pact about it.
But now, years later, both regret ever having made the pact. They're almost thirty and nothing comes close to the feelings they have for each other.
Things get interesting when they take a trip together for a holiday with friends. Cue the forced proximity that may just allow them to move beyond friendship, as they get stranded in a snowstorm. Awww, I just love this trope!
I adore these two together. Everything about their friendship is great. They're fun, with great banter and a delightful dynamic. Basically, if you enjoy friends to lovers, you will love these two and their story.
Written in first person, alternating pov, this is an easy read, with a great flow and a charming storyline.
The Bromance Zone is everything I was hoping it would be. This Lauren Blakely romance is the best of friendship, love, and fun times. It's the perfect choice when you're in the mood for an enjoyable, cute tale.
Performed by Audie Winner Vikas Adam and introducing the award-winning Ron Butler narrating as Evan Parker!
