Merry Elf-ing Christmas
By Beth Bolden

merry elfing christmas - ebook-1600x2400

Aidan might be a bad elf, but he’s never been naughty.

Aidan has always landed on Santa’s nice list, thank you very much. But that doesn’t mean he’s cut out to be a North Pole elf; instead of worrying about the dwindling magic of Christmas, he’d much rather be back in Tir na Nog, calculating where the next end of the rainbow is going to land.

Instead he’s freezing his butt off in Santa’s sleigh.

His situation seems grim despite all the decking the halls, until on Christmas Eve, during a milk and cookies run, he meets Dexter, an engineering student.

They couldn’t be more different, and Dexter couldn’t be more forbidden, but Aidan is drawn to the handsome human anyway. Over the next year, their emails start out as a entertaining way to pass the time in all his interminable elf meetings, but soon, hearing from Dex becomes the very best part of his day.

And when they meet up on the next Christmas Eve? Aidan and Dex discover that their infatuation is so much more than just attraction. If they believe in each other and in the love they share, together their magic might be powerful enough to save Christmas.

Merry Elf-ing Christmas is an adorable, magical romance by Beth Bolden.

In this sweet holiday read, Aidan and Dex fall in love. But the two are from different worlds. The attraction is instant between the elf, Aidan, and the human, Dex, when they meet on Christmas Eve.

What follows is adorable and tender, with magical elves, Santa. flying sleighs, and the North Pole.

Merry Elf-ing Christmas is a great combination of holiday fun, instant attraction, forbidden romance, magic, and heat. Definitely check out this Beth Bolden read when you're in the mood for a quick, fluffy read.

Aidan was supposed to be in Ireland.

He was supposed to be counting golden coins, buffing cauldrons and helping his boss, the vice president of Leprechaun Operations, triangulate where the end of the next rainbow would land.

Instead, he was in Santa’s sleigh.

Currently freezing his balls off.

His friend Ronan had said that “weirder things had happened,” but Aidan wasn’t sure that there was much weirder than at the young age of sixty-seven discovering that he wasn’t meant to be at Tír na nÓg, but instead that he’d apparently been born under a unique northern star, under a particular set of circumstances—the same circumstances that a North Pole elf had once foretold would produce the Elf Who Would Save Christmas.

AKA the Christmas Savior.

Aidan was flattered, but the truth was, he didn’t want to save Christmas.

He wanted to find the end of the next rainbow.

Santa—no, Aidan reminded himself, Sam, as he’d introduced himself a few weeks back, with twinkling blue eyes and a welcoming smile—turned to him. “Want to stop for a snack?” he asked.

Aidan actually didn’t. He wanted to finish this interminable night and get off this sleigh and stop shivering, finally.

The magic of Christmas blah blah blah had lasted just about as long as it took for that first blast of arctic air to sneak up the back of his fur-lined cloak.

“Sure, we could get a snack,” Aidan said instead, because he was supposed to be assisting, and as Edmund, head of the North Pole elves, had told him when he’d pulled him aside for one last hissed, hurried set of instructions, that meant Santa got whatever he wanted.

“This night,” Edmund said in that annoyingly stentorian voice of his, “is for Santa. It’s Santa’s night.”

“Sam,” Aidan had responded impudently, earning him one of Edmund’s trademark frosty glares. “He told me to call him Sam.”

Edmund had sniffed, clearly unamused. “If that is what Santa said, then so be it.”

He’d learned that much during his last six weeks in the North Pole; Santa’s word was freaking law.

Even the leprechauns hadn’t wielded quite so much power.

But then with Sam, it wasn’t really power. He ruled with good old-fashioned love, inspiring an adoring crowd who would gladly trample anyone who didn’t feel the same.

The good news was that up til now, Aidan had managed to keep his apathy under wraps.

If Edmund or any of the other North Pole elves ever found out about it, he was screwed.

Sam pulled the sleigh, powered by its flying doohicky—Edmund had forwarded him the complicated plans that he’d glanced over and understood exactly zero of—down through the clouds of Chicago, snow thick on the ground.

Somehow, eventually he’d have to actually be able to take the sleigh apart and put it back together, or so Edmund had told him, but he’d been given a pass since it was just his first year. Aidan wasn’t particularly looking forward to it.

Invisibility was one of the elves’ greatest strengths, and their camouflaging magic helped keep the sleigh under wraps. It was the one thing the North Pole and the Tír na nÓg elves had in common: they were really good at making things disappear.

Still, you had to be careful, as Edmund had lectured Aidan about a dozen times. The sleigh might be invisible, but if they landed in a snowbank, the tracks would show. And if anyone ever bumped into it, the invisibility would fade, abruptly, exposing their secrets to humans.

AKA The Worst Thing Ever.

Sea of Love by Nic Starr

Goodreads Link

The cruise of a lifetime. A reality TV show about romance. Falling in love is inevitable.

Evan Williams is the type of guy to stick by his friends, especially when they’ve been hurt and need a favour. And if that favour involves the cruise of a lifetime, then how can he say no? Even when it means pretending to be a devoted boyfriend to Amber and having their fake relationship play out on a reality TV show for all the world to see.

Realizing his boyfriend is a conceited jerk and dumping him doesn’t stop Harry Bishop from winding up as one half of a supposedly loved-up couple on the Sea of Love TV show. And if that’s not bad enough, he’s faced with temptation in the form of Evan, the perfect blend of boy-next-door-meets-sexy-stud he once crushed on. It’s going to be a long two weeks.

Two weeks of competitions, challenges, and confrontations. They’re here to take out the Sea of Love title—just not with each other—and there can only be one winner. But it turns out that true love isn’t about winning a contest; the real prize comes when you follow your heart.

Sea of Love is a feel-good romance featuring hidden attraction, fake relationships, and friends-to-lovers.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Sea of Love is exactly what you'd expect from the blurb. This Nic Starr read is a cute, sweet, easy read.

Evan and Harry are acquaintances who run into each other on a cruise. Problem is, it's a couples cruise/reality show and they are both pretending to be in a couple with someone else. Cue the forbidden relationship aspect.

What follows is adorable as the two spend time together and their feelings grow. They are wonderful together and sex is hot.

The reality show is the background for this story, but there isn't a whole lot of that being shown. It's there as a means to bring the men together and to add some obstacles in their way. But don't expect a lot of the show details or drama.

The writing is great, with a good pace, lovable characters. and a delightful storyline. The secondary characters fully come to life and add immensely to the tale.

Sea of Love is a great choice the next time you're in the mood for a cute romance. This Nic Starr tale is and perfectly sweet and fluffy.

The Fireman's Pole by Sue Brown

Sparks of passion ignite between the lord of the manor and the hot, new firefighter. But when Ben’s home goes up in flames, will Dale be in time to save his life?

Dale runs from the big city to a rural fire station to nurse his broken heart. But he immediately incurs the wrath of the handsome lord of the manor when he knocks over the village maypole.

Ben is used to people avoiding him. But the sexy, new firefighter is not like everyone else. Everywhere Ben goes; Dale is there too, and Ben can’t ignore the magnetism between them.

Will Ben ever forgive Dale for knocking over the maypole? Will Dale wait for Ben to disentangle himself from a relationship he was forced into? Will the villagers, the fire fighters, and the staff at the manor house, stop interfering in their relationship?

So many questions and no time to answer them, as an arsonist’s crimes are escalating, and Dale is worried that Ben could be his next target.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

The Fireman's Pole is a delightful opposites attract romance by Sue Brown. Part suspense, part romance, I couldn't put this one down. From the first sentence, the tone and writing style had me hooked.

The combination of small town, opposites attract, and an arson investigation is well done.

Ben's nobility, a  Lord who owns the whole town. When the tale starts, he has a girlfriend who we know early on is not one he loves. The poor man is closeted and fighting it every day. Upon meeting Dale, he finds himself facing a man worth coming out for.

This is the tale of Dale who refuses to be forced into the closet and the Ben who's never been out. This is a story with a destroyed May Pole, town traditions, and a smart "girlfriend." It's also a tale with a ruthless businessman.

The Sabrina part of this story definitely surprised me. I expected it go a completely different way, and was pleasantly surprised with the way it carried out.

The arson part of the story is a good light mystery, as well as something for the men to work on together.

This book was exactly what I needed when it feel into my hands. It's nothing too deep, something a little bit different, and an easy read. We all need stories like this at times.

The Fireman's Pole is a great read. Sue Brown completely surprised me with this little gem. From start to finish, I feel in love with these men and their story. I highly recommend it when you're in the mood for a sweet, fluffy romance.

Only the morning after doesn’t quite go as planned.

When Eli and Jack reunite in a twist of fate, will they ignore their sexual chemistry?

Or will they find what they’ve both been looking for in each other.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Rescued Alpha, the sixth book in the Billionaire Alphas series is easily read as a standalone. Skye R Richmond once again delights with this Omegaverse read.

Jack and Eli make for a great couple. I love the way their relationship develops and unfolds.

Their tale is one of found family, including finding a man who's a single dad. The secondary characters, including some cute kids, are wonderful and absolutely delightful.

It's a low angst, heartfelt romance that will leave you sighing happy sighs throughout.

Rescued Alpha is an entertaining, fluffy romance. Skye R Richmond perfectly combines sweetness and heat in this delightful read. It's a quick, nice read that any Omegaverse fan will enjoy.

Naughty and Nice by D.J. Jamison

Why can't I forget your kiss...

Dear Quinn,
Why must I have these feelings for you? You're my ex-stepbrother, and nothing will change that truth, no matter how many letters I write.
I never expected to see you again--or to rescue you from the side of the road in a blizzard. I didn't think you would ever like me, much less kiss me in a steaming hot tub on a snowy night. It seems we make better lovers than brothers, which is all kinds of naughty and nice while we're snowed in together.
But can this new intimacy last when the skies clear and my family finally arrives for the holidays, or are we just two guys in a mountain cabin with a great view of everything we want but can't have?

Hopelessly yours,
Jonas

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Naughty and Nice is a fantastic New Adult holiday romance by DJ Jamison.

Jonas and Quinn are two former stepbrothers who can't escape their attraction to each other. Add in some forced proximity, as they're stuck cabin in the snow leading up to the holidays, and let the fun start.

This is a tale loaded with attraction and lust, as the two face their past. It's a tale of second chances between some strong willed men.

We met Jonas back in Secret Admirer, where he was a total player at his college. He has a strong independent streak. Meanwhile Quinn is running from some past mistakes.

And then there's Jonas' family, who are fantastic, loving, and add a lot of charm of this read.

Naughty and Nice is just fun. I love this sweet, low angst DJ Jamison tale. It's a perfect read when you're in the mood for a fluffy holiday romance.

Jacob Meyer’s string of bad boyfriends left him cynical about love. Instead, he focuses on his studies as a third-year law student. With a new job waiting for him, he’s eager to graduate and move on.

On a school-sponsored trip, Nick and Jacob meet in a most unexpected way. When Nick tells Jacob his secret, they decide to hang out, just as friends. But their attraction is too strong to ignore, and they soon begin dating.

As the national media descends, university officials try to figure out how to solve their “problem.” Their efforts divide Nick’s team, inflame fans, and put Nick and Jacob’s futures in jeopardy. Will the men be able to
survive a plot to destroy them without derailing both their careers?

Nice Catching You is an out-for-you romance featuring a lot of love, exciting hockey, and a beautiful holiday. There’s also plenty of steam and a very happy ending.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood's Nice Catching You is a sweet, fluffy holiday romance. Nick and Jacob's tale is one of two college men, forced proximity, and coming out.

They meet on a bus trip, and get stranded together during a storm. The attraction is instant and they can't fight their chemistry for long.

The meat of the story is Nick's closeted status as an athlete. Their relationship takes heat and is an obstacle for many. But it's sweet and heart-warming and will give you all the holiday feels, despite some rampant homophobia.

The angst is there, but it's never overwhelming. You can just feel they will work things out. Overall, it's a lot less angsty than I was expecting.

Nice Catching You is a quick, easy Out For You romance.  This Ryan Taylor and Joshua Harwood tale is fluffy and will leave you in a good mood.

JACOB

Sunday, December 4

I haven’t been on many buses, but I was starting to think I might die on this one. The snow began falling before we left Whiteface Mountain early in the afternoon, not unusual for one of the top ski resorts in the Northeast. We were due in Syracuse before six, and I hoped the weather didn’t delay us much. The last week of classes would start the next day, and I had work to do. The snow was coming down hard, and by the time we reached I-87, I could see very little
out the window. Many of the cars had pulled over to the side, and others were creeping along with their hazards flashing. Our bus joined the traffic and immediately began slipping all over the road.

With fifty-odd college students on the trip, there had been a lot of noise when we left the resort, but nerves had soon taken over, and people were mostly quiet now. I sat alone, three rows from the back of the bus, trying to read a case for Federal Courts. With only one more semester of law school to go, I needed to do well. A big firm in Boston offered me a job right before Thanksgiving, contingent on my maintaining a 3.8 GPA. Pulling a C in Fed Courts would bring me slightly under the requirement. Although I had high hopes for a job in DC, I couldn’t risk
losing the Boston offer.

Between the bus sliding in the snow and the constant chatter from the guys in the seat behind me, I couldn’t concentrate at all. They were hockey players, and they kept up a conversation about the game, other players, cars, and whatever else dumb undergrad jocks talk about. They were the only people behind me except for their friend, who was passed out on a seat in the back.

Whoa! The rear end of the bus lurched violently into the left lane. I tried to grab something to hold onto, but I was already airborne by the time I dropped the heavy casebook. Hands grabbed my shoulders but didn’t slow my momentum. Dreading the impact with the seat across the aisle, I screwed my eyes shut and held my breath. All at once, something stopped me. Rather, someone stopped me, and that someone had brawny arms and a hard body. He’d caught me in midair.

“You all right?”

“What?” On my back in the man’s arms, facing the top of the bus, I couldn’t see much. I turned my head, trying to find out who had hold of me.

“Everything okay?”

I craned my neck in the other direction just as he leaned over, and it was—shit!—one of the hockey guys who’d been sitting behind me. I’d seen him over the weekend with his buddies, at least one of whom had laughed at me the whole time. Now they’d laugh even harder, and I’d be known as the skinny little runt who couldn’t even stay in his seat—the twit who had to be rescued by a real man.

My Rating - 3.5 Stars!

Volley is a simple sports romance by Lynn Michaels.

I adore Ace and Robby, but there wasn't much to this story. I would have loved MORE of them. There's a little jealousy, a little competition, and some hot sex.

I kept expecting something more to happen, but it never does. I think I would have preferred reading more about the sexual tension that lead to their relationship and then some more tension during this stage of their relationship. Instead, the book is a sweet low-angst sports romance. It's not a bad book, it just isn't what I was expecting.

Overall, Volley is perfect for anyone looking for a fluffy sports romance. This Lynn Michaels tale is a short and sweet read.
