Cherish the Land (Lang Downs #5) by Ariel Tachna

Blurb

Sequel to Conquer the Flames
Lang Downs: Book Five

Seth Simms never wanted to be a cowboy, although to listen to his best friend, Jason Thompson, tell it, he isn’t one. He just happens to have lucked out in coming to live on Lang Downs with his brother ten years ago. He found enough stability to finish high school and go off to university, but he never really believed Lang Downs would be the same haven for him that it had become for so many others. He’s too messed up in the head. No one would accept someone with his issues.

All his life, Jason has had one goal: to come home to Lang Downs as resident veterinarian when they need his skills and jackaroo when they don’t. And it means he gets to spend time with Seth during his occasional visits, even though his dream of going from friends to lovers is hopeless since Seth is straight.

When Seth unexpectedly comes home to stay, Jason takes it as the boon it is. But juggling a relationship with another jackaroo and his friendship with Seth isn’t easy, and that’s before Jason realizes how deep Seth’s issues run and how dangerously Seth chooses to cope with them.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Ariel Tachna's Cherish the Land is a fantastic read. The fifth book in the Lang Downs Series, it is easily read as a standalone.

Seth's a mechanic who works at Lang Downs. When his best friend Jason shows up after being away for years, everything starts to change.

Jason is back home as the new veterinarian. He's just trying to be one of the guys. Seth has long been in love with Jason, leaving him unable to be with another man. These are two best friends who are in love, but won't tell one another.

This story is one that explores the fear of running a friendship by dating. They experience frustration, homophobia, and a tragic death.

This story involves cutting, so beware if that's a trigger. This part was a tough read, and had me tearing up. I found it to be written with compassion and care.

Overall, Seth's lack of self worth is gut wrenching. I just wanted to wrap him up in my arms and hug him forever. Seth's broken, full of insecurities and doubts, shame and fear. Seth doesn't know permanence and doesn't trust in it

"Everybody leaves."

This tale is definitely not an easy read. It's a story of proving your devotion and not letting the one you love run scared. It's about finding a home; a safe place where one can feel secure.

Cherish the Land is a sweet and tender friends to lovers romance between best friends. This Ariel Tachna book is well written and absolutely riveting. I couldn't put it down. I love this series and all the guys of Lang Down.

Blurb

They could relocate, but Beau’s mother has Alzheimer’s and can’t be moved. And then there’s the tiny issue of Jacob’s infant son, Finn, and his mother, whom Jacob wed out of duty. In short, they are stuck.

But Beau has a long-term plan, and he’s prepared to swallow his fears and compromise with Jacob, because sharing stolen moments is no longer enough.

Omg. This book. Ariel Tachna's Stolen Moments is an amazing read. It's an extremely touching and emotional read.

Beau and Jacob are two closeted men in a conservative, Southern town. After having a long time affair, they haven't seen each other in a year. Reunited now, all the old feelings and chemistry are still there, as well as all the problems.

Their story is full of regrets and pain. Jacob's stuck in a marriage with someone he doesn't love, and Beau is regretting everything that he did to get Jacob into that situation.

Their story is sad; just so damn sad. These are two men who are in love, and who work so well together, but can't be out and proud in their small town. Both are stuck in a complicated situation, leaving my heart breaking for them. As far as when they get to spend their stolen moments together, they are super hot.

My favorite line is "Change requires a catalyst." And even better yet, is the importance of this line in their story.

Of course this story's heavy on the cheating, so avoid it if that's a hard limit for you, as this is a story of an ongoing affair.

In the end, it's a happy ever after as these two struggle to work out their issues. Eventually, they work to figure out what's right for them and the life they want. They have to deal with some homophobia first though. But the ending is magnificent and completely heart-warming.

Stolen Moments definitely isn't for everyone, with all the hiding, sneaking around, and lying. But I love it. It's a worthwhile emotional read about personal growth and taking chances.

Exploring Limits: Book Two
For three actors in a committed gay ménage, balancing work, sex, and romance might be their most challenging role yet.

Already in love with Exploring Limits, I am thrilled to get a chance to read No Limits, Book two in the Exploring Limits series by Ariel Tachna and Nicki Bennett.

The three men are all together now, but they still have problems to face.

They have to deal with Devon's former abusive dom, as Devon learns to move on from his past, both physically and emotionally.

They have to deal with some differences in what each man wants and can handle. There's emotional and physical pain as they find a way to meet everyone's needs.

And they have to figure out what to do when filming ends and they go their separate ways.

Throughout their story, you'll find some hot DP, some emotional fisting, and a marvelous MMMMM scene. Enjoy!

If you're looking for something sexy, steamy, and kinky, No Limits is a must read! Although this book is sex, sex, sex, and more sex, each scene adds to the story and strengthens the bonds of their relationship. I truly fell in love with this trio and love their story.

My Rating - 4  Stars!

Nicki Bennett and Ariel Tachna's Exploring Limits is a great menage with some BDSM and a whole lot of hot scenes.

I would classify this as mostly erotic book, as there are more sex scenes than not. But, the overall storyline is interesting and very compelling. Three actors who are working on a set together. Yum!

When Devon and Kit team up to get Jonathon to join them for a night, they have no idea what they are starting. Ends up Jonathon, who's never been with a guy before, really enjoys being with his co-stars. The story develops nicely, but with long sex scenes in between.

The sex scenes are steamy, but they also add greatly to the developing relationship between the men. The title is perfect, as the men are constantly exploring what they like, don't like, and how far they can take things sexually. They are into some light BDSM and each man has to figure out both their own limits, as well as understanding the other men's limits.

It ends with a HFN situation, but with more to follow. I look forward to reading what happens next. Each man is at an interesting time in their lives, such a divorcing, and wanting to introduce his lovers to his child. As actors, they have to sneak around, or decide when to come out as a trio to their castmates.

Exploring Limits is definitely worth a read if you enjoy menages that develop around the sex.

Far from the shy twink he appears, Owen has a rock-solid foundation that helped him put himself through college and start his own business. Behind Derek’s strong façade waits a tender heart that’s been battered by a rough family past—something Owen understands.

Ariel Tachna's Rebuild My Heart is a remarkable romance.

Derek finds himself enamoured by his client, Owen, who's house he's renovating. As the two are clearly attracted to one another, Owen fears things are moving too fast.

This tale is emotional and wonderful, as Derek and Owen face sharing their darkest secrets. They both have fears and insecurities. They both have family issues and
bring baggage to the relationship. Owen has major family issues that he needs to be honest about. And Derek feels inferior and insecure, as he still wears the scars from his father's homophobia.

Derek's relationship with his father and stepmother is heartbreaking. Owen's troubles with his family is gut-wrenching. His father is a homophobic preacher who uses barbaric practices. The story of his nephew is terrifying and such a great addition to their tale.

Together, they face complications, sacrifices, and decisions. They will deal with their fears and insecurities, and they will learn the true meaning of family.

Rebuild Your Heart will take you on an emotional rollercoaster. You'll laugh, you'll cry and you'll smile. I definitely recommend this story.
