Forbidden Ink (Get Ink'd #6) by Ali Lyda

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

I’m not a deadbeat.
I didn’t know my kid existed before Milo showed up, but now that I do, I’m determined to keep my beautiful little Sofie in my life. Even if it means I need to spend time around her irritable uncle, Milo. The man pushes all of my buttons.

He riles me up until I can’t think of anything except kissing him. Definitely not the reaction he expects. He’s not out, but I’m not the type to hide. Is there any way to make it work for our new family?

Family means everything.
Eryk’s a cocky playboy. He’s not good enough to be my niece’s father, but unfortunately, DNA says otherwise. Father or not, I’m not about to walk out of little Sofie’s life.

Which means I have to walk into Eryk’s even though I can’t stand him. So why is he so hard to resist? I decided on a closeted life a long time ago. It’s the only way to stay safe and successful. Could I bring myself to step out of the closet if it means having the true love of a family?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Forbidden Ink is the sixth book in the Get Ink'd series by Ali Lyda. It perfectly continues this fantastic series, but it's easily read as a standalone.

There's a lot going on in this enemies to lovers story.

Milo and Eryk meet in an unusual way, as Milo has to bring his niece, Sofie, to meet her father, Eryk. To say that Milo hates Eryk for his reputation is an understatement.

The enemies to lovers element definitely drives this story, as the two have so much animosity between them. Milo's jealous that Eryk is out and proud. Milo doesn't think Eryk's fit to be a father. And more.

There's custody issues, as well as attraction issues. And I love how it all develops. I adore seeing the small ways things start to change, and the ability to put the child first.

Milo and Eryk are an interesting couple. Milo wasn't quite father material himself, but both men learn to put the child first. The chemistry between the men is too strong to ignore, and the men are certainly hot together.

Of course, there's the elephant in the room that some readers won't be able to ignore. Cause yes, Milo is interested in the man who fathered his sister, Maya's baby. I know a lot of people who don't like someone sleeping with their sibling's ex. But, honestly, I barely felt that issue in this book. Eryk's night with her was just that. One hookup that meant nothing to him. They were never a couple. No feelings were ever involved.

I do struggle with Milo's sister's decision to not tell Eryk that he's a father until she's on her deathbed. That is just something that always pisses me off. But, as this story isn't really about her, I can let that go.

There's a large issue when it comes to Milo's feelings about Eryk's sexuality. His insecurities and jealousy over Eryk living openly while Milo is closeted and hiding is felt throughout. Milo's frustration and anger are well illustrated and this is a large part of his character. I appreciate where he's coming from and ultimately love the way it's all resolved.

Forbidden Ink is a wonderful romance. Ali Lyda puts a lot of interesting issues into this story and I love it. Hell, I love anytime an actor feels forced into being closeted. Those are stories that just seem so realistic, so I definitely love that aspect. And the rest is just gravy on top!

Messy Ink (Get Ink'd #2) by Ali Lyda

Dane

Chris is a great doctor, but he can’t heal me…

I learned to look out for myself on the streets and in juvie. I’ve cleaned up my act, but it doesn’t mean that I’m about to start trusting a guy to stick around. Especially not a clean cut doctor like Chris. No wonder I ended things between us the first time around.

I’m sure it’s for the best. A guy like me can’t have a guy like Chris, no matter how much I want him. I’ve done too many bad things, and now karma is coming back to bite me. But every time my path crosses with Chris, I can’t help but wonder what might have been.

Chris

Is Dane too broken to try again with me?

I knew Dane was a player when we hooked up the first time, and I thought I didn’t want strings. But the smoking hot tattoo artist makes me want to break the rules and try something new. His past is full of pain, and I’ve got commitment issues of my own. It’s no wonder we didn’t last.

Dane has hidden depths, and my heart still beats like crazy every time I get close to him. If I let him get too close he could hurt me all over again - but maybe I’m ready to take a risk. Can we overcome the odds and make things work?

Messy Ink is a 70k m/m romance that gives you steamy second chances, a bad boy tattoo artist learning he’s worthy of love, the doctor who’s ready to mend his heart, and tons of gorgeous ink all wrapped up and ready for reality TV.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Wow, just wow! Messy Ink is an amazing book by Ali Lyda. The second book in the Get Ink'd series, it is fabulous.

Chris and Dane are fascinating characters who grabbed my attention from the start. Good god, I love them. Dane has walls around his heart like Fort Knox. He won't risk getting his heart hurt again, leaving him unwilling to let anyone in at all.

This is a tale of living a life of shame. Dane's past is heartbreaking and will leave you loving him just a little bit more.

Their story includes a sick mother, money problems, a reality show, and a sexually aggressive producer. And of course, their journey includes many appearances by the rest of the Get Ink'd crew.

Messy Ink is a fantastic emotional read. This Ali Lyda book is a worthwhile hurt/comfort read that contains a hard fought journey towards love. And I love it all!!!

Get ready for the 3rd installment in the Get Ink'd series, Old Ink!

This is the story of the Get Ink'd owner Reagan and a college student Channing.

This is a steamy May/December story...I hope you are ready

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Old Ink, the third book in the Get Ink'd series is amazing. This Ali Lyda read is everything I was hoping it would be. Having long been intrigued by Reagan and Channing's story, it is as good as I was hoping it would be .

I love Get Ink'd and all the Get Ink'd family. Of course they continue to be present in this part of the series and continue to entertain.

Good god, I have been waiting for Reagan and Channing's story and it certainly doesn't disappoint. We've long known that these two have something between them, but we also know that Reagan has been fighting off the younger man's advances. Now, two years later, Channing is back and is still interested in his older boss.

Reagan is at a changing point in his life, as Channing is unsure of his future. Their story explores desires and passions. It's a story of self worth. Their story is tender and romantic, everything these two who long pined for each other deserve.

Seriously, their story is mesmerizing. Reagan has valid reasons for denying the younger man, but he's hard pressed to deny the attraction. He doesn't want to hold the younger man back, or down, and it's not easy to come to terms with how to have something between them.

Channing's past is awful, but luckily there's not too much of his hardships detailed in this book.

Of course, even once they give in to their feelings, things won't be easy. There's some of Reagan's past that threatens to come between them, as well as their own issues.

And then there's the physical side of things. The author includes some extremely emotional sex in their tale. It is beautiful and touching and everything I could have asked for.

Old Ink is another amazing Ali Lyda book. As an avid fan of Ali's books, I am thrilled with the way Ali delivers this long awaited love story.

Misbehaved (Mischief Book 1) by Ali Lyda & Simon Strange

He got on my nerves when I was his teacher … but I never knew he was such a brat …

I’ve been out of the kink scene for years, but when I’m invited to a meetup at Mischief I can’t resist. It should be too far from home for anyone to recognize me. But it’s not. Hunter is a blast from the past: a student who failed my class twice and never stops acting out. But there’s more to the acting out than meets the eye, and the brat could use a daddy with a firm hand.

I’m the daddy for the job.

Meet Mischief, a kink friendly community full of daddies, boys, puppies, jocks and more! Get your first taste of the lifestyle when Carson and Hunters reconnect in this steamy m/m romance featuring Daddy/brat age play, an age gap, and a healthy dose of enemies to lovers in the mix.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Misbehaved is an entertaining Daddy kink romance by Ali Lyda and Simon Stranger. The first book in the Mischief series, it looks to be a great series.

This is the story of Carson, a professor, and Hunter, a student who has shamed him in the past. The background for the two is interesting, and the resolution is beautiful.

Carson and Hunter are reunited at a sex club and things are awkward, yet hot, as they deal with their situation. Hunter and Carson are interesting on their own, people who certainly shouldn't be together, yet somehow they work.

I have to admit that the beginning is a little confusing at first. I actually thought I had missed a previous book. But it doesn't take long for the reader to get caught up to the situation.

Hunter has a family situation that is heartbreaking. Dealing with his homophobic, religious father has caused him a lot of pain. His character growth throughout is wonderful, as he deals with his self worth and pride.

This is a story of finding someone who makes you feel like you are worthy. It is magnificent in the way Carson brings life to Hunter. Their past is messy, and the strength of their new relationship is truly inspirational in the way Carson forgives Hunter. Seriously, Carson's ability to look beyond what Hunter did is amazing.

Carson is a man torn between what he wants and what he desires. I enjoy the way his struggle is developed, as being with Hunter is a threat to his career.

Written in alternating 1st person pov, the emotions and motivations of both men are front and center. The author adds plenty of humor in addition to the kink.

Speaking of kink, this is a story with cock cages, orgasm denial, and some serious heat. The Daddy/boy dynamics are well done.

Misbehaved is 229 pages of sexy fun with an emotional relationship throughout. Ali Lyda and Simon Strange collaboration is fantastic story of self acceptance.

Daddy Ink (Get Ink'd #1) by Ali Lyda

He’s raising a baby, not looking for love …

I don’t want a serious relationship, and certainly not with the single dad next door. But one look at Gordo? I’m smitten. Even though I might be a tough looking tattoo artist, I know that the ink does a lot to hide my own insecurities. It doesn’t matter how much Gordo seems to like me - I can’t bring myself to make a move.

Talking has never come easy to me - and I mean that literally. But Gordo doesn’t seem fazed by my speech problems or the mess in my head, and soon we’re forming a deep connection. But I learned a long time ago that nothing lasts forever … and when a blast from Gordo’s past shows up, it proves that everything was too good to be true.

At least, that’s what the old me would say. This time, I know that Gordo and his little baby are worth fighting for. I’m willing to walk through fire to get what I want. But can a tattoo artist with a checkered past really be any guy’s happily ever after?

Daddy Ink is the first of the Get Ink’d m/m romance series. The Get Ink’d crew are misfits from all walks of life who come together to create amazing art. They’re a family born of love, loss, and ink. In this first in series, ambitious single dad Gordo has met his match in heavily inked Javi, and sparks are ready to fly.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Daddy Ink, the first book in the Get Ink'd series, is a beautiful hurt/comfort and neighbor romance. I found myself sucked into the writing style from the start.

Gordie's a single dad who's struggling with those early newborn days (and nights.) It doesn't help that his neighbor keeps throwing loud parties.

Oh, Gordie and Javi's first meeting is awesome, definitely entertaining to the reader, but confusing to Gordie. What follows is a fun journey full of awkward times and attraction, fears and hesitation. And a whole lot of character growth!

Ends up his neighbor Javi isn't anything like Gordie is expecting. Javi's a tattoo artist who doesn't talk much because of a severe stutter. His entire life has been shaped by this speech impediment.

I love these two complex men. Gordie's a man who has been burnt by his ex and is struggling to open his heart again. And then there's Javi. My heart instantly went out to the vulnerable Javi. He's been a victim of bullying,  he volunteers teaching ASL, and his backstory is horrible. But in the end, it's so beautiful how he naturally knows what to do with the baby and easily steps in to help the exhausted new dad.

Yes, I fell hard for Gordie. And I guarantee you will too!

Written in alternating 1st person pov, the reader is fully brought into the characters' heads. Every doubt and fear, every moment of attraction and want, every single feeling is well developed. I couldn't put this book down.

Daddy Ink is an complex, yet adorably sweet story with a sweet ending. Everything about this Ali Lyda book worked well for me and I look forward to seeing what the future books in this series are like.
