Worth the Wait by Joelle Lynne

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Growing up together meant life should have been easy, but it wasn’t.

Shane was confident and proud, but couldn’t figure out why a relationship just wouldn’t stick. There had been very few constants in his life. These were limited to his best friend Christopher and his younger brother Michael.

Shane and Michael had always shared a special bond, but when Shane decides to figure out why he can’t keep a stable relationship, Michael can’t keep his secret any longer. There had always been something there, but he lacked Shane’s confidence.

Can they work past their struggles and prove their relationship was always Worth The Wait?

Worth The Wait is a small-town romance that follows what happens when you fall for your brother's best friend. It's a sweet story with plenty of heat!

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Worth the Wait is a best friend's brother romance by Joelle Lynne. I quickly feel in love with these men and couldn't put this story down.

I love this book. It's a wonderful brother's best friend story that's sweet and tender.

Shane and Michael have been longing for each other, but even if they can admit their feelings, things won't go seamlessly.

Of course, Michael has his insecurities that leads to some light angst. It all makes sense though and never feels forced.

I appreciate that Michael's brother isn't upset about his best friend being with his brother. It's a nice change from the usual forbidden relationship.

Written in alternating first person pov, the characters fully come alive, with every emotion being felt by the reader. And damn, the author brings plenty of heat, including some hot rimming.

Worth the Wait is a fantastic best friend's brother romance. This Joelle Lynne tale had me happy throughout. I'm thrilled to have gotten to read this book and am adding it to my re-read list.

Resisting the shortstop has never been my strong suit. I failed at it during my first spring training. It sure as hell looks like I'm about to fail at it again.   The sport I love playing with my very soul hangs in the balance. But everything my heart craves lies with the guy I've got to resist.   A guy who's asking me to make the toughest choice ever.   But how do I become the man I want to be...with him or without him?   Trouble is, I can't seem to get Declan out of my head, even if I stand to lose everything I've worked for my entire life...

Winning with Him is book two in the utterly addictive Men of Summer series, and should be read following Scoring With Him. This romance between two professional athletes spans five epic years.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Winning With Him is an awesome sports romance by Lauren Blakely. This one had me addicted from the start and I couldn't put it down.

Declan and Grant are two pro baseball players who start to fall in love. They agree to do long distance, but that doesn't last too long. And damn, cue the emotional turmoil. I was all in already.

So many emotions!

This is a story of fear and doubts. It's a story of two men who spent the years thinking about one another, but have to suffer through the ups and downs.

The men are at different points in their careers. With a MLB career, it's hard to make time for a long distance, sort of closeted relationship. And the storyline brings out all the feels.

One awesome surprise for me with this read is that the men aren't closeted. It's refreshing to read about pro athletes being out.

Both men are complex, with complex lives and complex upbringings. Their lives include an alcoholic father and everything involved with this. Their lives include knowing you were never wanted by your parents. Both leaves one with a whole lot of baggage.

And damn, it's super steamy. Love the chemistry between these two!

Winning With Him is a fun read. If you enjoy sports romances, be sure to check out this Lauren Blakeley gem. You won't regret it!

Gabe wants Alec between the sheets…too bad Alec’s undercover already…

Rich kid. Party boy. Gabe is tired of the labels. He’s a smart guy, but ever since he got kicked out of grad school, people are only interested in his no-limit credit card and his pierced ears…and other places.

Tall, dark, and scowling Alec hates Vermont, with its artisanal-freaking-everything and its irritating people. To be fair, most people irritate Alec, including the FBI director who sent him here to investigate a smuggling scheme involving yoga mats.

When one of the cutest twinks Alec’s ever seen takes an interest, Alec knows there’s an ulterior motive. No one with multi-colored hair, piercings, and an ass like that would want boring, serious Alec. The kid must be up to no good. Either way, Alec can’t blow his cover. If only he could keep his hands off of Gabe long enough to find out what he’s up to…

Can they ignore their explosive chemistry long enough to foil a smuggling ring? Or will their budding relationship sink faster than a yacht full of contraband?

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Undercover is a good small town romantic suspense by Eliot Grayson. The fourth book in the Vino & Veritas multi author series, it's easily read as a standalone.

Alec's working undercover when he meets Gabe. Of course, it's a conflict that Alec is investigating someone close to Gabe. Yikes!

Their story is definitely enjoyable, as they connect well, but have some issues to deal with. Not only is Alec lying, but the truth is ever looming over their heads.

This is a story with secrets, suspense, and danger. There's also some humor and steam, including a hot rimming scene and some lace. Good god, I love the manties and lace aspect!

The investigation and action part of the story is decent. It wraps up quickly but it all works for me.

My main complaint is that I didn't get to know the characters as well as I would have preferred. I would have loved some more development there to help me connect with them more.

Undercover is a sweet small town romance. This Eliot Grayson tale fits in well with the rest of the series and is a fun, short read.

I swallowed hard, not missing how his eyes flicked down to my throat for a second, and finally found my voice. “What do you want?” I’d tried for challenging, but it came out husky and a little plaintive. Like I’d really said something more like, Looking for a good time?

He took another step, putting him squarely into my personal space. I caught a faint thread of the scent of him, leather and man, just like I’d imagined. Oh God.

“I’m kind of new in town,” he said, still staring right into my eyes. I pressed my hands back against the side of the building, concrete rough beneath my sweaty palms. “Where does a guy go to have fun in Burlington, anyway? You kind of look like you’d know.”

He looked down, pointedly doing a sweep of me from my purple Chucks, up my skinny legs, over my chest—lingering there for a second; could he see the outline of my right nipple piercing through my shirt?—and back up to my ear piercings and multicolored hair. He landed right back on my eyes again. His own seemed wider and darker. Dilated. Yeah, he liked what he’d seen.

Fuck it. Maybe there was something wrong with me—okay, I knew there was something wrong with me. I always went for the wrong guys, and this was wronger than usual.

But fuck it, seriously. I’d never been cornered in a park by a guy who looked like he could break me in half, and maybe I’d been missing out. Not like I could get away if I wanted to.

And I really, really didn’t want to.

Let Me Love You (Love Permit #1) by Gianni Holmes

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

What happens when a guy who constantly needs rescuing meets his Prince-not-so-Charming?

After bailing on his corporate kingdom due to a very public scandal, the last thing Tate expects is to bump into temptation in the woods. A five feet four, one-hundred-and-twenty-pound guy who reeks of a damsel in distress. In other words, Tate’s kryptonite.

When a sprained ankle leaves him trapped in the woods, Bryan has no option but to accept help from the only man within miles around. But there’s just so much to do in a cabin before boredom kicks in. With only one bed, one brooding inexperienced hunk, and a few days for his injury to heal, it's only a matter of time before things heat up.

Just when Tate starts opening up to Bryan, an unexpected turn of events throws Bryan in the face of danger. To rescue him this time, Tate must leave his fortress in the woods to return to society. Will their brief encounter be enough for them to survive what lurks in the city?

Full of playful banter, lingerie, heels, a slight age gap, devious friends, stubborn exes, mystery, and intrigue, this book will give you a thrilling and swoony experience.

Please note, this approximately 100k word book was previously published as Falling for Mr. Corporate and My Dear Mr. Corporate. Over 20k words have been added to the story for a dual POV of the section which was formerly Falling for Mr. Corporate. Also newly edited.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Let Me Love You is the first book in the Love Permit series. Gianni Holmes has revamped the previously released Falling For Mr Corporate and My Dear Mr Corporate and added more to the fun. And what a story it all is!

There are essentially three parts to Bryan and Tate's relationship.

First, they meet in the mountains, after Bryan has had enough of his abusive boyfriend/boss. Ugh. That man is such an ass. With Bryan alone and needing help, Tate meets him and ends up helping him out.

What follows is an instant attraction, as the two men quickly fall into bed. And damn, they are hot together.

Tate's a recluse, with his past slowly revealed. The way Bryan helps heal him and bring him back to life is wonderful.

I love this quote. "Sex is easy...Relationships are different, and I'm not sure I'm any good at it."

Second, once Bryan is ready to return to the city, they have to try to make things work, juggling all the insecurities and doubts involved. Bryan doesn't want to be a kept boy and is desperately trying to make himself self sufficient, while also trying to be with Tate.

As for the heat, there's lots of it, including some sexy lingerie and some hot rimming.

Third, there's action and danger, with plenty of twists and turns. There's abuse, assumptions, and plenty of manipulation.

Both men have a lot of healing to do. Tate's getting over the death of his wife and daughter, but there's a lot involved with that situation and it isn't easy for Tate to deal with.

And then there's Bryan, who's struggling to deal with the abuse he suffered from his ex, the long term effects of his upbringing, and his need to be dependent.

All the while they're still dealing with Bryan's ex and plenty of issues with Tate's family business.

I love the author's writing style and her well developed characters. It's easy to fall in love with these men and root for them through all they have to deal with. My only complaint, if I had one, would be the completely different feels for the different parts of this book. It's a little strange, but I didn't let it bother me.

Let Me Love You is a wonderful mix of hurt/comfort, healing, and suspense. Gianni Holmes will definitely leave you turning the pages throughout.

Your Kind of Man (HeavyLoad! #2) by J.J. Harper

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Jem Hayes has a penchant for lacy underwear and makeup.
Nate Allinson likes pretty men and spanking, preferably at the same time.

He doesn’t want a man for more than a scene.
He doesn’t want a warm body for more than one night.
He doesn’t want “more.”

Until Jem.

With his slim body and beautiful face, Jem pushes every one of Nate’s buttons.
After one night of passion and an empty bed in the morning, Nate knows Jem is the one.
Running out was the dumbest thing Jem could have done. He felt the connection but bolted all the same.

Fate brings them back together, but their relationship is put to the test when Jem’s ex returns.
Can Nate’s love heal Jem from his abusive past?

Your Kind Of Man is an MM romance and book two in the HeavyLoad! Series. It contains lots of lacy panties, numerous spankings, and plenty of sexy shenanigans.

The book can be read as a standalone but will be enhanced by reading book #1 My Kind of Man.

Warning: This book contains a small amount of violence.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Your Kind of Man is the second book in the Heavyload! series by JJ Harper. Book one, My Kind of Man, started the fun off with a hot age play read. This time we get a Daddy relationship that's not your typical Daddy read.

The series can be read as standalones, but the characters are all friends and appear in each others books, so just read them all and enjoy!

Jem and Nate's story is hot from the start. These two definitely have some amazing chemistry. But their relationship isn't all easy going.

Everything starts with a scene between them, and continues when they run into one another again. They naturally work scenes together well, and both find it all extremely hot.

Neither man is looking for a relationship, but everything just sort of leads them in that direction.

Jem is a pretty boy who loves lace, some makeup, fancy clothes, and heels. He's also a boy who's last relationship was abusive and has left him insecure about himself. He needs a Daddy in real life, and Nate is willing to try. But he struggles between being a Daddy versus a Dom. The angst that this brings about is natural and well explored, including the way Jem's past affects him with Nate.

I am impressed with the way the Daddy versus Dom is developed. It's not something I have read much of, and I found it interesting, as well as compelling. The result of their journey is some major character growth.

Jem and Nate are intense with their love. Their need, want, and connection jumps off the pages.

This tale has a major off page trigger, so avoid if rape is a hard no for you.

Your Kind of Man is a beautiful tale of learning to balance your boy's needs. JJ Harper perfectly explores the fine line between being a boy's Dom versus being his Daddy. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a unique Daddy romance.

Summer Rivals (Online, Book 3) by C.K. Blake

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

VINCENT:

I’ve hated Landon ever since high school and after leaving my hometown, I never thought I'd see my biggest rival again.

Imagine how shocked I am when I bump into Landon a decade later. I guess some things don’t really change because we almost get into a fight after just one interaction.

I can't seem to get away from this former varsity jock. Fast forward a few months later, I end up at a destination wedding with him.

Sure, we’re at a gorgeous vineyard,

But staying in a room together? (Really?)
Having to share the same bed? (Uh-oh…)
With the guy I hate most in the world? (F*ck)

Now that we're older, can we set our differences aside and finally mend the past? Or will things never get better no matter how hard we try?

This may be the most unexpected summer ever, but I expect things to only get hotter from here.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Summer Rivals is an enjoyable enemies to lovers romance. The third book in CK Blake's Online series, I am thrilled with this addition to the series.

It's a fun story, with two stubborn men and their stubborn ways. As with the theme of the series, Vincent and Langdon get to know one another online before discovering they know each other. And damn, I love when they do make this discovery.

For me, the story started out on the slow side, but once I felt a connection to the characters, everything picked up quickly.

The way the men meet up in real life is entertaining and the way they still hate one another is delightful. The development into becoming friends is natural and well done. Hell, what's not to like about someone asking a hot man if he wants to have hate sex?

It's always fun when two people realize the reason they hated one another was because of their attraction. As teens, they naturally fought their attraction, never wanting to be out at the time. Now, years later, sexuality isn't an obstacle, but the two still need to balance their competitive ways.

Their story is one of sexual awakening and a whole lot of sexy firsts. I love that Vincent realizes his attraction to Landon and works to overcome his issues. These two make for a great couple, definitely meshing well and offering some good growth to each other.

I love the writing style in general and the author's writing of dialogue has definitely improved. There aren't as many instances of frequent "he said."s. Since I love the author's characters and  storylines, I am excited for this development.

Summer Rivals is a delightful enemies to lovers story that's sweet and swoon-worthy. CK Blake definitely left me satisfied with this cute and feel good romance.

Misbehaved (Mischief Book 1) by Ali Lyda & Simon Strange

Amazon Link - Available in KU

He got on my nerves when I was his teacher … but I never knew he was such a brat …

I’ve been out of the kink scene for years, but when I’m invited to a meetup at Mischief I can’t resist. It should be too far from home for anyone to recognize me. But it’s not. Hunter is a blast from the past: a student who failed my class twice and never stops acting out. But there’s more to the acting out than meets the eye, and the brat could use a daddy with a firm hand.

I’m the daddy for the job.

Meet Mischief, a kink friendly community full of daddies, boys, puppies, jocks and more! Get your first taste of the lifestyle when Carson and Hunters reconnect in this steamy m/m romance featuring Daddy/brat age play, an age gap, and a healthy dose of enemies to lovers in the mix.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Misbehaved is an entertaining Daddy kink romance by Ali Lyda and Simon Stranger. The first book in the Mischief series, it looks to be a great series.

This is the story of Carson, a professor, and Hunter, a student who has shamed him in the past. The background for the two is interesting, and the resolution is beautiful.

Carson and Hunter are reunited at a sex club and things are awkward, yet hot, as they deal with their situation. Hunter and Carson are interesting on their own, people who certainly shouldn't be together, yet somehow they work.

I have to admit that the beginning is a little confusing at first. I actually thought I had missed a previous book. But it doesn't take long for the reader to get caught up to the situation.

Hunter has a family situation that is heartbreaking. Dealing with his homophobic, religious father has caused him a lot of pain. His character growth throughout is wonderful, as he deals with his self worth and pride.

This is a story of finding someone who makes you feel like you are worthy. It is magnificent in the way Carson brings life to Hunter. Their past is messy, and the strength of their new relationship is truly inspirational in the way Carson forgives Hunter. Seriously, Carson's ability to look beyond what Hunter did is amazing.

Carson is a man torn between what he wants and what he desires. I enjoy the way his struggle is developed, as being with Hunter is a threat to his career.

Written in alternating 1st person pov, the emotions and motivations of both men are front and center. The author adds plenty of humor in addition to the kink.

Speaking of kink, this is a story with cock cages, orgasm denial, and some serious heat. The Daddy/boy dynamics are well done.

Misbehaved is 229 pages of sexy fun with an emotional relationship throughout. Ali Lyda and Simon Strange collaboration is fantastic story of self acceptance.
