The Hitman's Guide to Righting Wrongs While Causing Mayhem (The Hitman's Guide #4) by Alice Winters

Leland
Growing up, I was taught that getting too close to someone would be my downfall. But I’ve proven that wrong now that I’m happily married to Jackson, the greatest man in the world. The issue is that mayhem always seems to find me (which is definitely not my fault), and this time, it comes in the form of a woman looking for her daughter. What starts as a simple missing persons case turns into so much more, forcing me to rely on my found family and others, including a muscley “bear” who will definitely not whisk away my husband with his irritatingly sexy accent—I mean, yes, I’m very focused on this case… Jackson, don’t look at me like that.

Jackson
While Leland is “code potatoing” (whatever that means on his strange cheat sheet), I’m left questioning what he’s gotten himself into this time. At least he’s willing to let me assist him, even if he’s still positive that I should just “sit pretty” and let him handle everything. But with the girl missing, he knows we need to work together to determine whose game we’re playing because not everything is as it seems. Of course, when one gets involved with Leland, nothing is ever simple. But maybe that’s just the way I like it.

Contains: speed walking up way too many stairs while holding pointy objects, feel-better cookies that didn’t turn out quite right, Spanish that definitely isn’t Spanish, and lots of long-suffering people being swept up in Leland’s shenanigans once more.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

The Hitman's Guide to Righting Wrongs While Causing Mayhem is the fourth book in Alice Winter's amazing series.

I smiled throughout this book. I snort-laughed throughout this book. Basically, it is absolutely fabulous and is a perfect addition to the world of Leland and Jackson's world.

Leland's obsession with his babies is something I didn't know I needed in my life. But, omg, these moments are everything!!!

And let's not forget about all the secondary characters. I love them all. Henry, Cassel, Kevin, Mila, etc.

This book is full of sarcasm, banter, and snark. It's also full of scary situations that are all carried off with light-heartedness.

Overall, I can't get enough of this series and these characters. Alice Winters is one of the best at writing charming, off color characters who leave you laughing and smiling throughout all their antics. It just doesn't get any better.

RELEASE BLITZ, EXCERPT, GIVEAWAY & REVIEW - Egotistical Puckboy (Puckboys #1) by Eden Finley & Saxon James

EGOTISTICAL PUCKBOY

Puckboys - Book One

by Eden Finley & Saxon James

Release Blitz

Release Date: February 10, 2022

Genre: M/M Sports Romance
Trope: Hate to love

EZRA

Partying, dudes, and hockey. What more could a gay NHL player want?

If it weren't for Anton Hayes, my life would be perfect.

Not that he affects my life in any way. At all. That would imply I care what the winger from Philly thinks of me.

Which I don't.

Not even a one-night stand with him can thaw his misplaced animosity toward me.

He says I'm the one with the ego, but he can talk. He rivals me for most egotistical puck boy in the league.

I hate him as much as he hates me. Even if I crave a repeat.

ANTON

When it comes to hockey, I'm all about the game.

I've worked for years to be one of the best in the league, and l've done it without splashing my orientation all over the tabloids.

My hockey image is one I've carefully cultivated, and after one night with Ezra Palaszczuk, I risk it all.

He's cocky, obnoxious, and has an ego bigger than Massachusetts. And okay, maybe he's the sexiest man I've ever known.

We'll never get along. Not when we sleep together. Not even when my possessive streak awakens.

That doesn't stop us from falling into bed together over and over again.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Omg! I absolutely love Egotistical Puckboy. The first book in the Puckboys series by Eden Finley and Saxon James, I was hooked from the first page.

Everything about this book is amazing.
The characters.
The storyline.
The relationship.
The friendships.

Starting off as enemies, Anton and Ezra are ruthless to one another. And once they are on the same team, watch out.

This story is full of pranks that had me laughing out loud, sex scenes that had me swooning, and a beautiful progression from enemies to lovers.

This story leans heavily on the aspect of being openly gay in the hockey world. On a positive note, there isn't any homophobia. Instead, it's the desire to not be simply known as the gay hockey player that keeps one closeted.

The gay support group adds an emotional layer I wasn't expecting. These men have a comaraderie unlike anything you will normally see. There's no need to worry about being afraid of accepted into this group; you just are. And the bonds they have are unbreakable.

Ezra's issues with his family are tough to read. His father is nothing but a piece of shit. I was so happy to see Ezra find support elsewhere.

Every scene, every chapter is fabulous. But the ending is the best. Omg, I couldn't stop laughing at the last clubhouse scene!!

Egotistical Puckboy is a must have for fans of hockey romance. This Eden Finley and Saxon James tale is an immediate re-read. I love it all! And I can't wait to see what comes next in this series. Whatever it is, it's sure to be great!!!

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Playing at Home is a great sports romance by Jax Calder. The second book in the Sporting Secrets series, it's easily read as a standalone.

Jacob and Austin's story is a boss/employee story, as Jacob hires Austin as his nanny. I love the way everything develops between them, as they go from strangers to friends to lovers. The attraction between them is instant, and the chemistry is sizzling.

Both characters are wonderfully developed, with their pasts adding greatly to their depth. I love the differences between them, as well as all the doubts and insecurities.

Their journey is a slow burn one, with low angst. They certainly have some obstacles to overcome, all of which are realistic and natural.

The writing is great, with a nice storyline and plenty of banter and charm.

Playing at Home is a sweet, quick read. This is another delightful read by Jax Calder. I highly recommend this to any sports romance fans.

PAH Teaser 3

“Are you okay if I ask Jen to babysit next Saturday night?”

My eyebrows knitted together. “Why, where’s Austin going to be?”

“Austin and I are going out together.”

My breath left me. It felt as if I’d been kicked in the guts. This is what I’d worried about right from the start. Matilda starting something with our ridiculously good-looking manny.

But now my guts were clenching not just because of my concern about the instability for the girls if Matilda started something with Austin. This was a whole other level of distress.

Hell. I scraped my hands through my hair.

Could I really blame Matilda for being attracted to Austin? No. Not when I suffered from the same affliction.

“Do you think that’s a good idea?” The words came out half strangulated.

Her forehead rumpled. “Why isn’t it a good idea?”

“I mean…I just don’t think it would be good for the girls…if you and Austin…”

Matilda’s frown morphed into a smirk. “Are you worried about me and Austin? Seriously?”

“I just don’t think it’s a good idea to get involved with our manny, that’s all.”

Matilda’s smirk remained. “I think you’ll find I’m lacking one major thing that Austin looks for in a partner.”

“What’s that?”

“A dick.”

My eyebrows flew up, and Matilda giggled.

“Oh my God, you should see the look on your face right now.”

I tried to keep my breathing even. “Austin’s gay?”

“Well done, I’m glad you managed to put those clues together.”

Fuck. My stomach was auditioning to be a somersault performer right now. At the same time, my heart raced harder than if I’d just played a full eighty minutes of a hard game.

Matilda’s smile faded. “What’s wrong? You’re not homophobic, are you?” Her eyes narrowed. “You can’t be. You’re fine with Beth and Charlotte.” She named her cousin and her cousin’s partner.

No, my physical reaction had nothing to do with the fact Austin was attracted to members of the same sex as him.

It was because the fact that I found him so attractive wasn’t quite as innocent anymore.

Yeah, I wasn’t exactly about to tell my soon-to-be ex-wife that.

“I’m not homophobic. What Austin does in his private life is his own business.”

“I totally agree. And that’s why I’m going to help him find someone,” she said. “I’m going to take him to the gay-friendly nightclubs and be his wingman. He deserves to have some fun. Hopefully he’ll manage to pull someone.”

My stomach twisted as I considered that possibility.

Of course he’d pull someone. Austin was gorgeous and charming and funny and sweet…yeah, that feeling inside me, the one that made me clench my teeth, it felt like…jealousy. And more than just mild jealousy. This was a fiery burn in my gut as I imagined Austin smiling at another guy.

Which I was fairly sure wasn’t what I was supposed to be feeling right now.

Ghost of Lies (Medium Trouble #1) by Alice Winters

Amazon Link - Available in KU

Hiro
Though I was born with the ability to see the dead, I struggled with it until my brother was killed and his ghost was left behind. Now, I’m determined to figure out who is responsible for his death… the problem is that Detective Maddox Booker, the one working the case, is a grumpy and stubborn man who wants nothing to do with me and definitely doesn’t believe in ghosts. It doesn’t help that I keep finding myself looking ridiculous in front of the detective, thanks to interfering ghosts who enjoy laughing at my expense. Still, the more I’m around Maddox, the more I realize that beneath that surly exterior is a kind and caring man who will do anything to help.

Maddox
When another man dies, I know we have a serial killer on our hands—the same murderer who has remained elusive for a year and a half. To add to my frustration, I keep running into Hiro at crime scenes only to hear him claim that he can talk to ghosts. The words of the dead could lead us to the serial killer and even tell us who is next, but ghosts? There’s no such thing as ghosts. Hiro is determined and charming, and no matter what I do, I can’t stop letting him get involved. He's definitely snagged my attention, but when he nearly winds up dead, I know he's getting closer to the truth—and if I don’t do something soon, he might be next.

Ghost of Lies is full of action, mystery, humor, and romance. Though more is planned for this couple, the mystery is solved and there is a happy ending.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Ghost of Lies is the start of the Medium Trouble series. This Alice Winters book is riveting from the start and looks to be the beginning of another fantastic series.

From the start, this book grabbed me, with humor and plenty of charm. Good god, I fell for Hero immediately.

This gem is a romance mixed with a murder mystery, a medium, ghosts, action, danger, and non stop laughs. It's full of hilarious banter and wit. Hero and Maddox are simply hysterical together. But add in Hero's friends and omg, I can't get enough of this story.

The romance is great, with the two slowly falling for each other, and the sarcasm and attraction between them being amazing.

As for the mystery, well damn. The author kept me guessing throughout, with plenty of twists, turns, and surprises.

Let's be honest; there's nothing else quite like an Alice Winters' story. She manages to keep humor throughout, all while getting her characters falling for each other with non stop banter and non stop innuendoes. The storylines are always fast paced and intriguing, keeping you up late into the night.

Ghost of Lies is another stellar book added to Alice Winter's catalog. Just read this one and read all her books if you haven't yet discovered her genius. You won't regret it!

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - MF - Wildflower (Speakeasy Taproom #5) by Mae Wood

Cover Design: Elle Maxwell Designs

When the prize is love, sometimes you get stung. But if you’re lucky, you just might hit the sweet spot…

Juliana Burton needs a medal at Speakeasy's beer festival to push her brand-new, woman-owned brewery into the spotlight. She thinks she knows just how to do it, too--with a beer made exclusively from Vermont ingredients. Hops, check. Barley, check. But what she really needs is the best honey in the state. Too bad the only thing standing in her way is six feet tall, smokin’ sexy, and her secret high school crush.

After a very public disaster in Boston, Riggs Lyon is home with his teenage son in tow.  Riggs is taking over the family beekeeping business with an eye to offload it and start life over somewhere where "Lyin' Lyon" isn't a joke. Selling honey to Juliana doesn't make business sense. She can't afford the high prices Lyon honey fetches in specialty shops and farmer's markets. But somehow, he’s having trouble saying no to anything she asks him for, whether it’s in the hive or in the bedroom.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Wildflower is a great enemies to lovers romance by Mae Wood. The fifth book in the multi-author Speakeasy Taproom series, it's easily read as a standalone.

This story revolves around Juli and her friends opening a brewery. To help her get the beer she wants, she needs help from Riggs; the very same man who she's had a crush on since she was a teen.

These two are fun together. I love their connection and chemistry. They are definitely good together, but they have some obstacles to overcome to earn their happily ever after.

Their story is full of bees and beer, as well as banter and barbs. I love the way they go from being stubborn and butting heads, to being friends and then more.

Good god, the beekeeping scenes had me freaked out. Yikes! And Juli's innocence about them had me in stitches.

Overall, these two really help each other, both in business and who they are as people. I love that they benefit one another financially as well as personally. It's nice seeing the way they change when together.

I continue to enjoy this small town series, finding both the characters and their stories charming. There are plenty of secondary characters to add to the fun and keep things interesting.

Wildflower is a delightful romance. Mae Wood had me intrigued from start to finish. Definitely give this book a chance the next time you're in the mood for a sweet romance.
