BOOK TOUR, GIVEAWAY & REVIEW - MF - If The Broom Fits by Sarah Sutton

If the Broom Fits
by Sarah Sutton
Genre: YA Contemporary Romance

Halloween really is the worst.

Blaire’s got to be the only person on the planet who hates Halloween. At least the only person in her small town, which practically worships the holiday. Ugh. And it doesn’t help that her super-hot ex-boyfriend, Lucas, is determined to convince her otherwise by making her take part in “festive activities.” Apparently carving pumpkins and watching scary movies is going to magically change her mind about the holiday? Yeah, right.

But Blaire has never told anyone the truth of why she hates Halloween or the truth about why she broke up with Lucas. She’s definitely never told anyone about how much she second-guesses that decision. Being around him is so much harder than she thought, especially when it looks like he's starting to move on.

And when she gets a letter in the mail from someone who broke her heart, can Blaire overcome the negativity drowning her? Or will her bitterness and secrets push everyone she loves away?

My Rating - 4 Stars!

If The Broom Fits is another great young adult book by Sarah Sutton.

For this book however, I am struggling with actually calling it a romance. Yes, Blaire is struggling with her ex, Lucas. Yes, they clearly will end up back together again. And yes, Lucas makes for a fantastic young man. But, to me, this is more of a coming of age tale, as Blaire has to deal with family issues and her subsequent fears and insecurities. Blaire is dealing with how to handle problems with her father, and how to move forward with things.

When the story starts we don't know why Blaire has broken up with Lucas. The author reveals things over the course of the book. Personally, I wasn't surprised with the reason and had assumed that was the case early on. So, don't expect much mystery.

All the characters are likable, including Blaire and Lucas's mutual best friend, who is in an awkward spot yet handles it better than most teens would. Honestly, I was shocked at how much I loved their friend.

Also, if you enjoy Halloween, this read will definitely get you into the enjoyment of the season. The author spares no expense at illustrating fun Halloween events.

I absolutely love the way the Sarah writes. Everything flows wonderfully and I find the tone soothing. Her characters are always well developed and the storyline always intriguing. This one is no different.

If The Broom Fits is a worthwhile read. Sarah Sutton once again captures teenage life and drama in a way that is compelling and intriguing. At it's heart, this is a beautiful story, executed in a sweet, cute, and emotional manner. This book is perfect when you're looking for your next coming of age tale.

REVIEW - Out of my League by Sarah Sutton

Out of My League
by Sarah Sutton
Genre: YA Romance

It’s all fun and games until someone catches feelings.
Sophia Wallace is convinced her life is over when her high school cuts the journalism program. Without the elective, she loses her chance to intern with the biggest newspaper company in the county, and why? All because the baseball team needs more funding.

To make matters worse, her boyfriend publicly dumps her at a party, which is mortifying. But the icing on the cake is when the captain of the baseball team and the most popular guy at Bayview High, Walsh Hunter, decides to be chivalrous. He jumps in, throws his arm around Sophia, and declares his undying love for her. In front of everyone.

Suddenly, Sophia is thrown into a world of fake relationships and undercover journalism, and she realizes she’s way, way out of her league.

Good thing she’s got the team captain to teach her how to play.

But faced with choosing between saving her journalism class or her newfound feelings for Walsh, will she strike out or hit a home run?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Out of my League is another fantastic young adult romance by Sarah Sutton.

This story revolves around a newspaper article, a fake relationship, and some undercover work.

Sophia starts fake dating the "It" boy at school, Walsh, all to help her write an article. I enjoy the slow burn nature of their romance. The author slowly brings these two from strangers to friends to more. They naturally connect and things develop into a romantic relationship without any intention.

As for the title, it's a perfect fit. Sophia is definitely out of her league in many areas of her life. Nothing is going the way she expects it to, everything is just something foreign to her. And all along the way, she ends up finding solace in the popular Walsh.

The writing style is fabulous, with a refreshing first person pov, all from Sophia's perspective. Only her second book, I am hooked to Sarah Sutton's writing. The storyline is great, full of some good twists and turns, and a sweet romance.

Out of my League is a wonderful young adult romance. This Sarah Sutton book will impress anyone who loves an intriguing contemporary YA book.

BOOK TOUR, GIVEAWAY, & REVIEW - MF - What Are Friends For? by Sarah Sutton

What Are Friends For?
By Sarah Sutton
Genre: YA Romance

FALLING IN LOVE ISN'T COMPLICATED...UNLESS IT'S WITH YOUR BEST FRIEND.

A close, easygoing friendship can all change with just one kiss. Seventeen-year-old Remi Beaufort learns this the hard way when she plays a blindfolded kissing game at a party.

She thinks she’s kissing Jeremy, the totally hot basketball player she’s been crushing on. And the kiss…it’s amazing. Heart-stopping, world-changing, toe-curling. The kiss makes her forget about her overbearing mother, the next-door neighbor’s drama, and the probability that she’ll fail her senior year. The best kiss of her life makes all that fall away.

Until her blindfold falls off, and she realizes that instead of kissing her crush, she’s kissing Elijah, her best friend since third grade.

Though she manages to convince Elijah that he was kissing his girlfriend, Remi can’t get the thought of his lips on hers out of her head. As things between them grow more and more complicated—because it turns out her fantasizing about his mouth is more of a problem than it sounds—Remi has to make a choice: does she live the rest of her life loving her best friend in secret? Or does she tell the truth and risk ruining their friendship forever?

Heart-melting and romantic, What Are Friends For? is a swoon-worthy best-friends-to-lovers story that will leave you crushing hard.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

There are certain books that fall into your life at the ideal time. Sarah Sutton's
What Are Friends For? is one of those books for me. It's an impressive young adult romance that had me engrossed from the start.

This romance between best friends Remi and Elijah is intriguing and charming. The issues are realistic and emotional. The relationship, it's mishaps, it's obstacles, and it's ultimate progression are wonderfully done.

A first time author, I'm very impressed with the author's writing. She does a fantastic job capturing the voice of the characters, and excels in her storytelling process. Making things even better, the parents actually contribute to this story, and they do so in a wonderful way. Told in first person pov, the reader is easily drawn into Remi and her emotions. Everything develops nicely and I adore the way everything wraps up in the end.

Overall, the book is developed in a manner that fully pulls the reader in, and executed with the reader feeling everything the main character feels. Real situations, dimensional characters, and plenty of likeable secondary characters make this a story to love.

I always enjoy a great young adult romance, and this is definitely going on my re-read list. What Are Friends For? sucked me in with it's charm and I found myself having to read it in one sitting. I love it all and am excited to see what Sarah Sutton writes next.
