Pencilled Hearts (Alcott Main, #1) by K.A. Sands

Blurb

Previously included in Because He's Perfect Anthology, Pencilled Hearts contains an additional 5k content and can be read as a standalone.

Ollie is five-years-old. He loves chicken nuggets, red ear defenders, and his rainbow coloured pencil case.

He loves his daddy, because his daddy is perfect.

He thinks he might love Jack too, because Jack kissed his daddy and made his daddy smile.

And Jack has a cat called Wolf.

Alcott Main is teeming with people with a myriad of stories to tell. Pencilled Hearts is the first in this brand new mini series from K A Sands. A short, sweet 20k read to make you feel good.

KA Sands' Pencilled Hearts is a beautiful love story, not just between Jack and Lewis, but also between Jack and Lewis's son, Ollie.

The writing is wonderful. It's short but sweet, and it's absolutely compelling and riveting.

I love, love, love their first kiss.

Jack and Lewis have a strong attraction. Their story is one of finding a way to move on after losing one's wife; finding a way to start living again. It's a story of finding that someone who is made for you; of starting over and truly moving forward.

The author conveys ASD is a knowledgeable, sensitive, and realistic way. She expertly illustrates the way ASD not only affects the person with it, but also affects the caregiver.

Pencilled Hearts is a short, emotional, and quick second chance at love romance. Read it. You'll love it.

Balance by K.A. Sands

Blurb

I should have died the day my world imploded around me. Instead, I was delivered into the hands of Will Grady; the first time I met ‘the one that got away.’ A schoolboy error by my hand had him running from my life before I could destroy his too.

The second time we met, he was wrapped around the body of another man, lips locked. No kind words were forthcoming, and I let him walk away, scared to follow.

Third time was a charm and my turn to repay a kindness. When lust came out to play - I couldn’t resist. But I didn’t have the means to give him what he needed, and when he walked away again, I deemed it was for the best.

The fourth time I met Will Grady, he looked as good then as he ever did, even if I thought he was a figment of my imagination. When he found me again, he was still beyond my grasp. But something changed; I was no longer willing to let the man who had held my attention all these years, walk away another time. Chance meetings were not an option.

I held on with both hands, almost losing the one thing I loved most, because without Will, life didn’t bear thinking about. Could I balance what I had with what I wanted and come out the other end on solid ground? There was nowhere to run. I wanted him, he wanted me. But could he love the half-broken man I’d become?
I was ready to hand over my heart. Would he take it, or finally break it?

Only one way to find out…

KA Sand's Balance is a phenomenal story packed with bad timing. This amazing story of Grant and Will's romance took me on a long, emotional journey.

Meeting in a hospital Will, a nurse, sees something special in the wounded Grant. It doesn't take long for him to give into acting inappropriately, starting these two men on a long journey towards love.

Will and Grant's love story is many years in the making. Repeated missed opportunities and complications, and always each other's "one that got away," these two doesn't need just a second chance, but rather a lifetime of chances. To say their journey is problematic is an understatement. Always separated by heavy issues, the reader is repeatedly gutted as can be. Always unable to provide what the other needs at the time, their reasons for being apart are realistic and painful.

Grant suffers from PTSD and had a leg amputated, so his burdens are many. If these are a trigger for a reader, note that the story does not focus on these issues, but rather just works around them.

Their story includes abuse and control by an ex that is heart-wrenching. It includes breath play that some may like and some may not. But most relevant, their story includes pain, hurt, broken hearts, and more. These men have been though so much;a happy ending is exactly what they deserve.

KA Sands is an extraordinary writer. The writing is wonderfully done, with intriguing, interesting, and complex characters. But most impressive is the ability to perfect the time jumps. Some authors may struggle with this technique, but KA Sands excels at appropriate and seamless time jumps.

Balance is a beautiful story of repeated wrong timing between two men who are each struggling with finding themselves as well as struggling to find a way to be together. Both riveting and compelling, I cannot recommend this extraordinary book enough!

Changing Tides by KA Sands

Blurb:

Twenty six years.

Nine thousand, four hundred and ninety days.

Every hour, a relief.

I’m a thug. A pusher. A low life. Governed by the hand that feeds me and holds my sister against me. I am named ‘Gripp’ for good reason. Every breath I take is one I hold dear, for my life dictates a short span.

I hit on women to save face, while I screw men in back alleyways to hide. My brazen attempt to seduce my sister’s best friend fell short, leaving me spiralling out of control. I’m not good enough for Ayden Rinaldi, but it doesn’t mean I’m not going to try.

I want him with a passion I have never felt before.

The chips are stacked against me, against us. The muddy waters I tread, taint all who come near. On bended knees, my world finally rips itself apart, leaving me sinking to the bottom of my black existence. In death’s darkest hour, I am lost, Ayden a shadow of the man he once was.

But he is my anchor.
I am his.

And we must swim these choppy waters before they drown us.

Please note that Changing Tides has instances of m/f scenes which are integral to the plot and the character of the main MC. It is not possible to tell this story without these scenes.

Twists and turns abound in K A Sands first M/M novel. An interconnected standalone full of action, suspense and toe-curling heat. You’d be a fool not to read! Please be aware, this book contains distressing and mature themes and you must be 18+ to read.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Changing Tides is one of those rare books that comes along and grips you down to your soul. KC Sands manages to create an action packed tale where two different worlds collide and will never be the same again. This book will grab your attention and never let go.

Gripp, aka Shaun, is a thug. He's a drug dealer who is watching his world collapse around him. But meeting Ayden makes him reassess his life. He falls in love with Ayden and wants to be better for him.

As much as their two lives are so vastly different, their worlds are strangely intertwined.

It is a powerful story of love and what one will do for those they love. It can assume you that it is not a light-hearted read. The content is heavy and difficult to read at times.

Even is you find someone you love,  someone for who you want to be a better person, someone for who you find yourself needing to be a better person, changing your life isn't always going to be easy.

When you work for a drug dealer, all stops will be pulled out trying to keep you on your current path. There will be consequences. And how do you move on? How do you help the others in your life to move on? If they can all survive, it won't be easy. But if you have enough desire, you will keep fighting.

Changing Tides leaves me absolutely gutted. It takes one on a complete and utter emotional journey. One that I cannot recommend highly enough.  KA Sand's first M/M novel is pure brilliance.
