Beat of Their Own Drum (Replay, 3) by K.M. Neuhold

Blurb

Jude
Every rock band needs their bad boy, right? That's me. Hookers, drugs, DUIs— been there, done that. I'm in a Downward Spiral and proud of it (see what I did there?). When the band manager, Archer, hires Bennett to keep me from screwing up while the band is on hiatus, I may have finally met someone who won't take my attitude lying down. With the three of us cooped up together for weeks on end, I have a feeling things might get interesting.

Archer
Downward Spiral is my baby. Not only am I the band manager, I discovered them ten years ago when they were nothing but a bunch of high school kids playing in a hole in the wall bar on the weekends. But it’s obvious I haven’t done a great job because they’re falling apart. If the lead singer isn’t trying to kill himself, it’s the bass player telling me he can’t write any new songs. And no one gets under my skin more than Jude, who seems determined to snort and drink himself into an early grave. There's only one man I can think of who might be able to get Jude back on the right track, Bennett Schmitt. Unfortunately, he's also the man I let get away sixteen years ago and haven't gotten over since.

Bennett
If there's one thing I know how to do, it's taking control of a situation. In fact, control is kind of my thing. Which is probably why I'm the best in the business when it comes to getting out of control celebrities back on track. When my ex calls and tells me he's desperate for my help, I can't turn him down. Between the infuriatingly sexy drummer with no idea what kind of trouble he's asking for, and my ex looking better than ever, there's no way this isn't about to get messy.

* This is an MMM romance with D/s play and mild daddy kink (NO age play), check inside for more details on what to expect

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Beat Of Their Own Drum is the 3rd book in the Replay series by KM Neuhold. As with the prior books, it is superb!

This time we get to follow along as Asher, Downward Spiral's manager finds love. As Jude is losing himself to drugs and hookers, Asher hires his ex-lover, Bennett to handle Jude. First, I have to say, that Asher and Bennett's story is fascinating. The two men always worked so well together, except for in the bedroom. They both desperately loved one another, but couldn't give the other what they needed in bed.

Now, 16 years later, they are reunited, and the magic is still there. But, as before, neither of them is able to submissive. As they start to work with Jude, they discover the amazing way in which both men are good for Jude. Asher can be there to coddle Jude, while Bennett can be there to discipline him. Over time they all come to see how well Jude fits with the two men, both in bed and intellectually. And, it's enchanting the way that Jude ends up being everything they never knew they needed.

The first time Jude says "Daddy" is a remarkable scene, as it's so beautifully tender, and it's probably my favorite moment.

Overall, this is a phenomenal menage romance involving three men who work perfectly together, gifting the others with what they really need and want. When together, they are all gifted with hope and happiness.

The change in the men is wonderfully developed. We watch as the men have to face their past rejections, confusion, and their insecurities. As they grow as people, they are full of love, affection, comfort, care and provide stability to one another.

Beat Of Their Own Drum is an impressive story. I love reading about men who've lost their way, as they are able to turn their lives around through the power of love. It's beautiful, captivating and powerful. I can't suggest this KM Neuhold series enough!

GRL 2018 SPOTLIGHT - Carol Lynne - Cattle Valley Series Books 1 & 2

In my attempt to cover some of the authors for this year's GRL,
I am reviewing

Carol Lynne's Cattle Valley series!

Carol is not an attending author this year, but she is one of the GRL organizers!

Cattle Valley Box Set 1 by Carol Lynne - I am reviewing Books 1 & 2 from this box set.

-------------------------------------------------------------

‘All Play & No Work’

A community built on tolerance, Cattle Valley’s one of the few places in the country where the residents won’t bat an eyelash at the threesomes' relationship. Nate, Rio and Ryan fit right in. However, with Ryan busy in his new job as town Sheriff, Rio and Nate are left to wonder how they’re supposed to make a living. What use are a highly trained mercenary and a private detective in a peaceful community the size of Cattle Valley?

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!!!

Wow. Just wow!  All Work and No Play is so much more than I had anticipated. Carol Lynne has managed to thrill me, as this book is everything I want in a menage, and it's the spectacular start to what looks to be an amazing series.

I love the throuple of Nate, Rio and Ryan. Absolutely love them! They compliment each other perfectly, they wear their love for one another on their sleeves, and they are fun and witty.

I can't praise this book enough. I love the town of Cattle Valley, love the people who live there, and can't wait to keep reading the series.

As for the storyline, it flows smoothly, had great character development and  contains a good amount of angst. And, omg, the sex scenes! Let's just say they are plentiful (both MM and MMM) and they are downright sinfully steamy! In other words, enjoy!

Definitely check out All Work and No Play as Carol Lynne will have you hooked!

‘Cattle Valley Mistletoe’

Goodreads Link

Contractor Halden Kuckleman loves his quiet life. After a childhood trauma, Hal gave up on love and God. When hired by the church to finish work on a new meeting room, he tells himself it's just a job like any other. He's fine working on the addition as long as Reverend Sharp doesn't try to save him.

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!!!

Cattle Valley Mistletoe, the second book in Carol Lynne's Cattle Valley series is spectacular!

The subject matter is unique and executed flawlessly. When Haiden's hired by Casey to work on the church addition, he's hesitant. Let's just say that Haiden's relationship with God is not good and Haiden wants nothing to do with church. Then he spends time with Casey, the reverend, an attraction builds, but Haiden's left confused and frustrated. He certainly can't be in a relationship with someone from the church.

I love this storyline. I love how interesting, realistic and raw it is. And Haiden and Casey? Wow! Do not miss out on this hot and steamy couple!

---------

And, now, I need to save up money to read the rest of the series, because I am positively hooked! Thank you Carol Lynne for creating these wonderful men and their fantastic town.

“Have you ever been so lost that you couldn’t remember what home looked like, what it felt like?

So lost that home was a distant memory – a place that you never had hope of finding it again?

That’s how I felt, how I’d felt for years, for longer than I could remember.

Until I found you, Bas.

I just wish I could tell you that….

I’m coming. I’m coming for you, Bas. And I’m going to do my best to try….for you.”

~Ten

For longer than he could remember Tenley ‘Ten’ Pinkerton had been lost. Wandering this earth with no hope, no soul, no heart, no purpose. The day the love of his life, Sawyer, had been brutally murdered was the day that everything beyond the basic elements of survival - like breathing and a beating heart - had been shut down.

Until him.

Sebastian ‘Bas’ Monroe.

Fucking Bas Monroe.

Somehow the man had wormed his way past Ten’s defenses, past the armor plates surrounding his heart, past the pain. Somehow he’d gotten inside.

Ten wasn’t really sure how he felt about that.

But the day that Bas went missing?

Ten knew that he would die if he that’s what it came to in order to find Bas, in order to save him.

The question that remained:

Was he going to be saving Bas Monroe? Or was he going to be saving himself?

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Kendel Duncan has definitely penned another hit with Finding My Way Home, the second book in the Doyle Global Securities series.

It is full of suspense, amazing connections and some super steamy moments, making it heart-breaking, powerful, gripping and intense. And I loved every second of it.

The surprising thing with this romance, is that it actually focuses on two separate relationships, wonderfully weaving different subplots. It is impressive how well all of the characters are developed, each with their own distinct personalities that just jump off the page.

The writing style is fluid, tender and genuine. I will definitely not be able to forget this one! And if you like wit, snark, and banter, there are some hilarious moments.

The most impressive thing about this story, to me, is that I feel in love with five different men, all at once, and all for completely different reasons. Each man, so broken, so wounded, being able to open up his heart and find healing through love. And Ten, oh my goodness, Ten! His journey had me crying for everything he had been through and everything he goes through.

I absolutely was mesmerized by Finding My Way, and I can't wait to see what Kendel Duncan comes up with next.

Excerpt

Ten followed Morgan back out to his car. They were both completely silent for the twenty-minute drive to what looked to Ten like an abandoned warehouse complex. But when they got closer Ten could see the tell-tale signs that this was a secret government facility: the electronic laser fencing, the high-tech motion sensors.

“I have a feeling we’re not in Kansas anymore, Dorothy,” Ten said quietly.

He looked over to find Morgan smiling slightly even though every other part of his body was tense, “You would be correct scarecrow.”

As he turned into a weed covered parking lot, he slowed by what looked like a large rhododendron. As he rolled his window down, Ten mumbled, “Tin man.”

“What?” Morgan said as he looked back at Ten.

“I would be the Tin man in that scenario. No heart, remember?”

“Oh,” Morgan said as he leaned out to move a large branch to the side revealing an electronic keypad with a fingerprint scanner below it, “You’re full of shit,” he mumbled as he punched in a code and pressed his thumb to the scanner. There was a barely imperceptible beep, the circle around the fingerprint turned green and then Morgan let his foot off the brake.

“That’s it?” Ten said as he looked out the windows, “All it does is beep? How do you know you’ve been given clearance?”

“Because nobody is shooting at us. And you’re still full of shit.”

“What do you mean?”

“About the shooting or the shit?” Morgan said with a smirk.

Ten rolled his eyes, “The shit, smartass.”

“You have the biggest heart of anyone I know. You just choose to have it locked down tight.”

Morgan could pretty much hear the silent huff that Ten made as he glared at him. “Stop trying to fix me, Morg. It’s not possible.”

“And yet here you are ready to do anything and everything to save Bas.”

“Because you asked me to!”

“Bullshit. That’s bullshit, and you know it.”

Ten opened his mouth to say something else but Morgan interrupted him. “Tamp it down, Pinkerton. We’re here,” he said as he put his car in park and shut it off. He turned in his seat and pinned Ten with a look that said listen very carefully, so Ten did.

“Don’t do or say anything in there unless I tell you to. Stay with me. Don’t touch anything, don’t, just don’t….”

“Don’t what?”

“Just fucking behave, okay?”

Ten smirked, “Yes, Dad. Can we go into the secret clubhouse now?”

“This is not a fucking joke, Ten. Anyone in this building could kill you between heartbeats and there wouldn’t be a damn thing that I could do to stop it. Do you hear me?”

Ten dipped his chin, the smirk long-gone from his face, “Yeah, Morg, I get it.”

“Okay, good.”

They both climbed out of the car and Ten frowned when Morgan didn’t lock it, “You’re not locking it?”

“They’re going to search it while we’re inside and when we leave so there’s really no point.”

“They can break into your car that easily?”

Morgan shook his head, “These people can do anything they fucking want to, Ten. How can I convince you of that?”

“Okay, Morg, okay. I get it. I promise, I get it,” Ten said as he walked over to Morgan and touched his tense shoulder.

Morgan took a deep breath and sighed it out, “I hope so, Ten. I really hope so,” he said and then together they began walking to the front door.
