Moonlight Becomes You (Lucky Moon #1) by Piper Vaughn & M.J. O'Shea

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Can't forget the boy he left behind. Can't seem to win the respect of the man he's crazy about. Shane Ventura might be rich and famous... but his love life is a disaster waiting to happen.

Eleven years ago, Shane Ventura made the biggest mistake of his life.

He caved in to pressure from his record label to kick his best friend, Jesse Seider, out of their band, Luck. To this day, Shane has never wanted anyone more. All the sex, drugs, and rock n' roll can't fill the void Jesse left behind. Not even the prospect of teaming up with Britain's hottest band, Moonlight, for a massive world tour can get him out of his funk.

Then he meets singer Kayden Berlin and falls into Instant lust.

Kayden may act like he's not interested but Shane knows he feels the spark between them. Yet the harder Shane pushes, the more Kayden pulls away, until on explosive night leaves Shane with a broken heart.

That seems to be his lot in -- lucky at everything but love.

Shane still has one lesson left to learn: when it comes to love, you can't always leave things to chance.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Moonlight Becomes You, the first book in the Lucky Moon series, is a great rocker romance. I loved this Piper Vaughn and MJ O'Shea book the first time I read it and am thrilled it is now re-released and back on the market.

In this story of Shane and Kayden, we get a before and after, as past meets present.

Shane and Jesse are amazing and mesmerizing together, as student and tutor. Unfortunately, things don't last. What follows is a tale of pain and anguish, loss and regret, and memories and second chances. It's a story of revenge, apologies, and surprises. And shock. And I love it all.

This is a story that revolves around the music industry and the cruelty and arrogance of the industry.

And the feelings! Omg, the feelings! The emotions jump off the pages, leaving me feeling like my heart stopped beating at some points.

This writing duo is fabulous, with fantastic characters and an entertaining storyline. They pulled me in and kept me mesmerized throughout. They took a classic trope of the bad boy falling for the nerd, and changed things up, keeping it unique. You might not like the men when you first meet them, but their past explains their motivations and actions, leaving you loving them in the end. I wasn't surprised by the shock moment, but it doesn't matter, as the emotions of the characters leave you shocked for them.

Moonlight Becomes You had me riveted throughout. I could not put this Piper Vaughn and MJ O'Shea book down. Is it realistic? Not so much. Is it all consuming? Absolutely. This story of bad choices and long lost love is a read in one sitting kind of book.

Goalie Interference (Hat Trick #2) by Avon Gale & Piper Vaughn

Blurb

It’s goalie vs. goalie in this brand-new enemies-to-lovers hockey romance from Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn…

Ryu Mori has had a stellar season as goalie for the Atlanta Venom. So when he’s called into management’s office, he’s expecting to hear he’s the new starting goalie for the team, not that some new guy—an incredibly hot, annoyingly bratty rookie—is here to compete for his spot.

Not everyone gets to play in the best league in the world. Emmitt Armstrong knows that, and he’s not about to waste the opportunity after grinding his way from the bottom to the top. If the Venom is looking for a meek, mild-mannered pushover, they’ve got the wrong guy.

Ryu doesn’t want to admit the other goalie’s smart mouth turns him on. Beating Armstrong at practice feels good, sure, but there are other, more fun ways to shut his rival up.

In this league, it’s winner takes all. But there’s more to life than winning, and if Emmitt and Ryu can get past their egos and competitive natures, they might just discover they work better as partners than they ever imagined possible.

Goalie Interference, the second book in the Hat Trick series, has everything I love about an Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn book. There's a great hockey story, two intriguing main characters, and some hot sex.

In this story, a fun, no-strings-attached arrangement leads to more as the lines start to blur. I always enjoy when casual boyfriends turn into a real relationship without the men even knowing. Personally, I love the scene where they talk about wanting more.

Emmitt's new to the team and finds himself competing with Ryu for the goalie position. As usual, they always have to fight, on and off the ice. They're rivals on the ice so this is normal for them. But best yet, fighting gets them hot, which is always a fun read.

For anyone looking for a
book with diverse characters, this one fits the bill. One's a black man, the other is Japanese/American. The lack of diversity in the NHL is well explored.

I love everything about this story. Course I have a thing for athletes, and this one met all my expectations and desires. Ryu and Emmitt are so damn hot together. And don't forget the beauty of their dares. I'm certainly not going to give anything away, but damn, I love their dares.

One big part of their story involves their parents, and the lack of support they receive from them. Parental involvement has the power to make or break someone, and these two definitely struggle with their parent's expectations.

Goalie Interference is a great enemies to lovers romance. If you enjoy closeted athletes, make sure to check out this Avon Gale & Piper Vaughn collaboration. The second book in their Hat Trick series, it is easily read as a standalone.

Off the Ice (Hat Trick #1) by Avon Gale, Piper Vaughn

Blurb

Previously published; newly refreshed by the authors

He’s hot for teacher

NHL star Tristan Holt may be at the top of his game, but he’s already thinking one play ahead. Hitting the books in the off-season means he’ll have a business degree to fall back on when it’s time to hang up his hockey skates.

But his straightforward plan is complicated by his undeniable attraction to his sexy sociology professor, Sebastian Cruz.

Impressed by Tristan’s brain as well as his brawn, Sebastian can’t help lusting after the gorgeous jock. With tenure on the line, Sebastian won’t break the rules by becoming involved with one of his students—at least, not until the end of term. Once final grades are posted, though, their naughty mutual fantasies can become reality.

Tristan’s not sure he’s up for being the poster boy for openly gay hockey players, but Sebastian’s never been the type of man to keep his sexuality—or his relationships—in the closet. For Tristan, being with Sebastian might mean risking more than just his heart.

OMG, I absolutely love Off the Ice!. Avon Gale and Piper Vaughn immediately captured my attention with the tone of this romance.

I love athlete stories, and this one is fantastic. Tristan and Sebastian have a great relationship with so much to offer. Not only is Tristan a closeted athlete, but they meet when Tristan's a student in Sebastian's class.

So, yes, their story starts with a forbidden desire element, as the professor and student are immediately intrigued in each other. It's fun and extremely entertaining. And, damn, I love the theme in Sebastian's class and how he himself falls victim to that very issue. That theme? Privilege, bias, and prejudice. It's wonderfully written, explored, and as I stated above, illustrated. I love it all.

Everything about this book is what I consider delicious romance. With this writing duo, it's no surprise that the writing is good and the storyline is strong. The characters are both loveable and a lot of fun together. It's a stellar subject matter as they explore the dangers of making assumptions.

Seriously, I love this story! From the start, I found myself completely immersed into Tristan and Sebastian's world. Off The Ice is a compelling and riveting romance, full of tension, attraction, and a forbidden relationship, as well as the struggles of being a closeted athlete. I can't recommend it enough.
