Former helicopter pilot Maverick Delgardo's injuries ended his Air Force career, leaving him bitter and one drink away from becoming an alcoholic. When his sister asks for his help on a private protection case to babysit a disgraced pop star, Mav reluctantly agrees.

Deacon Daniels, onetime lead singer and idol to his teenage fans, saw his career and reputation ruined when a reporter's exposé led to a devastating scandal. Without money or a job, a heartbroken Deacon has lost custody of his baby niece. And just when Deacon thinks his life can't get any worse, a stalker's threatening messages escalate to murder.

Mav only agreed to one meeting, but his protective instincts kick in, along with an attraction to Deacon. When the body count increases, however, Mav is unsure he is up to the task of protecting Deacon from a killer. But it is too late for Mav to step away, now that he's lost his heart, and he must find the strength to reassure Deacon and his niece that they are in safe hands no matter the cost.

Victoria Sue's In Safe Hands is a marvelous bodyguard romance.

Deacon and Maverick are complete opposites, both in life experiences and personality, but they both know pain. Deacon's past is heart-breaking, as he's suffered a life time of verbal and physical abuse. Maverick, who's been barely living, is a victim to his scars and amputation. Being forced to watch Deacon brings him out of isolation.

Maverick's instant desire to protect the young Deacon is wonderful. What follows is a riveting mix of romance, healing, danger, and action. It's heavy on the character growth and I love Molly!

It's a thrilling story, all told in a soothing tone. The author's writing is superb, full of complex characters and a multi-layered storyline. The suspense is great, a constant throughout this budding romance. The author takes a nice turn from  the norm by not just telling things from the main character's points of view, but also from the stalker's. This totally ups the creepy factor.

Basically, In Safe Hands is awesome and I love it all. This Victoria Sue read is riveting, compelling, and absolutely satisfying.

Victoria Sue's In Safe Keeping is a sweet action romance. Although the second book in the Heroes and Babies series, it is easily read as a standalone. Having not read book one, I followed along perfectly.

Lucas and Owen meet when Lucas saves Mia and her daddy in a fire. Yes, this story includes a cute baby, a firefighter, and a dog. Owen's on the run with baby Mia, and Lucas longs to save them.

O
mg, my heart breaks for Lucas, who's riddled with pain, grief, and guilt. He's trying to save everyone since he couldn't save the one most important to him.

Their tale is full of danger, action, and romance. Not only are they running from danger, they are also fighting against memories.

Their tale includes a lot of family issues, action, anger, and pain. It's wonderfully developed and fantastically written. There's so much more to Lucas's story than I could ever have expected. Such fantastic twists and turns, with multi-layered characters.

This story also includes an excellent illustration of demisexuality. As we don't get enough books like this, I really appreciate this.

Ultimately, In Safe Keeping is a story of forgiveness and reconciliation. If you enjoy good action, you'll like this complicated mystery/romance. It's a wonderful story, yet definitely a longer and more detailed mystery than I needed.

Unfortunately, it might just be too late.

His First Kiss is a sweet romance by Victoria Sue. If you don't fall in love with the cover, you'll fall in love with this sweet tale of letting go of the past.

From the start, I fell for Shay and sympathized with his situation. Shay struggles with his ability to accept love, while Nick fears forcing Shay too much.

Their relationship is intriguing, as both men struggle with trusts issues. In addition to their own issues, they also have to deal with external threats, manipulation, and lies.

This story includes a look into the horrific mistreatment of omegas, which is always fascinating. Not ever Omegaverse book has omegas treated this way, but it's always an interesting addition to a story.

The writing is good, with a great flow. The characters are interesting and are definitely likeable. A quick story, it doesn't go too deep into things, but it's a fun tale. Heavy one the emotion at times, it is truly heart-breaking, as it includes anxiety, panic attacks, and ex-abuse.

His First Kiss is a sweet story of finding someone who loves you and will help you heal. It's a story of finding the one person who will love, protect, and save you. It's the perfect book when you're looking for a sweet mpreg romance.

Ben's Rainbow by Victoria Sue

Amazon

A beautiful story about two men who both think they aren't worthy of the other. It is the 3rd book in the series, although this is the 1st one I have read.

Ben is a former fashion model.  He was driven to success and put his career above everything else in his life.  But everything changed when he was in a fire and suffered bad burns to his face, neck and shoulders.
His boyfriend at the time was Zach, who was a world famous photographer. Zach's main career passion is photographs the hardships of those who are ill and suffering, along with the trying to share the damage of war-torn countries with the world through his photos.  He is absolutely in love with Ben, but he leaves to go on an assignment after a fight with him.
Zack rushes back to Ben after he hears about the fire, but he can't find him.  He searched for him for 4 years.  Then, during an assignment, Zach suffers near blindness from an undetected eye condition.   He is sent to Rainbow Key to rest and heal.  When he gets there, he has no idea that he will be finally finding Ben.

I absolutely enjoyed this book.   Both characters, at the time that we meet that, are very likeable.   We discover Ben's former flaws as the story continues, but he definitely manages to redeem his past selfishness.
Zach is a beautiful soul.  He is just a very likeable guy who really helps to keep Ben balanced.  When we meet him, he is damaged mentally from suffering this near blindness.  He is grieving the potential loss of his career.   As he reconnects with Ben though, he finds that he isn't focused on his vision anymore.  He is finding love again, and thus happiness, as well as the strength to finally take care of him health and career.

Both men are physically damaged.  One has facial scars, the other is losing his sight.  This makes both of them think the other won't want to stay with them.  Both men are afraid of rejection.  And both men have just been hiding from the world.  But, through patience and communication, as well as clearing up some misunderstandings from their past, they may be able to accept that they love each other.

I adored the secondary characters and plan on going back to read the first 2 books in the series to learn more about them.

I really enjoyed this story.  It was an emotional journey.  It was a pleasure to see their progress as they grew as people.  They were both able to find love by figuring out what is truly important in life. It was a tough process at times, but it was beautiful and meaningful.
