Risqué Business by Brittany Cournoyer

He's not Julia Roberts, and I'm not Richard Gere. We’re way better.

Warner isn't looking to be rescued. He knows he can't turn tricks forever, but he has plans. In the meantime, he gets paid well for his skills. Plus, sometimes he gets guys like a certain redheaded virgin who make Warner's job worth it. Still, no one ever wants to take the time to see Warner for who he is outside of the bedroom.

Most days, Troy is too busy to think about all those years of being teased for being the fat gay kid. But others, it doesn't matter how successful he is, he's painfully aware that he is almost 30 and still a virgin. Sick of waiting for Mr. Right, he decides to hire Mr. Right Now.

What was supposed to be a one-and-done turns into a repeat performance when Troy hires Warner to play the part of his loving boyfriend for a weekend wedding. He could be in real danger of believing the fantasy, but Troy is nothing if not a realist. There's no way someone so hot, so smart, so amazing could ever look at Troy and want him for who he is.

Right?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Risque Business is a sweet fake boyfriend romance by Brittany Cournoyer.

First of all, I have to admit that I struggled with this one at the start. With Troy hiring Warner to take his virginity, the scene is fine, but the emotions weren't quite clicking for me yet.

But later, oh...the emotions!

I love the way things evolve for Troy and Warner. The emotions are front  and center as their feelings evolve.

It's all super sweet and feel good. It's definitely a fake boyfriend/Pretty Woman feel and I certainly can't complain about that.

By the end, I was fully invested in this romance and couldn't put it down.

The men are complete opposites, both in the period of their lives, as well as their experiences. Seeing the way they connect and help one another to grow is fabulous.

As for my problems with the beginning, I think I just didn't connect with Troy at that point. I don't think I ever felt why he cared about losing his virginity so badly. I needed more at that point. But, in the end, I can easily overlook that issue.

I enjoy and appreciate the way the author handled the aspect of being an escort. One friend enjoys what he does. And while Warren certainly doesn't mind it, he grows over time and his feelings about it change. I definitely like the way this is executed.

Risque Business is a great choice the next time you're in the mood for a feel good, heart warming romance. Brittany Cournoyer left me smiling and swooning.

Key to My Heart by Brittany Cournoyer

Amazon Link   - Available in KU

Music, teaching, family.

For Maverick Wheeler, the only thing more important to him than his family is music. During the day, he’s a professor of Music Theory, and by night, he plays the piano in a jazz band. Between work and his father’s care, that doesn’t leave much time for a personal life. When fate keeps throwing the insufferable Christopher Bishop his way, Chris is the one to lend Maverick a helping hand when he needs one. And even though Maverick is starting to like Christopher the more time they spend together, Maverick knows he’s far too old for him.

Work, school, service.

If Christopher Bishop isn’t busy working at his family’s tow truck business, he’s filling his free time with visiting his grandfather or arguing with Maverick Wheeler. Sparks fly the first time they lay eyes on each other after a misunderstanding, and instead of fizzling out, they burn brighter with every encounter. After a fateful encounter, Christopher begins to realize the stuffy, yet tasty, professor isn’t such a bad guy after all. If only Christopher could convince him to get over their age difference.

Key to my Heart is a medium-heat, low-angst, story featuring an age gap and adult situations. It’s intended for an audience of eighteen years or older.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Key to My Heart is a sweet romance by Brittany Cournoyer.

I love the way Chris and Maverick don't get along at the start. It adds some fun moments for sure.

They come to know each other, as Mav's father is roommates with Chris's grandfather at the nursing home. I enjoy the way they grow closer, despite it seeming forced.

I also enjoy watching Maverick fight his feelings. And, damn, I love the power exchange, as Chris wants to help take control. Let's just say the results are hot!

This is an age gap romance, as one's a college student, the other a college professor. There's no conflict though, as Maverick is not, and never has been, Chris's teacher. I appreciated this aspect a lot.

The relationship is emotional and definitely an enjoyable one. The age gap is a tough thing for Maverick to overcome, while Chris sees it as no big deal.

The dementia of Mav's grandfather is a tough part to read. If this is a trigger for you, avoid. It's definitely tear jerking and full of heart breaking moments.

Overall, Key to My Heart is a delightful age gap read. This Brittany Cournoyer is a whole lot of fluff entwined with plenty of emotion, heat and heart. It's truly a sweet book.

All’s fair in love and remodeling.

Griffin Caldwell can’t wait to make a fresh start: new job, new town, new house. He’s even realized the lifelong dream of owning his own home. Except when he arrives, nothing is what he expected, and Griffin’s celebration turns from triumphant to terrible.

Not only is his “cute bungalow” a derelict heap, it needs major remodeling work to be livable. And it turns out there’s only one person in town who’s even willing to commit to the project.

The first time David Webber talks to Griffin about his disaster zone of a house, he’d like nothing better than to hang up the phone. But he’s stuck. All his grumpy behavior has gotten him is a whole stack of bad reviews online and no clients.

From the moment they collide over a busted toilet, sparks and snark fly. The only thing that might be hotter than their mutual animosity is their intense chemistry.

Neither of them wants to admit it at first but as the project evolves and their lives intertwine, maybe what they’re working on isn’t just a house. It might even be proof that a caring partnership can build a strong, long-lasting foundation--and an even fiercer love.

All Screwed Up is a sweet and tender romance by Beth Bolden and Brittany Cournoyer.

This enemies to lovers tale is full of two men who need to overcome their stubbornness. They butt heads and need to learn to communicate and find a balance. It's all a fun read.

And, dear lord, if you enjoy unique meet cutes, this one definitely has that! I know I'll never forget it.

David and Griffin end up falling for one another without even meaning to. If you enjoy an emotional slow burn, you will enjoy this one. In the end, both men are trying to be their best selves, not just for themselves, but for each other. And that is love!

Their tale includes some wonderful fatherly advice, the cutest of pets, and a house under construction. It has a grumpy construction worker and a homeowner who won't stay out of his way. It also has some major character growth, which is well done. My favorite part, however, is the reminder that we are all more than what people say about us. We all need to remember that!

All Screwed Up is a great feel-good read. I definitely recommend this Beth Bolden and Brittany Cournoyer collab the next time you are in the mood for a delightful opposites attract romance.

“What are you doing?” he asked when he stepped inside and spotted David ripping into a wall.

“Baking a cake,” he responded dryly before muttering to himself, “what does it freaking look like I’m doing? Knitting a damn sweater?”

“What flavor?” Griffin asked, choosing not to respond to the rest.

“The best flavor—chocolate.”

“I beg to differ. Chocolate is good, but nothing beats a super moist red-velvet cake with delicious cream cheese frosting.”

David stared at him, crowbar in one hand, sledgehammer in the other. “Are you saying chocolate cake can’t be moist? Because if so, you’re having the wrong cake.”

“No, not at all. I’ve had some decent chocolate cake. It’s just more dense than other flavors.”

David snorted. “Was there anything else you needed? Or did you just stop by to tell me my choice in cake is dense?”

Griffin crossed his arms over his chest. “You brought up the cake conversation, not me. All I did was ask what you were doing.”

David sighed and looked toward the sagging ceiling, as if searching for a way to respond to Griffin. The ceiling was another thing that had given up in that house. The entire thing looked like it’d just had enough standing up in the battle against the elements, animals, and trespassers. And had definitely gotten tired of doing so alone—since it’d sat empty for so long. It’d given up, finally waving the white flag as tree roots took over and the crushing weight of snow had caused certain parts to cave in. The thought of seeing the house in such despair and feeling the sadness among the walls hurt Griffin’s heart, and he hoped all the time, money, and arguments with David were worth breathing new life into the house. It deserved a chance to shine in all its glory, and even though it didn’t look like much now, the bones were still solid. It just needed some love.

“When I get asked a question where the answer is obvious, I can’t help but respond with sarcasm.”

“What was that?” Griffin asked, startled by David’s voice. He’d been so lost in thought about his depressing home that he’d forgotten he was in the middle of a conversation with David.

David sighed loudly and muttered under his breath again. “Did you need something? I’m a bit busy here.”

He waved his arm around the room, the one Griffin intended to be his master bedroom, to indicate the piles of drywall he’d ripped down.

“Just wondering if you need any help.”

“We’ve already had this conversation more than once, Griffin. Right now, it’s best if you stay out of the way until I have the basic demolition finished.”

Griffin pursed his lips as he tried not to stare at the way Griffin’s sweaty T-shirt clung to him like a second skin and his jeans hugged his thick thighs like they were drawn on him. Jesus. He could crack walnuts with those thighs.

Even though it was still fairly early in the morning, the sun was already high in the sky and the humidity was even higher. And just walking outside to collect the morning paper would cause sweat to bead on your upper lip and temples. And while Griffin hated it, he had to give his thanks to the weather gods since David had taken his shirt off more than once while doing work. And Griffin couldn’t help but accept the gifts in the form of his bulging, sweating muscles, eagerly. It’d be rude not to, after all.

Play With Me by Brittany Cournoyer

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Tattoos, fixing cars, and his saxophone.

Those are the only things Stellan Abernathy cares about—being the tattooed auto mechanic by day and then the sultry saxophone player in a jazz band by night. But all that changes when a wide-eyed bartender captures his attention and refuses to let go. Now, instead of an audience, Stellan only wants to play for—and with—Foster.

Coming home, starting over, and getting back on his feet.

After a break-up that leaves Foster Morgan feeling more relieved than hurt, he returns home with an empty bank account and a new job. Getting his life back on track is his main priority, but fate has put pure temptation in his path. The only problem? Foster had never been with a man before. Now, he wants Stellan to change that.

Play with me is a high-heat, low-angst, bisexual awakening story filled with adult situations. It’s intended for an audience of eighteen years or older.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Play With Me is an enjoyable bi-sexual awakening romance by Brittany Cournoyer. The cover grabbed me and the storyline kept me reading.

First, I need to say the cover model perfectly depicts the long haired, tattooed, saxophone player Stellan.

As for the storyline, I always enjoy a good bisexual awakening story, and this one is just that, as Foster instantly takes a liking to the hot band member Stellan. Having never been attracted to men before, he's surprised, but can't deny the immediate spark between the two. If you're looking for angst over one's sexuality though, move on, as Foster has an easy time with accepting his new attraction to a man.

What follows is a sweet story, as Stellan goes out of his way to be generous to the new bartender. Stellan is sex on legs, with his sexual way of playing the sax, and his hot as sin mechanic look, which the cover model depicts perfectly. I love how he deals with Foster and eases Foster's way into his new life.

Written in alternating 1st person pov, both men come to life, with their feelings on full display. The storyline is a light, easy read that includes plenty of spicy moments. There are plenty of lovable secondary characters included as well.

Play With Me is a light, fluffy read that perfectly fills the desires I look for in such a book. Brittany Cournoyer won't disappoint with this tale that combines sweetness and sexiness. Definitely try this one the next time you're looking for a low angst, first bisexual times romance.

Sometimes all a boy needs is his Daddy.

Davis’s life has been one struggle after another, leaving him nervous and unsure. On the brink of complete poverty, he’s desperate enough to accept a job at a biker bar, even though it terrifies him. It’s not like he has a choice when the hot, older owner is the only one willing to give him a chance.

Sarge has a full life. He’s made his dream of owning a successful bar come true. He has good friends and valuable employees. If he gets a little lonely, it’s easier to just scratch the itch than to put his heart back on the line. At least it was until Davis, constantly looking to him for reassurance, melts through his defenses with his big blue eyes.

When Davis reveals his curiosity about Daddies, will Sarge give into the desire to claim Davis as his boy?

My Rating - 5 Stars!

His Someone Special, by Sammi Cee and Brittany Cournoyer is a fabulous Daddy romance.

First of all, let's talk about the cover. The authors absolutely impress with a hot cover model who will surely catch your attention.

And, wow, if you enjoy character growth, you will love this book. Davis's character growth, as he goes from timid and unconfident to a man who knows what he wants and takes it, is fabulous! That said, it is all done without much angst, but rather is a natural manner. It's a nice, easy read.

This is a story that combines a boss/employee relationship with daddy kink, an age gap, and a difference in social status. It has a biker bar and an a boss who can't help but to be taken with his newest employee. Sarge is a natural caretaker who can't turn the hungry boy away. It's just sweet from the start and never stops being sweet.

The writing is good, with two authors who combine their talents well. Their characters are well developed and absolutely lovable. The depth of Davis' nervousness is extremely well illustrated and just makes him perfectly endearing to the reader. As well, the pace is great and the storyline intriguing. They add in some good secondary characters who help round out the fun

His Someone Special is a must read the next time you're looking for a sweet daddy romance. This is a low angst book that just made me happy.

Dolan versus Everett. Snarky meets stoic.

Dolan Masters loathes many things: root canals, splinters in his fingers, and people putting toilet paper on the roll wrong—loose end over the top, please. But the one thing he hates more than anything else is Everett freaking Henson.

Everett Henson spends more time with animals than people, his best friend Eli being the exception. The downside of that friendship means crossing paths with Dolan Masters; the man who rubs Everett wrong in every way possible.

But a baby changes everything.

With both men believing they deserve the honor of being the godfather to their best friends’ baby, the only way to settle things is through a competition. Will there be bloodshed, or will these two realize the truth staring them in the face?

May the best godfather win.

With a Lover’s Courage is the third installment of the Badge and Bullets series featuring the same two characters, so they must be read in order. It is a suspenseful murder mystery that depicts detailed crimes, drug abuse, strong language, brief mentions of animal cruelty, and adult situations.

Review
My Rating -4 Stars!

With a Lover's Courage is a good continue of Max and Bradley's story that started in At a Stranger's Mercy.

This tale revolves around the danger that still exists, as Max tries to solve the ongoing crime while protecting Bradley. All this adds to their relationship, as they start to date and get physical together. The author handles the conflict that Max feels in a great manner.

The writing is great, flowing well, with an interesting storyline. Both characters  are developed, with their connection growing stronger.

Full of suspense and mystery, heat and passion, romance and love, it's a lot of fun. Like the previous books in the series, there are plenty of twists and turns along the way.

With a Lover's Courage is perfect when you're in the mood for an M/M mystery, sprinkled with some romance.

Bite Me, Santa by Brittany Cournoyer

Blurb

The most wonderful time of year?

Maybe for others—but definitely not for me. Peppermint is disgusting, and don’t even get me started on how creepy I think nutcrackers are.

While others have visions of sugar plums doing some weird dancing in their heads, Christmas only pulls up memories I’d rather soon forget. But how can I do that when Christmas is being thrown at me from every direction? Especially now that I’m giving my Christmas loving co-worker Troy rides to and from work when he has car trouble.

When the gifts start to appear on my desk, the tiny burdens make it hard to forget about the date that is rapidly approaching on the calendar. And the more time I spend with Troy, the more I begin to realize that despite the bad memories, Christmas isn’t really so terrible, especially when it’s spent with someone I can’t seem to walk away from.

Will I finally be saying ho ho ho instead of telling Santa to bite me? Or will I forever remain the man who hates Christmas?

Although this book is part of A Snow Globe Christmas series, it is a complete stand alone and it isn’t a requirement that you read the previous book to follow along. We wish everyone a happy holiday season.

Review
My Rating - 4 Stars!

Brittany Cournoyer's Bite Me, Santa is a sweet Christmas romance.

Reed's a total Christmas curmudgeon. He hates the Christmas atmosphere at work; the music, the decorations, etc. Basically he's a loner at work, one who only trusts himself. Until someone works their way into his life and heart.

This is a delightfully funny story of healing through the power love. It's always fun when this author writes a contemporary romance, as she usually writes dark stories.

Bite Me, Santa is totally a feel good Christmas romance. It's a perfect read to pick up when you want a short and sappy sweet holiday read.
