BLOG TOUR, GIVEAWAY & REVIEW - Far Away by Bryan T Clark

Far Away

Bryan T. Clark has a new contemporary MM romance out: "Far Away." And there's a giveaway!

First love can save you … and ruin you …

Eighteen-year-old Noah Rothenberg spent the perfect summer with his first love, the charming and seductive Spiro. He fell head over heels in love from what started as a clumsy crush.

But that was twelve years ago. His relationships since have been spectacular failures because of how things ended with Spiro. If he has any hope of moving forward, he needs to find Spiro and get some closure … even if he has to fly halfway around the world to do it. Too bad he instead finds himself falling—again—for the man who ruined him for all other men.

Love isn’t an emotion Spiro Papadopoulos entirely trusts anymore. He’s far too pragmatic for that. His focus these days has to be on his art and caring for his ailing mother. Being with Noah again is easy and feels so right … but is it love? Spiro isn’t sure. Besides, with his entire life being tied to Greece and Noah’s to New York, love might just be a luxury neither of them can afford.

Can Spiro and Noah overcome the oceans and years between them—or will their second chance at love end as badly as their first?

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Bryan T Clark's Far Away is a sweet second chance romance. It's a wonderful combination of heartbreak and beauty.

This is a story of two men falling in love during one summer, but separated for years that are full of confusion and sadness. It's about a lifetime of searching for one's first love.

The strength of the bond Noah and Spiro form over a short summer together is beautiful. The way that Spiro can see inside Noah's soul is magnificent. And the way these two are separated is heart wrenching.

This story includes homophobia, family issues, and a wonderful strong Greek family unit. Good god, I love Spiro's big Greek family! That alone would make me re-read this book.

I also love and adore Noah's roommate who is the one who finally pushes him forward with his life. After years of never forgetting the man he met in Greece, his roommate encourages him to find him.

The angst is well done and I enjoy the author's writing style. At first I found the desire to hold onto a summer love for so many years a little far fetched. But eventually I didn't care and fell for these men and the depth of their love. We all have the person we'll never forget, even if we don't still compare everyone else to them.

Be warned that the parental homophobia is strong in this one, so avoid if that's a trigger. As well, a main character loses his twin and never fully recovers. In other words, another major trigger.

Far Away is a nice story of living life for oneself and taking control of your life. This Bryan T Clark tale is a great read when you're in the mood for a love that spans a long separation; a love one can never forget.

Far Away meme

“Good morning, Mr. Rothenberg.” Eros put a hand on his knee to steady himself as he stood. Aloof in the shadows, Spiro held his gaze on him. Noah couldn’t look away as Spiro’s eyes washed over him from head to toe. Were they brown or green? Afraid he’d stared too long, he broke eye contact, his eyes sweeping past the visitor’s long dark sideburns that cupped his ears.

“Sorry to disturb you.” Noah’s voice cracked. He cleared his throat and tried to put on a cool and collected face, not wanting to seem like the dork that he was. “I was hoping you could help this morning with the rowboat.” His thumb pointed to the boathouse, but his eyes remained on Spiro. Face-to-face, Eros’s nephew was... beautiful. A statue of beauty.

Noah tried to look away but couldn’t. Yes, Spiro was a hair taller than he. His square jawline, straight nose, and jade eyes rimmed in gold were mesmerizing. Noah’s heart sped as he broke eye contact. Excitement swirled in his gut at the proximity of this Adonis.

“Sure.” Eros tossed his hammer into his box of tools. Noah’s eyes followed Eros as Eros turned and spoke to his nephew.

Noah’s eyes drifted to Spiro’s bow-shaped lips before moving up to his eyes. Their eyes met, causing Noah’s heart to skip a beat. Noah had no idea what he saw in those cat eyes that were staring intensely back at him and caused his heart to flutter. It wasn’t disdain, dominance, or dismissal, the usual looks his peers gave him upon meeting him for the first time. It was... he’s really looking at me.

Everything about Spiro enthralled him. No longer wishing away the next two months before he could escape to Harvard, he was cautiously excited about the summer.

“Hi, I’m Noah.” He felt the heat of a blush on his cheeks as he extended his hand. Spiro looked directly at him; his deep stare instantly pinned Noah. His dark locks of hair, jet black, ran the length of his neck and curled at the nape of his neck. Noah tried to release a breath quietly. Adrenaline pumped through his veins like the multiple streams that fed into Lake Winnipesaukee. He’d never acted this boldly when it came to meeting someone. The way Spiro looked at him gave him the boost of confidence that he could actually stand here and talk to him. This was a first, and it surprised him.

Spiro shook Noah’s hand. “Um, my English is not so good. My name is Spiro.” A deep voice cast from his full lips. Spiro saying his own name sounded more exotic than when Noah’s grandmother said it.

Geeze Louise, his teeth are perfect, too. They’re so freaking white. Noah stumbled over his own words as he searched for something to say. Spiro’s gaze kept Noah from looking for more than a second before lowering his head.

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

A Taste of Agapi is a fantastic, atmospheric romance by Chris Ethan. It revolves around Jimmy and Ren, who become roommates and friends during Ren's semester abroad in Greece. Jimmy, who's Greek, is hiding the fact that he's gay, in addition to be completely ashamed it.

In addition to the romance, we get a wonderful taste of Greece, both the local flair, as well as the political climate. The homophobia and bullying that take place are both shocking and upsetting. I had no idea that Greece, in general, is not a tolerant country. So heart-breaking.

The political climate of Greece certainly adds to the amazing journey that Jimmy takes, as he learns to accept his homosexuality, as well as embracing it. This story is so much more than just falling in love. It is an eye-opening and heart-warming journey of self-discovery and coming of age.

As for Ren, my heart just breaks for him, as he not only suffers from culture shock, but is the target of some awful bullying. Every thought and emotion is so well written that I found myself transported into their hearts and minds.

I love the scene when Jimmy and Ren are playing "Never Have I Ever." It is just perfectly done!

A Taste of Agapi contains some wonderful secondary characters, who add so much heart. Chris Ethan has excelled at this marvelous tale, that is both irresistible and inspiring. Don't miss out on this one!

Author Bio

Chris Ethan is a book whore. He enjoys selling his feelings for money and other pleasures and is blatantly unashamed to do so for as long as he breathes. Chris Ethan is also a persona for Rhys Ethan, author of fantasy and sci-fi. He uses Chris Ethan to share stories of adult queer romance with those who need it. Before you delve into his books however, be warned. He likes putting his characters through shitstorms and hates anything conventional. But then there's that darned happy-ever-after. Also, he likes swearing. Deal with it!

When Carson Turner’s ex-boyfriend unexpectedly invites him to his destination wedding and presumes he’ll be there alone, Carson panics and invents a fake boyfriend to accompany him. That’s what happens when your greatest flaw seems to be to talk first and think later.

How can Sam Bixton say no to his little sister’s request for him to go to Greece with her best friend, who he’s only admired from afar? Who would turn down fun in the sun with the one guy that’s always been off-limits?

Carson and Sam have a lot to learn about each other, and very little time to do it. Will they succeed in convincing Carson’s ex that they’re devoted boyfriends, or is it all about to go bust…

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Boyfriend or Bust is an adorable, fun and enchanting fake boyfriend romance by Claire Castle.

Carson, in a huff, claims that he is bringing his boyfriend Sam to his ex's wedding. Problem is, he doesn't have a boyfriend at all, let alone one named Sam.

What follows is a sweet fake boyfriend story, as Caron's best friend Sloane hooks him up with her brother Sam for the wedding.

Carson and Sam are great together, from their instant attraction to their unfolding romance as they get to know each and strong feelings develop. I adore their banter, as it is snarky, yet sweet.

I enjoy the destination wedding, as the author takes us along for the ride, giving us a chance to experience Greece along with the couple.

Boyfriend or Bust is written in a light, funny style, keeping the reader engaged and entertained. I definitely recommend this Claire Castle book to anyone looking for a sweet and easy romance.
