God. I love Allison Temple's Up North. The first book in the Compass Stars series, this looks like it will be a fabulous series. 

I love everything about this story. The opposites attract factor is fabulous, with Damien a famous movie star, and Jack the fisherman who doesn't even know who Damien is. 

Stories like this always warm my heart. I love when a famous person can connect with someone who doesn't know who they are. The relationship naturally develops as the two are so good together. 

Of course, Damien's identity, his whereabouts, and the fact that Jack doesn't know who he is, creates tension that looms throughout. So good! 

Both men are at a crossroads in life. One's hiding out. The other's stuck in a situation he didn't choice. Both have their futures to deal with. I enjoy the way this is similar for both, and the way everything unfolds for them. 

Up North is a fabulous comfort read. This Allison Temple read is perfect when you're in the mood to sink your teeth into a warm hearted romance.

“I’m sending you to Alaska.”

The next morning, Roberta glares at me from behind her desk. The expression is one hundred percent do not fuck with me, and I resent it to the core of my being. If anyone’s been fucked with, it’s me.

“Alaska?”

“You’re lucky it’s not somewhere farther,” she says. “After your outburst last night, the studio is very unhappy. A bar fight with your director is not the kind of publicity they want right now.”

“It wasn’t a bar fight. He was being a drama queen. And I’m not exactly tap dancing for joy either.” In fact, I’m pacing on the rug. Sitting still is impossible. My whole body feels electric with anxiety.

“Yes, but you don’t stand to lose three hundred million dollars when this film flops. The premiere weekend box office numbers aren’t good.”

“That’s not my fault. If they hired someone who knew how to write dialogue better than a middle schooler, we’d be in much better shape.”

“That may be.” She knows as well as I do the script for Shadow League 4 was written and rewritten by no less than nine people over the last two years. Over the course of a bloated nearly-three-hour final cut, my character, supposedly a mafia son out for revenge, had done everything from drive a tank through the jungle to perform open-heart surgery on his assassin girlfriend while they were hiding out from the bad guys on a glacier. It was nonsensical. “But you calling your director a—” She glances down at a legal pad on her desk. “—talentless prick jockey in front of the entire world means it’s easy enough to pin the failure on you. And then you decide to pick a fight with him at a dive bar.”

“How many times do I have to tell you it wasn’t a fight? He made it—"

She cuts me off. “And that, in turn, will make it very difficult for you to work on any future franchises at this level again. How badly do you want to keep your job, Damian?”

She’s right. It’s already starting. The headlines this morning when I checked them still included recaps from the Cannes incident, but also featured new eye-catching questions like Damian Marshall in Barroom Brawl and Is it Time to Cancel Damian Marshall?

I sink into a chair. “Hawaii is farther. I could go to Hawaii.”

Unfortunately, though, Roberta is bulletproof. She’s been around the block too many times to be swayed by my appeal. Instead of melting and booking me a jet to Honolulu, she arches a perfectly plucked eyebrow—quite the feat considering Roberta’s face hasn’t moved in at least the last thirty years—and says, “Would you rather it be North Dakota?”

I cross my arms over my chest. “No need to say hurtful things like that. I thought we were friends.”

“I’m never friendly with the talent. Wouldn’t want you to get the wrong idea about how this relationship works.”

Puppuccino is a fabulous romance by Allison Temple. It's the second book in the multi-author Bold Brew series and I effin love it.

If you like dogs and romance, this is a must read. The dogs are a huge part of this story and will charm you throughout.

Oh man, poor Charlie. His puppy is ruling his life and ruining his apartment. Talk about a man who doesn't know he's in charge. 

When he hires Mason, a dog trainer, Mason is shocked by how clueless Charlie actually is. 

Having worked with a dog trainer before, I love the way all of this is written. It's so damn well written and had me smiling, quietly giggling, and laughing out loud. 

I love everything about these men. They're such opposites, yet wonderfully complement each other.  And as for the heat, they are on fire together. 

This book is just beautiful. The growth in Charlie, as he meets someone who encourages and supports him, is heart-warming. Charlie's journey is truly wonderful.

This is a story with funny dog antics, a horrible ex, and plenty of steamy sex. It's a fairly short tale at 163 pages, so it's a quick and easy read. 

Puppuccino is a fabulous romance. Everything about this Allison Temple story works for me. I love the men. I love the puppies. I love the romance. And I love the title, which is just adorable. You can't go wrong with this book.

Boyfriend With Benefits by Allison Temple

Allison Temple's Boyfriend With Benefits is a fun fake boyfriends romance.

When Bailey has to deal with an ex bully, he has Gordo pretend to be his boyfriend. What follows are some great surprises and discoveries. 

But the beauty in this story is Bailey's sudden sexual attraction to his roommate. And best of all, "Bailey. Are you under the impression that I'm straight?"

Gordo's a unique character. I love the way the two men differ. Bailey always thinks Gordo is doing something weird, and then we learn Gordo's thoughts and wow. Every time. Gordo's just fun and truly delightful. Love it. 

This is a wonderful combination of roommates, fake boyfriend, friends to lovers, and opposites attract. Their story has some hot first time and an ex bully.  

One of the intriguing factors in this story is the size difference between the men.  Seriously, it is a huge difference. As well, the differences between their personalities is ever present. 

I love the writing style, as it's fluid with two intriguing characters and an even more intriguing storyline. The author does a wonderful job of taking these men on a fun journey to truly discover each other and their feelings for one another. 

Overall, Boyfriend with Benefits will keep you entertained throughout. This Allison Temple friends to lovers romance is fantastic. It's sweet, mostly low-angst, and will leave you satisfied in the end. 

Honeymoon Sweet (Out & About #2) by Allison Temple

Honeymoon Sweet is a beautiful, feel good insta-love romance by Allison Temple. The second book in her Out & About series, it's perfectly delightful.

Doug and Tripp are two men who both thought they were happy. Ends up they were both wrong. One was left at the altar. The other is suddenly realizing that his relationship is one that is really only friends with benefits. The result is a fake fiance relationship story that is charming as can be. 

This is a story of learning the importance of being friends first, before starting a relationship based on only sex. This aspect is well explored and well developed. It's a story of learning a lot about oneself, resulting in a significant amount of self growth.

Doug and Tripp are two men who could easily fall in love, but it doesn't seem possible. Or real. After all, can you trust insta love?

The writing style is fantastic, instantly pulling the reader in, and keeping them intrigued throughout. The storyline and character development is both entertaining and riveting. There is plenty of humor, including some ridiculous nicknames that had me laughing throughout. 

Honeymoon Sweet is a romance of self reflection and self growth. Allison Temple had me soothed and happy throughout this story of second chances at love. This story of finding someone who loves you as you are is perfect when you're in the mood for a easy, yet fulfilling read.

Allison Temple's Work-Love Balance is cute from the start. And from there it just gets better, as emotions become involved. This is a delightful boss/employee romance between IT guy Brady and the extremely IT challenged Nash. When we meet Brady, we get to see his likable and funny side. As for Nash, we soon learn about his divorce, as well as his struggle to balance work and time with his kids. Nash has always been a micro-manager, never able to devote time to his family. And Brady has always been too much of a workaholic himself, trying to get his business off the ground. Neither man has been open to love. Until now. Their relationship is super sweet and romantic, as well as full of fun banter. These are two men who have always put work first, and seeing them develop a relationship with each other is super enjoyable. Adding to the fun, there is plenty of humor to offset the actual seriousness of each man. It's a great mix, creating a hot, opposites attract romance that I couldn't put down.
Their story also includes an ex husband, two enjoyable twin boys, and a whole lot of tension. The family moments with Nash are very well written, with the reader able to see both sides of the issues.

Told in alternating first person pov, the reader becomes fully immersed in the emotions of both characters. The writing style is wonderfully smooth, soothing, and comforting.
Work-Love Balance is a great story of trying to balance your life and finding a way to prioritize better. Allison Temple delights in this sweet and easy read. I love it all and highly recommend it.

Hot Potato is the perfect title for this Allison Temple story of two men who meet over a burnt sweet potato, and then bond over a video game. 

Linc's closeted and struggles with coming out. He's a man who's been running away and hiding for years. He's a man who doesn't know how to let himself be out and happy; a man living with guilt and fear. 

Avery is so sweet, completely awkward, and absolutely adorable. Linc is a tough looking man who's full of fear. 

They are perfect together, and their chemistry is sizzling. They have some great first times for Linc. We all enjoy a first time gay moment, right?

Both men are struggling with family issues, making for some interesting side stories. And they definitely have a few issues that cause angst.

The author's writing is great, with loveable characters, a riveting storyline, and a seamless flow. The writing is smooth, with good dialogue, some cute humor, and some fun antics. 

Overall, Hot Potato is a wonderful story of courage and strength, a story of support and love. This is the perfect addition to Allison Temple's Seacroft Series.
