The Guy with the Suitcase is an emotional read, as Chris Ethan has entwined two amazing characters with a whole lot of heart. Chris manages to transport you to the streets and all that homeless youth have to endure.
First of all, this ambitious story tackles the importance of taking care of and helping the homeless lgbt kids. Once on the streets, they can't get a leg up in life without some help. How does one get a job when they can't shower or have decent clothes? How do they earn any money other than selling themselves? It's an endless cycle where they cannot win without a helping hand, and this reminder will leave you wrecked.
Rafe and Pierce are two homeless teens who meet up on the streets. Both have complex stories, full of pain and hurt. These two meet under the worst of circumstances, but finding one another will ultimately save them.
Rafe's sick and is going to die on the streets if he doesn't get help. OMG. This part of the story brought out so many feels. I just wanted to wrap Rafe up in my arms and take him home with me.
As the title eludes, Pierce's suitcase is an important character in itself. It's hold everything that Pierce has and everything that's in his heart. Some of these scenes are so damn emotional, and left me gutted.
The Guy with the Suitcase is an excellent reminder of the things we take for granted. It's the tale of longing for a chance, a break and some damn acceptance, as well as someone to help with the loneliness. It's a story of love, friendship, commitment, and sacrifice. It's beautifully developed, contains some riveting twists and turns, and will keep the reader rooting for these two young men. My heart ached for these two throughout.

Most impressive of all, however, is the love that develops between these two men. The intense desire to help each other, at their own detriment, is remarkable. Rafe and Pierce are impressive in their levels of compassion, care, and love. They are outstanding and memorable in every way, and will forever be engrained in our heart.
My only slight complaint is the ending, as it just seems a little too much, too soon. That said, it still fits with the storyline well and is acceptable.
The Guy with the Suitcase is powerful in it's delivery and fabulous with it's characters. Chris Ethan doesn't really create a fictional tale, as this is real life. People like this exist and need our help. I am extremely impressed with this ambitious romance.
