Excerpt From Catching Kalen by Maya Nicole & Britt Andrews

His eyebrow lifted mimicking the corner of his mouth. “Monroe. And you are?” He sat back against the stool, cool as a cucumber, but there was something about him that made my heart race.

Annnnd that was ridiculous. He’d said like… three things to me, but it was really about the way he carried himself, like he could decimate a man with his brain or some shit. Fuck, the tequila was kicking in.

“Kalen,” I replied as the bartender put our drinks down. Monroe slipped her a bill, telling her to keep the change. He picked up his glass of whiskey and motioned for me to do the same.

“Well, Kalen. What should we toast to tonight? New adventures? Good times?” An emotion I couldn’t place flashed across his face, and I swallowed, my throat suddenly tight.

“All of the above,” I rasped, pushing my glass against his before throwing it back, shutting my eyes as the liquid burned going down.

As I opened my eyes, I brought my glass down, and a little drop of liquor slid down my chin.

Monroe’s eyes tracked its path, and before I could lift my hand to wipe it away, his thumb

swiped it off my warm skin.

I sat there frozen. What the hell was that? Blinking, I glanced around the bar, but nobody was paying any attention to the man who just wiped tequila off of my face with his thumb.

Since I was a glutton for punishment, I looked over at him. He was smirking at me. Smirking. All I could do was stare in fascination as he took the thumb that was still wet and popped it into his mouth.

Jesus Christ. My cock twitched in my jeans. I didn’t know what was happening, but I felt really hot and confused… and hot. I needed to get out of there.

Excerpt From Mr. Mystery by Lana Kole

Jason swallowed back his curse and waited as patiently as one could while color floated around him as everyone retrieved their shots and fresh drinks. It seemed like ages, and a ton of empty congratulations from faceless people, before he reached the bar.

He ended up beside a flashy guy in a maroon suit. It cupped his ass nicely, and Jason gave him a second glance. A martini glass sat in front of him, and the man tilted his head back with his shot. The bartender eyed Jason once, saw the direction of his gaze, and skedaddled to the end of the bar.

When Red sat the shot glass back down, his head turned left and right before he paused in the direction of the bartender. His shoulders slumped, and Jason sidled up to him.

“L, guess you’re right. You are the one getting lucky tonight. Hope he’s Mr. Right,” he growled just loud enough for Jason to hear him as the song changed.

“Who’s Mr. Right?” he asked, leaning down.

A sparkling black mask turned in his direction. Behind the dripping effect that curved over his cheeks and nose, a pair of bright blue eyes peered at him.

“No one. That’s the problem,” he answered without missing a beat.

Jason chuckled. “A pessimist. A man after my own heart.”

“Give me a few more drinks and I’ll be as optimistic as anyone,” Red muttered.

As he tilted the martini glass back with lithe fingers, Jason got a look at the front of his suit. Or more specifically, the collar that wrapped around his throat and dipped beneath his black shirt.

Jason swallowed.

Holy hell. He’d never seen someone wear a harness like that so openly. So naturally.

He wanted to slide his index finger beneath the leather and his skin and feel his Adam’s apple bob as he swallowed.

Maybe even around his cock.

Jason cleared his throat and motioned for the bartender. He needed a drink, quick. Jason wasn’t one to hook up, not usually. It was too risky and usually resulted in more trouble than it was worth.

But Red here? With that spicy little collar just begging to be played with?

He’d take a chance on it.

Excerpt From Hemlock & Thorns by J.J. Riley and Suki Gale

“Welcome to Hemlock & Thorns,” I greeted the gorgeous, tattooed, and annoyed man standing near the door. “What can I help you with today?”

The man in question looked up at me and while I could tell by the firm set of his shoulders that he was frustrated, it didn’t seem to be with me. Which I counted myself fortunate because he might be the hottest person I’ve seen in quite a long time. A black wide brimmed hat that hipsters were inclined to wear, a long, but well-maintained beard, a white t-shirt was visible under his black and red plaid button up, cuffed blue jeans, and black boots completed the look. As he stalked over to me I took in his warm brown eyes that took me in, with one quick look up and down.

“Hey man,” he gave me a brief smile. “I need your help and your shop seems like the perfect place for what I need.”

Taken aback by his deep, rumbling voice and his words it took me a minute to respond. “What might that be?”

“I know there is this whole language of flowers thing,” he waved his hands a bit, like he was too angry to find the words. “I need a bouquet that says ‘fuck you’ for my ex-girlfriend who isn’t taking the hint, something for her to leave me the hell alone. You have anything that can help me with that?”

Sheltered (The End, and the Beginning #1) by Sariah Skye

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Almost three years ago now, the world as we all knew it ended.
But my life didn’t.
When news came about of the virus that would eventually take out billions, I hopped on my bike and headed into the mountains of Montana to hide. That’s where I’ve been ever since, alone in this abandoned town.
Until one day, from seemingly out of nowhere, a beautiful man literally stumbled outside my doorstep. He was weak, vulnerable, and needed protection. Needed shelter. He was a victim of horrible experiments, imprisoned by the same “people” that caused the virus to begin with, forced to endure agony I could never fathom.
Until now.
He needed me to keep him safe.
I needed him to remember that life is still worth living.
In the end, he and I will prove that love is the only thing left that matters.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Sheltered is an interesting dystopian read by Sariah Skye. At first, I was weary, as this isn't the best time to read a dystopian story, but I am glad I persisted.

The story is well done, with an interesting world and intriguing characters. It's a story of diseases, aliens, mates, and more. There is a good amount of suspense, as the reader slowly learns what's going on.

The story is one of two gay men who meet when Zeke helps save Niam. Their story is a rollercoaster ride for sure, full of action, danger, and romance. The writing is wonderful and story telling is great. I am definitely impressed with the writing.

Overall, Sarah Skye's Sheltered is a satisfying dystopian story. It's well worth a read next time you're in the mood for an end of the world survival story.

Be Your Mistake (Be Yours Trilogy) by Lizzie Fox & Sariah Skye

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Blurb

Wesley Greenway:

I’m a complete f*ck up. I’m now thirty, and I’ve watched all my family and friends grow up and fall in love. They have noisy houses, babies and… happiness.
I hear the silence, night after night in my Minneapolis apartment. Music and tattooing are the only things that keep me sane. And love? Who needs it? I have a “lust and leave” ‘em attitude. It’s served me well… until now.

Until one night in October… I get drunk and make a huge mistake with music’s hottest bachelor.
There’s just one thing, though: I’m not gay. It’s just a mistake.

A mistake that blows all my sanity to the wayside.

Miles Madison:

I’ve lived a charmed life. I’m one of the most popular rockstars in America. I’ve won awards and worked with some seriously hot acts. I’ve done whatever I’ve ever wanted without recourse… until now.

My life is shaken up with scandal, and has left me without a band and without a manager; my career is totally up in the air. For all the fame and fortune I have, I’m now alone. And love? Forget it. I can’t take the risk.

Until one night in October… I have a lapse of judgment and make one of the biggest mistakes of my life.

But that mistake gives me hope that all is not lost.

If only I can get Wes to admit that this mistake between us wasn’t a mistake at all.

It’s the best thing that’s ever happened to either one of us.

Be Your Mistake is a "Bisexual Awakening" standalone contemporary MM romance set in the same "world" as my MF Be Yours Trilogy, but can be read entirely separate. This story is suitable for adults only.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Damn, Be Your Mistake by Lizzie Fox and Sariah Skye, is a fantastic rocker romance. Part of the Be Yours Trilogy, it is easily read as a standalone.

Miles is a closeted bisexual rocker, who is fighting both personal and professional problems. Wesley's a straight acquaintance who is suddenly experiencing a sexual awakening with the rocker star. Thus the beginning of a gay for you story for one man, and an out for you story for the other.

This is a story that grows from acquaintances to friends, from friends to mutual attraction, from attraction to fooling around, and ultimately from fooling around to love. There are plenty of hot moments, including a lot of steamy first times, which is always fun.

These two men have some major complications in their way. One doesn't believe in love, the other doesn't believe himself worthy of love. Their story is one of doubts and fears, paparazzi problems, and hiding. It expertly explores the emotions of finding someone who stands up for you. It's both beautiful and emotional.

The writing is stellar, with deep, complex characters and a wonderful pace. Everything flows seamlessly in this riveting and compelling romance.

I really enjoyed this book and plan to go back and read the earlier MF books from this series.

Be Your Mistake is an emotional story of finding someone who loves you as a person, not as a star. This Lizzie Fox and Sariah Skye romance is perfect when you're looking for a gay for romance. I love every moment of it and will definitely be re-reading it at some point.
