Trending on social media is her nightmare.

Beth Evans, former Olympic golden girl, known for a national scandal and daughter of a rising political star, is more than happy to stay out of the spotlight, living life as a normal single mom in a small Jersey town. Marc lives for the three b’s; baseball, bars, and ball bunnies, until the unthinkable happened. An accident destroys his shoulder and his career, leaving him desperate to get back in the game. Too bad no one hires notorious bad boys to coach. With his reputation on life support, Marc finds his saving grace might be the feisty blonde he can’t get out of his head.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

More than a Game is a great fake relationship romance by Jenni Bara. I feel into this book easily and ended up being unable to put it down.

I absolutely love Marc and Beth. Their relationship is great, and everything between them is enjoyable.

There's a lot going on in their story. Both characters are well developed and multi-layered.

Of course, their story also brings to light the downfalls of being in the public eye, and the harsh treatment one can face on social media. This is all to relatable and hard to read at times.

This is a story with a wonderful group of secondary characters, who fully pull you into their orbit. If you enjoy lovable families, look no further.

The writing is great, with plenty of heart, humor, and life brought into this story. The tweets are hysterical, the family is heart warming, and the romance is sweet.

More than the Game is so much more than I was expecting. This Jenni Bara book is a wonderful sports romance that's compelling, charming, and riveting. Definitely check it out.

The Friendship Equation by J.R. Gray

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

I never thought I’d go to college a virgin, but unless something changes, and fast, that’s what’s going to happen. In comes Harden Hart, my All American boy-next-door best friend with an offer to help in a way I’d never imagined.

The boy who turned everything he touched to gold had a filthy side to him I’d never seen. Oh, and did I mention he’s straight?

We could keep this fun but we had to hide it from both our fathers. We could smile for the cameras, focus on winning the state swimming championship and maintain Harden’s image. Easy enough, right?

Only Harden didn’t want to hide. His addiction to our not-so-private hook-ups put everything at risk with his father’s planned presidential run, and I risked losing my best friend if anyone found out.

But the biggest risk of all—the risk of breaking my own heart by falling for someone who was never mine to begin with.

Maybe love just isn't in the equation.

***The Friendship Equation is a childhood best-friends-to-lovers, bi for you, forbidden sports romance standalone, featuring a dirty-talking boy next door and his sweet virginal best friend.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

The Friendship Equation is a fabulous new adult romance by JR Gray.

This story is that of two best friends, one of whom is a virgin.

I was really excited going into this one. Although I enjoyed it, it took me a while to get into it. Later on though, when things get in their way, I became fully invested and loved it.

This is just one of the those feel good, friends to lovers romance that you can't help but to internally swoon over. Best friends since kindergarten, these two have a bond as strong as one can have. And god, I love these two together. The feelings that develop are just perfect, and it's a fun ride as they fall in love.

I always enjoy when a political family gets in the way of their child being out. And this one has just that, as Harden's father wants to run for president. This sets up a great dynamic, as the boys have always been best friends, but for appearances sake, Vance knows he's beneath him.

This is a story with a virgin, some sexual exploration, and best friends to lovers. There's political issues involved, as well as sports, and being separated for the first time because of college.

As always, the writing is good and the JR's storyline will keep you reading late in the night.

The Friendship Equation is a wonderful friends to lovers new adult romance. JR Gray does a fabulous job creating a strong friendship and testing these men on the strength of their love. It's a great feel-good story with enough angst to keep things interesting.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - MF - Sideways (Speakeasy Taproom #4) by Lisa Hughey

SIDEWAYS BY LISA HUGHEY

Release Date: July 1, 2021

Cover Design: Elle Maxwell Designs

She’s a political princess and media darling...

There’s no such thing as bad publicity. Yeah, right. Tell that to the PR firm that handles Tracy’s very prominent political family. Pushed by scandal from Boston to the boondocks, now she’s on the other side of the serving tray, dishing up beer and burgers, hoping no one recognizes her. But there’s something very familiar--and maddeningly tempting--about the new caterer at Speakeasy.

He’s a cranky recluse...

Colton was the star of the celebrity chef circuit until he wasn’t anymore. Now he lives in a remote country cabin and spends his time alone, far from the spotlight and liking it that way. Until the gorgeous new waitress at Speakeasy starts poking at his resolve and suddenly all he wants is to see her let down her hair. And spread it all over his pillow. She’s got secrets he knows he won’t like, but he can’t stay away from her.

She lives in the spotlight, and he hates attention. When her public life collides with his private one, can their love write a fairy-tale ending after all?

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Sideways is the fourth book in the Speakeasy Taproom series. This is Lisa Hughey's contribution to this multi-author, small town series.

This is a story with a lot of family issues, as CeeCee comes from a political family. There's a world of shame forced upon her which had me confused at the start. I have no clue why she was so scorned for having a dating app. That had me distracted as it made no sense. Of course, towards the end, it sort of made sense. But it still seems weird to me, thus keeping my rating a little lower.

CeeCee and Colt are complete opposites, with Colt resenting all CeeCee represents.

I appreciate the situation both characters are stuck in. Both are struggling to decide their future. Colt's been stuck with no future plans or goals, after having a public breakdown. It makes for an interesting element, with CeeCee able to help him.

I adore the way the two come together and the way things evolve for them. I adore seeing the way Ceecee helps forced Colt back into his career as a chef.

And then there's CeeCee. She's running and has a secret. Both leave a little tension looming throughout.

Sideways is a great read. I enjoyed the Lisa Hughey romance. It's a nice, touching addition to this small town series.

Serve (White House Men #4) by Nora Phoenix

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Two stubborn alpha men meet the one boy who wants them both…

Denali knows what he wants. He loves his job in the Residence of the White House, but what he craves is serving. A Dom. Or in his case: two.

When tragedy strikes once again, Denali offers himself to Milan, the president’s brother in law. Milan accepts, but he insists Secret Service agent Asher joins them as well. Denali is more than fine with that. Two hot, dominant men is even better than one, right?

One encounter leads to more. Asher warns Denali that he can’t fall for Milan, that the tough, closed off Dom will break his heart. He’s learned that the hard way himself. But Denali knows no other way than to give himself completely, and he’s willing to deal with the consequences.

When Milan and Asher prove to be too stubborn to see the truth, it’s Denali who shows them that love is worth taking a risk for. But will it be enough to bring them together? And how will everyone heal and move on after the most devastating blow yet?

Serve is an MMM gay romance with an age gap, featuring a Dom, a switch, and a super sweet boy. It’s the fourth book in the White House Men series, a continuing MM romantic suspense series set in the White House that needs to be read in order. Serve ends with a happily ever after, but the suspense plot ends on a cliffhanger and will be continued in the rest of the series.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Serve, the fourth book in Nora Phoenix's White House Men is another fabulous political romance. And leave it to Nora to gift us with another of her sexy menage/poly romances! Ohhh, can't get enough of these beauties!

Milan, Asher, and Delani. 'Nuf said. Three men who all crave kink and have been denying themselves due to their jobs.

Asher and Milan have hooked up before, but they now find themselves hooking up again. They aren't perfect for each other though, as they've both dominant, so it's only circumstances that have them together.

And then there's Delani, who craves to serve. And for him, serving two men is better than one.

There's a slew of emotions going on in this tale. Milan is suffering after a tragedy. As a tough Dom, we get to see his sensitive side, as he needs the other two men to help him heal. I love the way the author carries this out. There's grief, healing, and plenty of sexual exploration. I love it all.

I love Ken, the president's son, and his relationship with Delani. The two grow closer together, and their conversations are great.

The BDSM scenes are hot, with different pairings as they're figuring everything out. Delani needs to learn how to be a sub, despite his natural tendencies, and Asher is there to teach him. Milan meanwhile is the sadist in the group. The chemistry between the men is awesome and the scenes between them are sizzling. The author certainly doesn't disappoint. Both the sex scenes and the emotions during them are wonderful.

And then there's the on going political issues. They continue to be fascinating and absolutely riveting. What a ride! Danger, murder, suspense, and political intrigue. In this book we get one step closer to learning who's behind everything. The author has created a fantastic, messy and tangled story, and I can't get enough of it.

Overall, Serve is a riveting continuation of this White House Men series. Nora Phoenix delights with this mix of sex, romance, and mystery. I couldn't put it down.

Rory Fisher is an activist with a heart of gold and nerves of steel. He's not afraid to call Avery on his bullshit, and that's why Avery knows Rory is the perfect fake fiancé to help him take a stand. If he still feels a little too much for his ex, well, he can shove that down and suck it up to beat his dad at his own game.

Until Rory encourages his most hidden desires. Until he makes Avery feel stronger, braver, and freer than he's ever been.

Loving Rory is easy, but Avery's father won't just sit back and let them have their happily ever after. They will have to fight: for their love, for justice, for a future together.

This is one power struggle they can't afford to lose.

_______________________________________________________________________

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Faking A Groom, the third book in the Marital Bliss series is a great fake boyfriend romance. This DJ Jamison had me consumed throughout.

Rory and Avery get their second chance in this book. From the beginning, the emotions come alive with the long lost love feeling. Of course, there's plenty of tension and unresolved feelings as well. There's frustration and political motivations at play. And then there's an agreement to become fake fiancees. Personally, I love the way it all develops.

This is a story of Avery having always been forced into the closet. All for political reasons. This is a story of Avery trying to be real to himself, as he learns he doesn't have to live under his father's shadow. And, wow, Rory has an interesting past, with a loving family who all fight to help those who can't help themselves. His family fights for equal rites and more and it's wonderful. And yes, it's a total contrast to Avery's family, as Avery's father works against gay rites, despite knowing his son is gay.

Not only is Avery gay, but he has a femme side that he's longing to explore. He likes silky clothes and makeup. This is a story with stockings, garters, and lace panties. It's all wonderful sexy and fun to read as with Rory, he finally finds someone who can support and encourage him. He's always been conservative on the outside, even though he's anything but. I love that Rory helps him to find himself.

Written in alternating 3rd person pov, the writing is great. The characters are complex and have a compelling journey. The pace and tone are enjoyable and I was left loving every second of this tale. I found myself experiencing all the emotions along with the men and I couldn't put this book down.

Faking  a Groom is fantastic book. I definitely recommend this DJ Jamison read the next time you're in the mood for a fake fiancee romance. And if you love lingerie wearing men, this is a must read.

Avery knew that Gil wanted him to tell his father he was coming out, in no uncertain terms. He didn’t understand the manipulative powers Drake Kinkaid possessed. Or maybe he did, now that he worked for him. Avery had never been able to out-argue his father. Each time he tried, he found himself carefully repositioned, as if a piece on a chess board, until he was agreeing to his father’s terms.

“I don’t know what do,” Avery said. “I’ve tried to be patient, but he always talks me out of coming out. I think I’ve got my mind made up, and he somehow convinces me to keep waiting. I hate that I’m so damn weak.”

“Don’t be so hard on yourself. Your dad is a politician. He persuades people for a living.”

“He’s always got a loophole,” Avery grumbled. “Like today. He said, it’d be different if—”

He stopped short, eyes locked on a man who walked past their table toward the bathrooms. Something about the shape of him and the way he moved—long legs, slim hips, smooth stride—reminded him of Rory.

He couldn’t see his face, but his hair was the right color. It was gathered in a knot at his neck instead of loose, so it was tough to gauge exact length, but damn, that ass. Was it possible to recognize a guy by his ass?

“Avery?”

He blinked and looked back toward Gil. “Hmm?”

“You were saying that your father said it’d be different if…?”

“Oh.” He cleared his throat, trying to shake the vision of Rory and the niggling feeling that he should go talk to him. It felt significant that he was here tonight, if he was here. Avery wouldn’t put it past himself to imagine things. Rory had been on his mind a lot since the gala.

“My father said it’d be different if I was engaged. That he’d support me then.” His gaze drifted back to the bathrooms, watching as Rory emerged. He was sure it was him now. He’d recognize those sharp features anywhere. Heart thumping, he asked Gil, “Do you think he means that?”

“Maybe,” Gil said, though he sounded dubious. “I don’t know.”

Avery rapped the table with his knuckles. “Right. He could be bluffing. There’s only one way to find out.”

“And that is…”

Avery took a big swallow of his beer. Then grinned at Gil. “Guess I have to get engaged.”

“Wait, what?”

Avery nodded. “You keep telling me to do something. Well, you’re right. I have to call my father’s bluff.”

“Oh, Avery, I don’t know…”

“I’ve got the perfect person in mind to help me.”

“Uh…who is that?”

“Rory Fisher.”

Rory, the guy who left you because you wouldn’t leave the closet? How is he the right—”

“Because he’s here,” Avery said, feeling euphoric as intoxication, years of regret and longing, and a desire to break free all coalesced into the best idea ever. “It’s fate, man. It’s like the universe is telling me to make my father put his money where his mouth is. He’s always got a reason, an excuse, a loophole. Well this time, I’ve got the loophole, and I’m going to take it.”

“By getting engaged,” Gil said disbelievingly. “To a man who dumped you.”

Avery laughed. “Crazy, right?”

“Yes,” Gil said emphatically.

“Good.” Avery shoved back his chair. “Because I’ve tried sane and respectful and calm. It’s time for a little crazy. It’s time for drastic action.”

“Yeah, but Avery…”

He held up a finger. “Hold that thought. I have to go propose to the man who got away.”

Crash (Northwoods # 2) by Grant C. Holland

“Please don’t let me die.”

When Hal, a victim of a small plane crash in the Minnesota Northwoods, first met Gabe, the earliest EMT on the scene, surviving to see another day was the only thing on his mind. But there is more behind the warm, reassuring smile. Gabe is like a stone dropped into the pond of Hal's life, causing ripples that will change everything forever.

Hal Brentwood is the straight son of an East Coast corporate titan. With his good looks and innocent charm, he’s selected as the family’s ticket into the world of politics.

Gabe Peligo is a triple-trained first responder for the small Northwoods town of Arrowhead Falls. He’s EMT, firefighter, and sometimes police presence in an area that caters to thousands of tourists looking for an escape from their hectic world back home. Saving lives is his life work.

In the hospital following the crash, a spark passes between Hal and Gabe. Outdoor adventures fan a smoldering attraction into flames. Gabe brings Hal to life in ways that he never expected.

Unfortunately, life circumstances threaten to stop them from building a relationship. Gabe’s circle of friends are natural political enemies for Hal. The idea of Hal coming out gay during a political campaign is anathema to his campaign manager and, ultimately, his all-powerful father. Will their hearts find a way to be together or will the interests of others be impossible to overcome?

Crash is a 60,000 word male-male romance set in the Northwoods of Minnesota. It is the second book in the Northwoods series and includes characters from the first. It may be read as a standalone romance. It includes first time gay, coming out, and fish out of water themes. There are steamy moments and a guaranteed happy ending.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Crash is the second book in Grant C Holland's Northwoods series, which is a sweet small town series.

This one has politics involved, as Hal, a city guy comes to Northwoods to run for office. When he's in a plane crash, he meets Gabe, who saves his life. What follows is a great romance, with a lone kiss and some nice first times and a whole lot of character growth.

Hal has been living the life he's been forced into. He's always been closeted, denying his desires. Until meeting Gabe, and suddenly wanting more.

The writing is wonderful, as the author excels in combining small town feels with tender romance. Both men are well developed, with unique backgrounds, personalities, and voices. And both men are perfectly lovable. I enjoy the easy manner with everything unfolds for them. It's definitely a story of two men who are meant to be together, and make one another better.

I truly enjoyed Crash. This Grant C Holland story is perfect when you're looking for a sweet coming out romance.

Fable's Foes by Gianni Holmes

Amazon Link - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

A cold-hearted club enforcer...
An undercover snitch in love...
And a kidnapped boy both men lust after…

Booker
“You don't have to fear your virtue. I don’t sleep with what I have to kill.”

As the enforcer of the Grimm Reapers motorcycle club, it’s my job to remove threats to my brothers. Fable should be dead…not bringing out my protective instincts and making me believe in a second chance with Zak.

Zak
“Karma’s a bitch that comes dressed in the form of loving two men with whom I have no future.”

Joining the Grimm Reapers under false pretenses is possibly the dumbest thing I’ve ever done. Falling in love with the enforcer of that club and the boy he wants to kill ranks just as high on my stupidity scale. But the danger isn’t enough for me to let them go.

Fable
“I made him see there were more benefits to keeping me alive than killing me.”

I grew up hearing horror stories about the bikers of Smoky Vale. When they capture me, I must do everything to hide that I’m a little. But the bikers aren’t what I expected, and my little craves them as my Daddy. Can we three misfits find common ground that brings out the best in each other?

If you enjoy poly-relationships, motorcycle club romance, morally ambiguous characters, and mild age play without ABDL then you’ll love Fable’s Foes. While this book can be read as a standalone, it’s highly recommended to read book 0 and book 1 in the series to enjoy this story to its fullest.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Dear Lord, from the first page of Fable's Foes, I was hooked. Part of Gianni Holmes' the Grimm Reaper's MC club series, it's angsty as hell, as well as so freaking good!

Omg, I just love everything about this book. It's an amazing blend of kink and danger, all woven with so many layers that I was constantly surprised at the depth of this story. What starts as a story of two MC club members and a young man who's saved, soon turns into one of the most emotional and multi-layered books I've ever read.

This story includes a complex storyline, full of a developing triad and age play. Add in some undercover work, plenty of danger and action, and an amazing element of intrigue throughout, and wow, just wow!

First let's talk about the men. Booker's a complicated man with a complicated past. Seeing him torn by his feelings for both Fable and his loyalties to others is breath-taking. I love it all. Zac meanwhile, is suddenly more than the readers expect when his secrets are revealed. And then there's Fable. Ohhh, sweet, lovable Fable. His upbringing is gut-wrenching, and his needs are fascinating.

It's tough to explain how impressive this story is. It's a wonderful mix of Daddy kink, age play, and forced proximity, mixed in with danger, action, and suspense. And then, then we get even more layers of deliciousness with all the emotions involved.

Now, for the kink side of things. I can't get enough of Fable and his younger side. And, oh my, diapers. I can't explain why I love reading age play with diapers, but I really do. Everything about this works for me. Everything.

And then there's the sex. Booker and Zac have long been hot together, but add in the growing attraction they both feel for Fable, and wow! And that's not even talking about the emotions involved. Let's just say this is a delicious developing triad.

And if I wasn't already impressed, the author throws in some brilliant humor in Booker's aunt who I fell in love with immediately.

Ohhh, Fable's Foes is so fucking good. This Gianni Holmes treasure is a story that will leave you on the edge of your seat throughout, completely riveted by the levels of betrayal and the severity of tough choices that need to be made.
I Love, love, love this book! It's an absolute must read the next time you're in the mood for severe angst.

Walk Tall (Assassin's Claws #1) by Susi Hawke

Blurb

Watch out for the Assassin’s Claws…

Clay Moreno is a paid killer, just like his four brothers. It’s the family business—they fight together, they die together. Whether they’re working as a group or alone, they are a tight unit who protect their own.

Clay drew the short straw on their latest mission: assassinate the American president. He knew the case was going to be tough, but the last thing he expected to find was his mate… the president’s own son. The fact that he began the case with plans to seduce his way into the White House via that same son is beside the point. What his mate doesn’t know shouldn’t hurt him…

Nick Jackson is lonely and ordinary in a family of overachievers. He doesn’t want to do photo ops for the press, prep for the next year’s tests over the summer or any of the hundreds of other things his mother hassles him about. All he wants is to relax after his first year of college, work on his tan… and maybe find a boy to flirt with.

This is the first in a new series of short reads. Note: While mpreg exists in this world, we won’t have a birth in every book. This book contains killer cats, ninja bunnies and a life-changing mating bite. Get ready for naughty-knotty fun and low-ball humor as only Susi Hawke can provide.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Susi Hawke's Walk Tall is the first book in the Assassin's Claws series.

As with everything Susi writes, the storyline is amazing, the characters are compelling and likeable, and the flow is seamless. I love it all!

Clay is sent to assassin the president, and uses the president's son, Nick as his way into the white house. What Clay didn't expect however, is that Nick is his true mate.

They are so damn cute together, and their story is full of heavy conflict, as Clay is a shifter, and Nick is someone who knows that shifters exist, despite it always being kept a secret. I love this flip from traditional shifter romances. Their relationship is fun and flirty, with a lot of humor as Nick doesn't know everything about shifters. It's always fun when a non-shifter starts to learn more and more about shifters.

Their story is full of danger, romance, action, and sex. And, omg, the knotting scene is fantastic!

I absolutely love Walk Talk and highly recommend it, even to those who don't love shifters. It's just sweet and hot, entertaining and riveting. I can't wait for more of this series!
