Something Of Him is the first time I have read anything by Jonathan M. Lazar and I am beyond thrilled with it.
This story is so darn multi-layered, so raw and so realistic, making it gut-wrenching as well as hopeful. This book had me crying, screaming and swooning.
The story revolves around Jeffrey's life, over a span of years. It follows his heartbreak, his bad decisions, his good decision, and all the complications involved. It is not a happy story during the details, but it has an overall wonderful message.
Jonathan does a fantastic job of telling this tale through an ongoing flip between the past and the present. Make sure to pay attention, as to not miss anything.
I positively fell in love with this story. From the very beginning, I was completely hooked and ended up having to read late into the night.
I don't want to give anything away, but one thing that I find extremely impressive is the way the decision to make porn was discussed. I loved it and appreciated this strong viewpoint.
I highly recommend Something Of Him to anyone looking for a complicated emotional ride.
