Genre: M/M Contemporary Romance

A life-changing sacrifice for art and love.

Daltrey Boxbaum is an artist, a lover, an addict, and more. Through the years, he finds and loses love, fights addiction, and defines himself in new ways.

Martin Hannan was the love of Daltrey’s life, the son of a world-famous Silicon Valley developer and tycoon. Left behind to fight his own battles, Martin’s reappearance in Daltrey’s life turns the stable world he’s worked so hard for inside out.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Lynn Michaels' second book in the Love on the Line series, Paint on the Canvas, is a fabulous follow up to Book One, Lines on the Mirror.

The series is the story of Marty and his ex boyfriend Daltrey. In book one, we see what happens to Marty. This second book follows Daltrey, from his past to the events in Marty's book, and then beyond.

Damn. Personally, I find this book makes the first one even better. Both men have had addiction issues. And both men have to hit rock bottom to find a reason to live again. The author does a fantastic job of illustrating the easy ways one can fall into addiction through casual acquaintances. She also explores that people needs to find their own way to recovery and in general.

It's all riveting, as well as completely depressing. These boys live hard lives and have many demons to fight.

I can't recommend Paint on the Canvas enough. Definitely read this series when you're in the mood for a serious story of hitting rock bottom and then recovering and finding a beautiful happily ever after. And, holy hell, the ending is phenomenal! I love, love, love it, tears of beauty and all.

Lines on the Mirror
Love on the Line Book 1

Martin has always done everything his parents ever asked, never making waves, but never learning how to say no either. Then his new partying neighbors introduce him to a different lifestyle that pushes his limits.

The only thing keeping him grounded is getting back in touch with his first love, Daltrey, who moved across the country when they were still teenagers. Now, he's a successful artist and plays by his own rules. He wants Martin but won't compromise his morals.

When Martin lets his new friends drag him down until he hits bottom, can he ever find his way back to Daltrey and take control of his life?

Note: Love on the Line books can be read in any order.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Lynn Michael's Lines on the Mirror, the first book in the Love on the Line series, is one hell of a tough read. I actually had to re-start a couple of times, as one needs to really be in the mood for this story.

This book focuses on Martin's point of view, showing how easily he falls into a life of drugs, orgies, and hard living. He's a vulnerable young man who just wants to have friends. And what friends that end up being.

In the meanwhile, these new "friends" of his end up reuniting him with his first love, Daltrey. This is where things get going, as Daltrey doesn't want anything to do with Martin's life style.

What follows is a story of tough decisions and hitting rock bottom. Personally, I absolutely love the trouble Martin gets into, finding it impossible to put the book down. It is an amazing example of how easily things can go wrong. He's such an ass and watching him make these mistakes for no reason really annoyed me.

The author's writing is great, fully drawing the reader into the Martin's mind with his first person pov. I love her writing style.

Lines on the Mirror is a great book. Although the author suggests that the books can be read in any order, I highly suggest reading book one first.
