Jumping into Ian Lewis' Mr Mouthful, I had no idea what to except. It absolutely impressed the hell out of me.
It's an amazing love story, full of fear and despair, and sacrifice. The writing is fantastic, as it alternates past and present to present us with an amazing story. This book took me through the ringer. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, and I feared. A lot.
Both men are great characters, developed well and extremely memorable. I love the brash attitude of Serge in the beginning, followed by his slow change as he gets to know Josh. His whole demeanor changed for the better, as love can do for a person.
At it's heart, this book is a beautiful reminder of how lucky we are to be healthy (or healthy enough) and to be able to grow old with someone who we deeply love. Don't take life for granted. And don't take love for granted.
I highly recommend Ian Lewis' Mr Mouthful. It's absolutely wonderful!
