Convincing Cole (Shore Thing #1) by Jaclyn Quinn

Cole Sullivan

Life's been pretty amazing. Moving back to my hometown of Coral Pointe Inlet and opening Shore Thing Management with my four best friends is the best decision I've ever made. Falling back into old habits with an ex? Not so much. When Aiden, the sexy, straight owner of SandBar comes to my rescue pretends to be my boyfriend—handing me the flashlight I need to make my way out of the darkness—lines begin to blur. Suddenly, I'm falling again, but is it stupid of me to want Aiden to land by my side?

Aiden Rafferty

I've made a name for myself in this town. Granted, sometimes it's passed around in a morsel of gossip over morning coffee. I've poured my heart and soul into SandBar, and despite some townspeople thinking I turned my back on the family business, it's become a tourist hotspot. I see and hear a lot as a bartender, but I never get involved—until Cole. There's something about him, something that makes me want to protect him. Problem is, he's been hurt before. This fake relationship was my
idea, so how do I go about convincing Cole there's nothing fake about it?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Convincing Cole is a riveting friends to lovers romance. The first book in the Shore Thing series, I am loving this Jaclyn Quinn created small town setting.

Everything about this book is just sweet. It starts with an entertaining hotel/inn guest and just gets better from there.

Aiden's divorced from Sasha, back in his small town. Cole, meanwhile, catches his boyfriend cheating on him. And wow, said boyfriend makes me so angry, as he not only cheated, but also cut him down over and over.

I enjoy that's Aiden starts the fake boyfriend rouse, despite having always been straight. I like the way everything develops between these two, with a fake relationship deepening their friendship. And, oh, one just has to love when fake feelings turn real. I can never resist that.

I appreciate the way Cole's self esteem is helped out with Aiden's help. I always enjoy when that happens, as sometimes support and encouragement is just what one needs.

Damn, I enjoy these two together. I like their friendship, I enjoy their connection, and I freaking love the sex scenes.

The perfect mix of friends to lovers, small town, and fake relationship. The sexual awakening theme is there, but isn't a huge deal. And if you enjoy big groups of friends, you will love this series that revolves around five best friends.

I love this quote. "You can't change someone to fit your expectations." I am working on this with my child everyday. So poignant.

Convincing Cole is a great read. This Jaclyn Quinn read is sweet from start to finish, with plenty of heart and heat in between. I can't wait to see what comes next for this group of friends.
