Kept in the Dark (Locke and Keyes Agency #1) by Charlie Cochet

Blurb

Former Army Ranger turned government assassin Álvaro Montero and CIA Officer Caiden Cardosa crossed paths two years ago in Vienna, where their encounter ended less than amicably—despite the explosive sexual chemistry between them.

Now Caiden is riding a desk at Langley after his cover is blown. And Álvaro—who was “killed”—has a new identity and purpose as Delta/D, an operative for the Locke and Keyes Agency, under the leadership of the mysterious Alpha Orion.

When D and Caiden team up in a deadly black ops mission, the urge to kill each other will have to take a back seat to the desire for revenge against the man who betrayed them both. Surviving the mission won’t be easy. Resisting the passion between them—that might be impossible.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Shockingly, Kept in the Dark is my first novel by Charlie Cochet. Crazy, right?
So, going into this much anticipated book with no knowledge of what to expect, I was definitely pleasantly surprised.

D and Caiden make for an interesting couple. The animosity between them is large, the bad feelings high, and the chemistry explosive. Two years ago they had a hook-up, and the bad blood between them is as potent as ever.

The author is fantastic with her combination of danger, action, humor, and romance. She definitely excels in the art of subtle humor, which makes for a great read.

As the author is a star in her genre, I am not surprised to find the writing crisp and sharp, with great characters and a fun storyline.

Kept in the Dark has definitely left me impressed, and I look forward to reading Charlie Cochet's next book in the Locke and Keyes Agency series.
