Kaden is a fun addition to the Boyfriend For Hire series by RJ Scott and Meredith Russell.
Kaden meets Ryan when he's hired to be his fake boyfriend. Ryan's an actor who's trying to redeem himself for some past mistakes. Hiring a fake boyfriend will add stability and relatability to his image. These two don't get off to a great start, but in a fun development, the lines start to blur.
Luckily for the readers, this is much more than just a fake relationship story. It's a story of abuse, and the ongoing cycle of abuse. It's a story of support, understanding, and recovery. And it's ultimately a story of survival and healing. And, most of all, it's all written with understanding and compassion.
Kaden and Ryan's slow burn romance also includes a sinister ex who works to add some good angst to this otherwise sweet tale. There's also abuse, anxiety, and depression that all add more serious underlying tones.
No surprise with this writing duo, the writing is wonderful, with likeable characters, and a great flow. I loved every moment of it.
Kaden is a delightful pretend boyfriend romance. If you like actors and fake relationships like I do, don't miss this one. RJ Scott and Meredith Russell don't disappoint in this slow burn romance.
