How to Catch a Rival (Chester Falls #2) by Ana Ashley

When you’re competing, the last thing you should do is fall in love...especially with your rival.

Wren turned up out of nowhere and now he’s my boss...kind of. He’s also a straight, closed-off, emotionless icicle. Who cares if he’s also drop dead gorgeous, with eyes you could get lost in?

Tom is beautiful, colorful, strong, creative, and my eyes can’t stop following him everywhere he goes. He also works for my parents, which means he’s off limits. That, and I haven’t told them that I’m bi yet.

A baking competition with high stakes
Two men who both need that prize money

When the heat moves from the kitchen to the bedroom, will Tom and Wren put their rivalry aside? Or is what they stand to lose more important than their growing feelings?

Welcome to Chester Falls, where you can expect to meet sweet men, sexy situations, interfering friends, lots of feels, and a happy ever after.

Book two in the Chester Falls series. How To Catch a Rival is a standalone sweet and steamy MM romance novel with no cliffhanger, and a guaranteed HEA.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

How to Catch a Rival is a cute and sweet small town romance. The second book in the Chester Falls series, it's easily read as a standalone.

Wren's a sympathetic character. A former professional athlete who's closeted. He returns home when his father is sick but no one there knows he's gay or retired from sports. Awww, secrets.
bisexual

Everything about this story is just cute.

They go off to a rough start but soon the walls come down between them. They end up competing against one another in the town's Pride baking contest.

The initial meeting between the men is simply fabulous. Tom just can't resist embarrassing himself with his attraction to Wren. It's funny, charming, and just sets the tone for these men.

Tom wants to be in fashion, but is instead working to help his parents. I definitely enjoy this element.

The rivalry is tough for the reader, as there's no clear cut person to root for in the competition. Both men need to win. It's a no win situation.

The writing is great, with a sooth flow, intriguing characters, and an entertaining storyline. Written in alternating first person pov, I easily enjoy getting to know both men.

How to Catch a Rival is a great mix of small town fun and a slow burn romance. Be sure to check out this Ana Ashley book the next time you're in the mood for rivals falling in love. Now onto the next book in the series.
