This series is a must read for sports fans. Hockey! The fun all started in Changing Lines and continues in this tale.
Layton's new in town, hired to help handle the publicity around Ten's coming out. He had no plans on finding love for himself. And then he meet Adler.
Their attraction is instant and the two men can't stop dreaming on the other. But they are so awkward. Both are drooling over the other, but they don't know how to talk to each other. It's delightfully fun.
Adler is one hell of a memorable character. He says what's he's thinking and gets himself into a lot of trouble for it. Let's just say the man needs a filter! As well, he's rich and comes from a rich family, but he thinks nothing of his wealth.
Meanwhile, Layton's a complex character who looks like he's got his act together, but underneath he's still drowning from some pain in his past.
Everything about this story works for me. First, there's the humor, with ongoing moments that warm my heart and make me chuckle. Hell, Layton's meeting with Vic still has me in stitches. And Adler's bluntness kept me laughing throughout.
Then there's the romance. The attraction between Layton and Adler is fabulous, and their chemistry is awesome. They make a great couple.
The writing is fabulous and we get plenty of appearances from other characters, including the loveable Mads and Ten. With each book, we get new romances, and further depth of their teammates. It's a fantastic series!
First Season is a fantastic sports romance. I love every moment of this RJ Scott and VL Locey read. With each book, this series just gets better and better. I am excited to go and re-read all these wonderful books again.
