Mr Uptight is a fabulous brother in law romance by Felice Stevens. I couldn't put it down.
The two start off this story with a drunken hookup and then by butting heads. Their history wouldn't have it any other way. But, everything changes when Jude hires Mason to be his new assistant.
I love this story and all the depth involved with both men. Both are at a crossroads in life. Both men are setting the tone for what they want for their future. And neither man can keep their hands off the other.
Mason's home again, trying to find a job and a home, after living away for years. His past is full of irresponsible and immature decisions, as he's always been a free spirit. But he's changed. And he is set of proving it. Good god, I love this element, as it's so tough to prove you've matured. I also adore the way he has no regrets for his past though, as he was young and without responsibilities at the time.
Meanwhile, Jude has spent his life focused on caring for his sister. He doesn't even know who he is with her now married. Trying to change one's whole daily purpose isn't easy and Jude is definitely struggling to let go.
I enjoy every moment of this story. The way the two come together, slowly starting to connect outside of the bedroom, is wonderful. They're complete opposites but they definitely work so damn well as a couple. It's awesome seeing the personable and outgoing Mason contrast with the uptight, serious Jude. I absolutely love the way both men encourage the other, helping them to figure out how to be the person they want to be now.
As we've come to expect from Felice's books, the characters are wonderfully multi-layered and their story is full of character growth and a whole lot of emotion. I have long loved the way Felice develops her stories, keeping her readers invested throughout. Oh, and yes, the sex is hot!
Mr Uptight is a fabulous read. Don't miss this Felice Stevens gem. It's a perfect combination of sweet and sexy. And it's a beautiful reminder to not judge someone by their past or their appearance. And, oh god, I love it all.
