Always (Single Dads #4) by R.J. Scott

Lives change in an instant, but with family found and forever love, there is always hope.

Impetuously putting his life on the line, Adam saved a child trapped in a car wreck and suffered career-ending injuries. Living with chronic pain, and at his lowest moments, he had friends who wouldn't let him give up, a family who had his back, and even though his future was different from what he'd always planned, he at least had hope. When Cameron and Finn land on his doorstep, he never dreamed that he would fall in love with the small family or that maybe he'd get to be a hero again.

Cameron goes from being a devoted husband to a single dad overnight. With his neatly planned future in ruins, he will do anything to make a new life for his son, even if it means moving to the other side of the country. Renting a room from Adam is the first step in making a home for him and Finn, but falling for the former firefighter was never part of the plan.

The shadows from Cameron's past might take a long time to touch this fragile future, but will he have to face the consequences alone when they do? Or will there always be hope?

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Always is a beautiful romance by RJ Scott. The fourth book in the Single Dads series, it's every bit as wonderful as the previous books.

One can't help but to fall in love with Adam. His scars and injuries are daily reminders of his lost career. But it's also a reminder that he's a hero. His injuries and chronic pain are well illustrated and add greatly to the storyline.

Cam meanwhile is on the run, sort of. People are connecting him to his ex husband's crimes, and he's trying to get him and his son away from the mess.

Both men are broken and struggling with what their new lives look like. Both have suffered and are wondering how to heal and move forward. In meeting each other, they get their answers.

I love the connection between the men. Both the way it starts and the way it develops. They are perfect together with a great connection and even better dynamics.

I love the writing style, the characters, and their storyline. Add in the presence of the previous characters, and it's ever better. And oh man, I love Adam's family!

Always is a wonderful hurt/comfort romance. This RJ Scott tale is everything I love about RJ's books. Basically she can do no wrong.
