Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Ana Ashley's How to Catch a Prince is a fun fake boyfriend romance.

Kris is a prince who's famous and often in the tabloids. Following some negative press, he's sent to America to get away for a bit. Meanwhile, Charlie is off to his sister's wedding, which is awkward as his closeted ex will be there. But, low and behold, Kris and Charlie meet.

Kris is cute, fun, and lovable from the start. Charlie's a sympathetic character who gets to know Kris well before ever discovering that he's a prince.

I adore that Charlie's an artist and the way he describes his passion. Even better, is the way Kris supports him and his passion. "It matters Charlie...Your dreams matter. You matter." Wow, total swoon moment.

I appreciate that the author explores some of the downfalls of being royalty, or famous in any way. Even better, I appreciate that Kris is not the next one in line, but rather his sister is.

Their meet-que is wonderful, but my favorite moment is when Kris knows he's fallen for Charlie. "...there was no way I'd burden Charlie with the knowledge that I had without a shadow of a doubt fallen for him." Omg, this is when I knew I had truly fallen in love with Kris myself.

Their story is told in alternating first person pov, expertly drawing the reader into the emotions and worlds of both characters. The writing is great, with a solid story and a good pace. The characters are well developed, including some of the important side characters.

Their story includes an eventful family wedding get-away, a closeted ex who won't take no for an answer, and some small town fun. There's humor and sweetness, as these two men naturally connect and fall in love.

How to Catch a Prince is perfect when you're in the mood for something light hearted with a dream-like quality. It's like a charming Hallmark movie. The story's romantic and dreamy, perfectly capturing that fairytale feel. And best of all, it's the start of a series, leaving me excited for more from this small town.

TEASER

From Charlie’s POV
I looked for my suitcase and noticed it was still in the hallway and the apartment door was open. God, I really needed a good night's sleep.
Everything happened too quickly. One moment I was reaching out for the suitcase, the next, something pulled my arm and I found myself being dragged down.
I closed my eyes, bracing myself for impact. I let out a curse when my forearm dragged against something sharp, and then opened my eyes when the landing was softer than I expected.
Dark brown eyes, so dark they were almost black, stared back at me. Warmth and a sense of rightness flooded my chest as I took in the face of the stranger, his defined jaw, perfect nose, five o'clock shadow, and those eyes.
I scrambled up, trying to get away from the man, but ended up kneeing him in the groin. The guy let out a harsh groan and folded in on himself on the floor.
"Oh shit, crap, oh god. I'm so sorry." For the love of God, Charlie. I was horrified. The guy squirmed on the floor for a few minutes, taking deep breaths, before he was able to get up.
"Do you go around kicking everybody in the balls?" He coughed.
"No, only guys who tackle me to the floor," I answered without missing a beat.
The guy laughed. "You could have bought me dinner first."
My tummy rumbled at the mention of dinner, and the guy laughed again.
"You keep laughing at me, I'll show you my other karate kicks," I teased.
"Sounds like you need dinner."
"Sounds like you're offering to buy."
