Kel's Keeper by K.C. Wells

Blurb

When Kel Taylor’s life changes irrevocably, he finds himself alone in the world. He might have rebelled a little against his parents, but that didn’t mean he was ready to lose them. Unable to cope with his grief and feelings of guilt, he turns to booze, but before he hits rock bottom, someone dives into the murky waters to save him.

Luc Bryant watched Kel grow from the little kid whose football broke a pane in his greenhouse, into the sexy young man who sent heat racing through him. That was when Luc stopped watching and distanced himself, because he didn’t want to be that kind of a man. And that’s how things continued, until he saw to what depths the boy had sunk. Luc will be damned if he’ll let Kel kill himself. What Kel needs is a friend, and Luc’s shoulders are plenty big enough to bear his burdens.

Kel doesn’t need a friend. He needs a pair of strong arms to hold him, a broad chest to curl up against, someone to listen to him, someone who cares for him… and a whole lot more.
What he needs is a Daddy.
He just doesn’t know it yet.

A stand-alone book that contains an age gap relationship between a sexy daddy and a virgin.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Kel's Keeper is an superb story by KC Wells.

A surprise visit home when his parents away, Kel spends time working for his neighbor, Luke. Suddenly Luke is there to pick up the pieces after a tragic event. Despite his parents being gone, Kel is left with the effects of their controlling, religious ways.

This story is less about the downward spiral of Kel and more about the change and development of their relationship. The blurb had me expecting more of Kel's pain. I was pleasantly surprised that that wasn't the case.

At it's heart, this story is a May/December romance, with Luke being more than twice Kel's age. Heck, Luke knew Kel as a baby. A natural development between them, with Luke helping Kel deal with his grief and pain, ends up leading to more. Not only do they discover their mutual attraction for each other, they also find out how compatible they are in the bedroom.

The author excels in developing this amazing story of Kel's journey towards love and growth. Having been extremely sheltered by his parents, Kel is able to learn about the world, his desires, and his needs, from the older Luke. I love the slow transition for the men, and the tender care Luke shows towards Kel.

I definitely enjoy the religious aspect of this book. Although some don't like any books to discuss religious views, I found this to be accurate and necessary for Kel's development.

The writing is fantastic and smooth, with two lovable characters. I absolutely love this story. If you enjoy the emotional side of a Daddy/boy relationship, this one is perfect for you. Rather than focusing on the D/s sex side of things, the author leans towards the progression of the relationship. It's wonderfully done.

Kel's Keeper is an absolutely beautiful coming of age type Daddy romance. It's a sweet, no-angst, slow burn romance, which I highly recommend.
