BLURB
“I’ve never thought of calling a man Daddy before, but I can’t think of a word that fits Vale better. He’s my Daddy, and I’m his pup.”
Broken and bruised, there’s nothing I won’t do to protect Adrian. I picked him up and made him whole before, and I’ll do it again. Adrian is a sweet pup with a smile full of sunshine and a heart made for love. A sweet pup needs a gentle hand, and that’s exactly what I intend to give him.
There’s nothing quite like slipping an expensive pair of high heels onto Adrian’s feet and watching him light up. If he wants a fairytale, I’ll happily be his Prince Charming.
*** Heel is the second book in the Working Out the Kinks series but can be read as a stand-alone. This book contains a scene of domestic violence. This book also contains an adorable man who loves to be a puppy, fabulous high heels, and the happily ever after Adrian deserves.

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!
It's no surprise that I love KM Neuhold's Heel. KM Neuhold and puppy play? Yes, please. And luckily, it was everything I was hoping it would be.
Their story contains horrific abuse, with Adrien is being abused when we first meet him. Luckily Vale, his former puppy trainer, is there as a supportive friend to help him.
Adrien and Vale have a long history, as Vale saved Adrien in the past. With a strong chemistry from the start, but Adrien being way too young, they never acted on their feelings. Not Adrien's older and being with him is less taboo, if Vale will let himself go there.
This is a beautiful story of finding a way to survive and overcome abuse. Adrien stayed too long in an bad, abusive relationship with a man who controlled everything he did, wore, etc. My heart hurts for him from the start. With his ex, Adrien had to repress some of his desires. With Vale he's able to explore everything he's ever wanted to do. Vale has long been Adrien's safe place. It's fun seeing them navigate their way through the changes in their relationship.
And in the beauty of a wonderful puppy play romance, the reader is fully able to feel the way being a puppy relaxes Adrian. It wonderfully explores puppy play, how it's soothing and comforting, allowing Adrien to get out of his head for a while. As well, there's an amazing scene where Adrien just wants to be held, that is as tender as can be.
The only thing that I found awkward was Adrien calling Vale "Daddy". That part just didn't work so much for me. It seemed out of place.
Heel is a long, but worthwhile journey towards real love and happiness for Adrien and Vale. It's a wonderful story of learning to be a better person, of finding someone to give you everything you could ever dream of and more.
And the epilogue is awesome!
