GRL 2019 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - Unbreak My Heart (Unbreak My Heart #1) by K-lee Klein

In my attempt to cover some of the attending authors for this year's GRL,
I am reviewing

K-lee Klein's
Unbreak My Heart!

BLURB

Brett Taylor has been doing just fine living in his little world of grief and pain for the past three years—thank you very much. Losing someone special is life changing, and Brett doesn't understand why everyone and their damn dog thinks they can get all up in his business about moving on. He's accepted his job going from musician to rancher without relying on anyone else's opinion, and he doesn't need some city kid coming into his life to break the habits he's been practicing—grief, isolation, and a whole lot of Jack Daniels.

JT Campbell was on a quest to escape his old life, and to figure out who he is and where he belonged as he moved from one meaningless job to the next. He wasn't looking to save anyone, let alone a secretive, hotter-than-hell rancher who wore his heart on his sleeve. He likes working for Brett, but it's been made perfectly clear that any relationship other than professional will never see the light of day.

But when JT's lust turns to love, and he gives in to his desire to find out what makes Brett tick, will his patience and support result in Brett lowering the walls he's built-up enough so JT can unbreak his heart?

REVIEW
My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Unbreak My Heart is a superb story of being stuck in the past. K-lee Klein does a fantastic job developing this story of moving on from the past and finding love again.

Brett's a broken man, full of grief and guilt, and drowning in a bottle. He's still mourning his ex, Walt, who died 3 years ago. Until JT. JT's a young man who gets hired on at the ranch by Brett's mother. You will love Brett's mother. She is feisty and adorable and just all around wonderful!

What follows is a beautiful story of two men who are each lost and longing for something. They connect quickly and seem to lift one another's burdens.  It's a story of finding a second chance at love. The development of their relationship is beautiful, and riveting.

The author explores the power of loss in one's life, i
ncluding the fear of moving on and letting go of a first love.

I love this story, the tone, the pace, and the author's tenderness in this tale of grabbing onto a second chance at love.
These men and their story just resonated with me. I fell in love with them and their romance.

Unbreak My Heart is a wonderfully emotional read. The first book in K-lee Klein's Unbreak My Heart series, I am intrigued and need to see what else happens in this series.

K-lee Klein

K-lee Klein loves guys with long hair and tattoos, and you’ll often find her front and center at her favorite rock concerts. She has bounced around Western Canada all her life, but will always consider the solitude and beauty of the British Columbian mountains home. Her life is blessed as the proud mother of three now-grown but still spoiled kids, the servant of two bossy felines, and the wife of a truly patient husband.

Her writing muse is terribly temperamental, so to keep him close by and in check, she had him inked on her left calf. The gorgeous, long-haired, mostly naked, kneeling angel that resulted is truly a work of art, although he’s still a handful and hopelessly uncontrollable. She writes on his schedule and inspiration.

K-lee tends to fall easily into obsessions. When something grabs her attention, she jumps into it headfirst with complete abandon. Actors, musicians, superheroes, fictional characters, and brainwashed assassins all hold spots on her cannot-get-enough list. She once followed Thirty Seconds to Mars around the United States and Canada and saw them perform fourteen times that year. Obsession sometimes leads to ideas for her kneeling angel to turn into stories.

Although an introvert in person, she’s extroverted online and has met many wonderful friends there, sometimes with the added fun of meeting them in person at gay romance conferences. She’s grateful for all the people in her life who accept her as she is and support her through her ups and downs as mom, wife, and joyfully obsessed writer.
