RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Line Mates & Study Dates (CU Hockey #4) by Eden Finley & Saxon James

Amazon Link - Available in KU

ASHER

Hockey, studying, and school runs. That’s my life now.

After a tragic accident that took our parents’ lives, it’s up to me and my big brother to take care of our five younger siblings.

In between burning their meals and keeping them from killing each other, I’m supposed to get a college degree. It’s hard when I don’t have time to breathe let alone study, and if I don’t get my grades up, I’m in danger of losing the one thing that makes me happy: my spot on the hockey team.

Which is why when the new equipment manager offers to tutor me, I really can’t afford to say no. Even though I should.

He’s Coach’s son and way too tempting.

KOLE

As this year’s equipment manager for Dad’s hockey team, I’m expected to deal with sweaty jock straps and herding hockey players to their rooms at away games.

The job is easy, but babysitting Asher Dalton is not supposed to be a part of it.

So why, when his brother asks me to keep an eye on him, do I agree?

Why, when he’s struggling in classes, do I offer to help?

And why, when we’re studying, do I suggest a reward system that lands us squarely in bed?

Asher's trouble, I know he is. But there's something about him that makes it impossible to stay away.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Line Mates and Study Dates is the fourth book in the CU Hockey series by Eden Finley and Saxon James. It's easily enjoyed as a standalone.

Oh man, I love this series and this book is a great addition to the fun.

I love college romances. But I really love college sports romances. And this series is fabulous! Everything about it works for me.

First, it's a coach's son romance. I am giddy! And the authors play this out so damn well.

Second, Asher! I am thrilled to get Asher's story.

These men are simply fantastic. Asher's a moody bastard, the bad boy of the team. As for Kole, he's way more than I could have ever expected.

I adore the way these two are brought together and the connection that develops between them. Their tutoring sessions are beyond hot and do a wonderful job of carrying the story.

Asher and Kole develop an intense connection, and I adore all the highs and lows of their relationship. But, damn, the way all the emotions develop between the two had me all in. Love these men!

The family aspect. Omg. So sad. So heartbreaking. And so damn emotional in general. Of course, there's a lot going on with all the siblings and all of it is great. Asher's backstory is something that brings him fully to life, and makes him totally loveable.

Line Mates and Study Dates is everything I could have asked for. I love it all. These authors have once again penned a magical read. I can't get enough of the emotional connection in this story.

Kel's Keeper by K.C. Wells

Blurb

When Kel Taylor’s life changes irrevocably, he finds himself alone in the world. He might have rebelled a little against his parents, but that didn’t mean he was ready to lose them. Unable to cope with his grief and feelings of guilt, he turns to booze, but before he hits rock bottom, someone dives into the murky waters to save him.

Luc Bryant watched Kel grow from the little kid whose football broke a pane in his greenhouse, into the sexy young man who sent heat racing through him. That was when Luc stopped watching and distanced himself, because he didn’t want to be that kind of a man. And that’s how things continued, until he saw to what depths the boy had sunk. Luc will be damned if he’ll let Kel kill himself. What Kel needs is a friend, and Luc’s shoulders are plenty big enough to bear his burdens.

Kel doesn’t need a friend. He needs a pair of strong arms to hold him, a broad chest to curl up against, someone to listen to him, someone who cares for him… and a whole lot more.
What he needs is a Daddy.
He just doesn’t know it yet.

A stand-alone book that contains an age gap relationship between a sexy daddy and a virgin.

Kel's Keeper is an superb story by KC Wells.

A surprise visit home when his parents away, Kel spends time working for his neighbor, Luke. Suddenly Luke is there to pick up the pieces after a tragic event. Despite his parents being gone, Kel is left with the effects of their controlling, religious ways.

This story is less about the downward spiral of Kel and more about the change and development of their relationship. The blurb had me expecting more of Kel's pain. I was pleasantly surprised that that wasn't the case.

At it's heart, this story is a May/December romance, with Luke being more than twice Kel's age. Heck, Luke knew Kel as a baby. A natural development between them, with Luke helping Kel deal with his grief and pain, ends up leading to more. Not only do they discover their mutual attraction for each other, they also find out how compatible they are in the bedroom.

The author excels in developing this amazing story of Kel's journey towards love and growth. Having been extremely sheltered by his parents, Kel is able to learn about the world, his desires, and his needs, from the older Luke. I love the slow transition for the men, and the tender care Luke shows towards Kel.

I definitely enjoy the religious aspect of this book. Although some don't like any books to discuss religious views, I found this to be accurate and necessary for Kel's development.

The writing is fantastic and smooth, with two lovable characters. I absolutely love this story. If you enjoy the emotional side of a Daddy/boy relationship, this one is perfect for you. Rather than focusing on the D/s sex side of things, the author leans towards the progression of the relationship. It's wonderfully done.

Kel's Keeper is an absolutely beautiful coming of age type Daddy romance. It's a sweet, no-angst, slow burn romance, which I highly recommend.

GRL 2018 SPOTLIGHT - TM Smith - Survivor

In my attempt to cover some of the attending authors for this year's GRL,
I am reviewing

TM Smith's Survivor!

BLURB

Taylor Langford’s world is torn apart when he is only thirteen years old—his parents killed, leaving him alone and orphaned. With no living relatives, he’d certainly be another statistic if not for the intervention of the policeman who found Taylor in the crawl space where his mother hid him that fateful night. Despite the tragedy and resulting anguish in his life, Taylor knows how lucky he is.

Frank Moore is a rookie with the Dallas Police Department when he and his partner answer a call in Devonshire, one of the city’s more affluent neighborhoods. They think the young boy in various pictures throughout the home has been kidnapped until they find him, shaken but alive. Officer Moore recognizes the pain in the kid’s eyes, having lost his own mother to cancer when he was just a boy. He steps in, making sure Taylor is placed with a loving foster family. Over the years, Frank becomes a permanent fixture in Taylor’s life.

A decade later, the case remains unsolved and the once gangly, uncertain teenager is now a college graduate who knows exactly what he wants. He’s coming home to the man that helped mold and shape his life, the man he’s loved for as long as he can remember, Frank Moore. But Taylor isn’t the only person returning to Dallas, and while Frank is distracted by his own conflicting feelings and the new bond growing between the two, the past creeps up on them, determined to finish what was started ten years earlier.

A note from the author…

I hope you enjoy Frank and Taylor’s story. It’s been a long road to get them settled, but I’m happy with where this story has taken them. When I started this book, the intent was to write a stand-alone story, but that has changed. Characters continually evolve throughout the writing process, and there are several characters in the book that want to tell their story. I’ve grown especially fond of Rory and I can’t wait to write his book, which will take us back to when he first joined the Bureau, and continue on to his happy ever after.

Please be advised: This is a May/December romance, and as in life, there are sexual situations that take place prior to the main characters finding their way to one another. This is not gratuitous; it is meant to show character growth and self-realization. There is absolutely no cheating.

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

As soon as I started reading Survivor, by TM Smith, I knew I would love it as much as I have all her other books.

In this gem, we get to follow Taylor and Frank, from the day that Frank found Taylor hiding from his intended murderer. Frank saves Taylor, placing him with a wonderful foster family, and the two formed an immediate bond.

As the years pass, their bond grows stronger, and Taylor matures into a stunning young man, one who's attracted to his savior. And Frank has noticed Taylor's stunning new body and returns the attraction. Their attraction is well handled, as Frank is both terrified and mesmerized with Taylor. He feels it's wrong to feel this way about the young man who he's watched grow up, but his feelings are real.

Taylor is one of those characters who you just fall in love with instantly. He has survived hell, and bounced back to be a wonderful, kind and loving young man. Of course, this is all due to Frank's influences over the years, and Taylor is aware of this.

From the day they met, their connection was strong, and watching it grow stronger over the years is fun and fantastic. By the time they get together, their ten year age gap is nothing, as they truly belong together. They have heat, passion and a strong intensity to their relationship. One thing I love in particular, is that the younger Taylor is the forceful one who takes charge in their relationship. Such a fun change of pace!

Their story contains some great side characters, including Taylor's adopted parents, Charles and Valerie, who are so refreshing, light hearted and funny. Not only did they take him in when he needed a home, they provided him with a strong circle of friends and family, they loved him and supported him. They gave Taylor a great life and would do anything for him.

If you haven't read Survivor, read it now! And if you've missed TM Smith's other books, please do yourself a favor and binge on them now. She is a fantastic writer and excels in this genre.
