Milo (Finding Home #2) by Lily Morton

Blurb

Once upon a time a brave knight rescued a young man. Unfortunately, he then spent the next few years bossing the young man around and treating him like a child.

Milo has been burying himself at Chi an Mor, hiding from the wreckage of his once promising career and running from a bad relationship that destroyed what little confidence he had. For all of that time, Niall has been there for him. An arrogant and funny man, he couldn’t be any more different from the shy and once stuttery Milo, which has never stopped Milo from crushing wildly on him.

However, just as Milo makes the decision to move on from his hopeless crush he and Niall are thrown into close contact, and for the first time ever Niall appears to be returning his interest. But it can never work. How can it when Milo always needs rescuing?

From the bestselling author of the Mixed Messages series comes a story about a man who needs to write his own happily ever after.

This is the second book in the Finding Home series but it can be read as a standalone.

Review
My Rating - 5 Stars!

Damn! I love Milo. From the beginning, I was sucked into every thought, emotion, and moment of this amazing book. As usual, Lily Morton manages to stun me with an accomplished and thrilling tale.

Milo is about so much more than any of it's individual tropes. There's best friend's brother, there's friends to lovers, there's a savior and protector aspect, and there's a whole lot of problems between the brothers. It's complex, stunning, and riveting.

Milo's abuse is tough to read at times, as the results are long-lasting and still affecting him. Niall's supportive and is exactly what Milo needs in his life. I love the way Milo and Niall are together. Their story is full of sadness, but the banter between the two men is awesome.

Their story is wonderfully written. The character development is great, the flow and pace are perfect, and the storyline is exquisite. It's a beautiful exploration of the difference between having sex and making love; the difference between having a partner versus a hookup. It's a wonderful example of the fact that handing over power to someone doesn't make you weak, or put you in danger. It's a stunning and impressive story of friendship, trust, love, and brotherhood; of seeing each other and seeing the truth of one's feelings.

There's some sweet moments and some funny moments. I absolutely adore Molly, and the fighting sisters is a riot.

Milo's a phenomenal tale that will take you on an emotional rollercoaster, as you'll laugh, cry, and everything in between. Thank you Lily Morton for this amazing read!
