Omega Chattel (The Omega Misfits #5) by Wendy Rathbone

At Zilly’s Chattel Farm, Alli is seen as an upstart Omega. But in reality, he is the victim of a brutal house-dad who wants to control him. Threatened with being institutionalized when he turns eighteen, Alli runs away.

Tarin is an Alpha who runs a small school from his own home for wayward Omegas. Three or four students at a time are all he can handle and his home is full. But when he meets Alli on the streets, he is compelled to bring him home.

Alli wants a better future for himself, better than selling himself on the streets, so he agrees to be a student, when what he really wants is Tarin himself. Tarin doesn’t sleep with his Omega students, and the one exception he made broke his heart.

But Alli is persistent. And not only does Tarin have a weakness for broken young men, there seems to be a spontaneous bond forming between them. The combination is turning hotter faster than they can keep up.

Non-shifter omegaverse, fated mates, age gap, virgin, knotting/bonding, high steam, HEA.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Omega Chattel, the fifth book in The Omega Misfits series, is a delightful omegaverse read.

This is a wonderful read, as Alli escapes the omega chattel and is searching for safety outside. Meeting Tarin sets his life off on a new path.

Alli's past is well established, with the pain and suffering he saw and experienced. Tarin's past is also well explored, as he is a savior who likes to help omegas who need his help.

This one is a little different than the typical fated mates read. This isn't that instant "My Fated Mate!" moment. Rather, the smell of one another is part of what attracts them. But, these two connect when Tarin helps Alli, and eventually they realize they're fated mates. It's definitely a more realistic take on the aspect, despite nothing being realistic about Omegaverse stories. 🤣

There's plenty of emotion, as Tarin has been "in love" with a different omega. But, damn, these two are meant to be and are great together. Their story has a lot of heat once they make a move.

I continue to enjoy the author's writing style. Written in alternating 1st person pov, the reader follows the main characters feelings and motivations throughout. The world building continues to be an important part of this series, and the author does a great job with adding to this world each book.

Omega Chattel is an enjoyable read. This whole Wendy Rathbone series is definitely recommended to any fans of non-shifter omegaverse romances.
