Damn! At A Stranger's Mercy is completely different from Brittany Cournoyer's normal style. It's gruesome and gritty, and it's phenomenal. The first book in her Badge and Bullets series, I can't wait to see what else she comes up with next.
I need to start with this cover, as holy hotness, it is incredible!
I love Max and Bradley together, as their relationship begins with a murder and they fall in love through this thriller. They struggle as they try to survive, try to protect, and try to solve a murder spree.
This book is a fantastic mystery, keeping you on the edge of your seat, guessing throughout. It has a superb plot, great development, and amazing flow. The writing is intense, as I heard every sound, saw every creepy thing and wanted to keep looking over my shoulder. Brittany Cournoyer expertly draws the reader in and won't let them stop reading until they finish.
As a new style for her, she is extremely accomplished with her execution. A strong suspense novel, it has excellent characters, and a mystery that will keep you riveted throughout. I for one, am thrilled Brittany Cournoyer decided to leap in this new genre, while maintaining her amazing romance skills. I can't wait for the next book in their story.
