Worship, part one of Ella James' On My Knees Duet series, is an enticing and addicting forbidden romance.
Heavy on the sex scenes, these two ooze sexual connection. They start with a hookup that's an amazing sexual experience. They are hot and heavy, but later are weighed down by complications and mystery. Honestly, the beginning scenes aren't what grabbed me. But once they are separated, I couldn't put it down.
Vance and Luke are such opposites, but both lonely in their own way. One is a womanizer, working his way through as many hookups as he can. The other is a preacher who's trapped in a life of carrying on his family legacy. Yes, if you hate religious stories of any nature, this one is not for you.
Cue the feelings. My heart breaks that they can't be together. Their story is one of intense chemistry and want. It's a story of longing and desire. It's a story of heartbreak and patience. If you enjoy stories of closeted men, who are pressured to live a life different than they desire, this book is for you!
There are definitely different aspects to this book. The first part is loaded with sex scenes, while the second half contains all the emotions. This is a story that spans some time and left me gutted throughout.
Worship is riveting and captivating. Ella James hooked me with these men and I can't wait to dive into the next book to see what happens.
