Steam by HJ Welch

Trent, a former member of a boy band, is now a Hollywood Action Star.  He is getting in trouble often though, so he is sent away for a few months.  He needs to get ahold of himself and unwind.  So he goes back to his home, which happens to be a vacation resort in Wyoming.

A run-down vacation resort, that is.

The same resort that Ashby ends up at after leaving his cheating boyfriend behind in England.  Ashby just wants to get away and have a little break from his life.

Trent and Ashby have an attraction between them, despite the fact that they are complete opposites. Trent is the Hollywood Action Star.  And he's straight. Ashby is smaller, effeminate and a trust fund socialite.  He is sweet and fun, but he lacks confidence right now.

The two have a weird meeting and a rough start.  But they do become friends.  And it is all very sweet. As their friendship blossoms, Trent struggles with his attraction to Ashby.  After all, how can he be attracted to a guy?

The way in which Trent is so very open to his attraction to Ashby is just so very real and honest.  Their relationship is sweet, and the sexual side of their relationship is hot!
In one conversation, they discuss how Ashby is non-binary and how Trent is most likely bi-sexual, both of which are in the middle of their respective spectrums.  I loved how Trent talks about their middles meeting somewhere along the line.

The former members of Trent's boy band all make appearances.  This is the 1st book in the series that I have read, but I am going back to read about the other boys now.

Another character in the book is the resort itself, as well as some of the resort staff.   Trent has been on the outs with his dad, who works there, for a while.  They will need to actually try to communicate if they want a relationship again.

And, don't forget the bad guy who has it out for Trent.

The characters are well developed.  The storyline is well done, with dashes of humor, sweet moments and hot sex.  The two characters end up being so perfect for each other.  Personally, I loved Ashby.  I loved how real he was and how he was able to accept himself.

I definitely enjoyed this book and look forward to reading the past books in the series, as well as any future books in it.
