Love of the Game by Phetra H Novak

Amazon

This book was a HUGE surprise for me.
The cover threw me a lot.  I would have expected a horror story from the cover.

But this book certainly is an example of Do Not Judge A Book By It's Cover.

Charlie and Hannes met in a Paris airport.   After a quick hook-up, Charlie flees.

Fast forward a few months, and their paths cross again in Montreal.

From there, we are taken down a path of Hannes trying to help Charlie get over his tragic past.

Charlie's character has been abused.  Charlie wants to be submissive, but his former Dom was not loving and kind.  His former Dom damaged Charlie, both physically and mentally. Charlie had wanted to be loved.  And he was in too deep before he realized that his Dom was more bad than good.

Hannes wants to help Charlie.  He knows what Charlie really needs and wants to help give it to him.

Again, I was totally surprised by this book.  The character development was done well.   The two main characters were both completely likeable.  And the side characters were caring, fun and a great addition.

The only bad part about this book for me was that there is no book for the side characters YET.??  I am desperately hoping to read at least a few more books about these men.
