Wow. Escaping Camp Roosevelt is so much more than I ever expected. Emotional and heart-breaking, Bryan T Clark grabbed my heart immediately with this amazing tale of forgiveness and moving forward. 

A story of two homeless teens, with one who's caring for his sister, the author excels in his exploration of the struggle of being homeless. The isolation, the loneliness, the desire to trust no one, and the desire to remain alone. The hardships, the fear, the inability to get ahead in life.

Tucker and Dancer are two young men who I just want to hug and help. One's a victim of his mother's meth habit, the other a runaway after suffering sexual abuse. Both of their backstories are soul crushing. In addition, the author does a wonderful job of demonstrating the common need of homeless teens to become sex workers, as a way to just survive.

Tucker's seizures were a tough read for me, as I was heartbroken for the way he developed them, and his inability to get proper care for them.

Their story is one of getting to know someone and learning to trust them. The  attraction is strong, but they have many complications to overcome. It's a story of making amends, making tough decisions, and fighting for love. It's about overcoming one's past, letting go of fear, and finding the strength to love. 

Escaping Camp Roosevelt is a superb story, full of all the feels, and will leave the reader falling in love with these two men. Bryan T Clark's tale of letting oneself live again is writing beautifully, both compelling and riveting. A tough, raw read, it has a happy ending.

CS Joyce's The Heart Dealer is a fun May to December romance, as well as a beautiful tale of unexpected love.

Wow, I love Charlie and Alex. Both man bring plenty of past pain to the relationship. Not only are the men in different times in their lives with their age difference, but they also have financial differences. They certainly don't belong together according to society, they damn, they are great together. This part is so wonderfully developed and explored. 

Their romance is an insta-love story, so skip this one if that's not your thing. It's also a story of pain and loss, with Alex struggling to allow Charlie into his life. A previous loss has left him broken and unable to move forward. This is a story of allowing oneself a second chance at love and facing one's fears. It's inspiring as Charlie makes Alex feel again, and gives everything meaning.

As for the title, I find it fun, as it's a cute play on words, as Alex is an art dealer.

The Heart Dealer is definitely a good read. CS Joyce's writing is entertaining, nurturing, and tender. This slow burn romance took me on a memorable emotional journey.

Dustin Lance Black's Mama's Boy: A Story from Our Americas is an absolutely superb memoir.

To say that Lance's mom was a bad ass superhero is an understatement. Her life, strength, and determination were all remarkable. I am in awe of her! Lance wonderfully demonstrates his mother's courage and strength, while also digging into the flaws of the Mormon church.

As a former Mormon, Lance of course delves into his experiences with the church. This part is so damn tough to read at times. As many gay ex-Mormons have said, the Mormon church suffocates it's LGBT youth. It's devastating to read yet another example of the pain and suffering a kid had to endure in the name of religion. My heart breaks for young Lance, who at the age of 6, knew his growing feelings for boys were wrong.

Lance holds no bars with his retelling of the abuse he and his family endured. And I was shocked to learn about the Mormon church's issues with law enforcement. It is abhorrent, and morally vile. I already felt so much hate for the Mormon church, but this definitely added to my anger. 

As I've sensed from following Lance and his speeches, family is definitely everything for him, when he was young and now as a husband and father. This book expertly explores his connection with his family. 

What makes this story so special is the fact that Lance's life is full of interesting experiences, both good and bad. But what makes it accomplished is the manner in which he develops this book. A natural storyteller, he finds the perfect pace, the perfect words, and the perfect flow for telling his life story. 

Lance's past is full of physical pain, and a whole lot of self hatred. There are many tough moments, suicidal thoughts, and just trying to survive life when he thought himself to be a demon.

If you are a fan of Lance and have followed his speeches, some are things you will already know. But there are plenty of other things that are new to his most steadfast of fans. 

A couple of special things I take away from this book are personal to Lance and his mom. The cover photo represents an important moment in their lives and relationship. And, to learn that both mother and son fell in love with a much younger man just seems so special to me. 

Mama's Boy: A Story from Our Americas is a beautiful, touching memoir. It's a tale of abuse, fear, and danger. However, at it's heart it's a story of courage and strength, full of hope and love. I highly recommend this book to everyone!

Angel, the third book in the Fallen Angel trilogy by Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine, is the perfect culmination of this fantastic journey of Halo and Viper.

Halo and Viper are a couple now, but are left struggling to find their way. It's not easy to be famous and come out as gay. 

But, damn, they're one hell of a couple. Viper loves fiercely and will do anything to protect his Angel. I love the way these two men affect each other. It's fantastic the way Halo changes Viper for the better. And I love the way Viper wants to do so much for Halo, as his love for Halo is intense, all consuming, and passionate. Their story is one of love, lust, and arousal.

One memorable scenes is Viper's gift to Halo, as it's amazing and brings out all the feels. Of course, my favorite moment is a certain on stage scene. I certainly don't want to give anything away, but I love this scene.

The authors excel at writing the issues faced by famous rockers; the public, homophobia, and the paparazzi. Being public keeps one's life from being their own, and this is well demonstrated. 

I absolutely love the Fallen Angel series. Ella Frank and Brooke Blaine shine with this series, with Angel being the perfect pinnacle for Halo and Angel's story!

Flipped is another fantastic story by K Sterling. As I've come to expect from this author, the pace is fast, the action is unending, and the romance is sweet.

Roan and Sherman are both fun characters, and together they are sure to keep the reader entertained. Their romance is full of non-stop action, humor and a whole lot of heart, while they deal with danger, secrets, murder, and more. Overall, it's a great story of learning to live again, of finding joy in life.

The way they meet is fun, their attraction is hot, and I just love a silver daddy finding a man with a Daddy fetish. I love the redemption of the bad guy in which the author excels. And damn, I just connect perfectly with the authors sense of humor.

Flipped is fun, riveting, and downright fantastic. K Sterling expertly entwines a kick-ass action tale with a wonderful romance. If you haven't read anything from this author yet, I highly suggest you do soon!

Gotta Catch Her is a fun lesbian romance by Kelly Haworth.

Their romance depicts the struggles of juggling time together and making time for oneself. It's about finding someone who gives you confidence, as well as happiness. It's a reminder to grab happiness whenever possible. There are some great spicy scenes are these two women learn about making sacrifices. 

As the job discussed is about creating a phone game similar to Pokémon Go, I didn't really care about those details. 

Gotta Catch Her's short and sweet and perfect for a quick easy read. Kelly Haworth manages to entertain while giving us this story hope and resilance.

Why did Ani-min Move have to launch new features on a weekday? The last thing I wanted to do when I got home from the office was immediately drag my ass back outdoors.

“I’m tired, Franny,” I said, putting my feet onto the coffee table, relieved to have them out of the little heels that were the curse of business casual. Frances cocked her head at me, her fluffy ears going askew. “But it looks like they’re launching legendary raids, and I am not missing that.”

After starting the update to my Ani-min Move app, I put down my phone while the update installed. Franny lowered her head to her paws and whined.

“I know, I know. A walk would be better than the apartment’s dog yard.”

Who knew eight hours at a desk would be so exhausting? But doing the same thing every day really grated on a person. Make sure this client has their order placed correctly. Keep that project running on time. Figure out why supplies are delayed. So much communication, so much organization, so much waiting.

I ran my fingers through my brunette hair, scratching my scalp and enjoying the ten seconds of silence.

At least, until Franny barked.

“Okay, honey. Let me get out of these slacks.”

I pushed myself to my feet and strode across the living room, wincing at the tumbleweeds of golden retriever fur under the kitchen table. This is why I’m single, I berated myself. Not that there’d be anyone datable over to see it, especially with my reluctance to use dating apps. And Sacramento was a big city, but dating was intimidating enough for me to hesitate in visiting downtown’s gay clubs. Besides, what would I wear?

I stripped out of my slacks and blouse, tossing them into the pile slowly accumulating on one side of my bedroom, and pulled on my comfy stretch pants and a bright pink tank top.

Oh, it was so tempting to collapse onto my side of the bed—avoiding the piles of fur where Franny slept on her side—and browse the internet or read until I fell asleep.

But that was one of the many reasons why I had Frances. Personal accountability. She got me out of the house every day, kept me walking and breathing fresh air.

“Okay girl, where’s your leash?”

The scramble of nails on the fake hardwood floors echoed down the hall as Franny dashed into the kitchen where she likely took position expectantly beneath the row of hooks for her leashes. I pushed feet into worn tennis shoes and picked up my phone. The update was complete, and I reopened my app, tapping past the screen welcoming me and advertising the new raids. The legendary cat Felesana would show up at local parks for me to battle with my friends! Yes, I got it. Show me where the closest one is. I brought up the augmented reality map, my character standing in the middle of the block my apartment complex resided on, and I tabbed over to the nearby raid window.

Franny let out a whine to remind me I hadn’t put on her leash yet, so I obliged her and giggled as her excitement ramped up from an eight to a twenty, all wagging tail and lolling tongue and shivering with eagerness.

“Honey, I’m so glad it’s this easy to make you happy.”

Heaven knew how hard it was to make people happy. “Where’s the product I ordered”—“Annabel, your surveys have come back less than perfect”—”I’m sorry, I can’t date a lesbian who used to date men”—

Yeah. I loved Franny. Dogs were woman’s best friend too. Not just man’s.

I grabbed my phone and my keys and gave Frances a pat.

“Looks like one of these big kitties is at the park three blocks away. Let’s go do our first legendary raid, girl.”
