Now I’m on a quest for revenge against my father. That means hitting him where it hurts—the new fiancĂ© and the son he thinks so much of. Alister Sommers.   Alis is a bleached blond perfectionist thorn in my side who’s used to everything going his way. Grades, money, track—he dominates it all despite his short, insignificant frame.

Was one dad not good enough that Alis had to take mine too?   Soon, we’ll be stepbrothers. Until then, I vow to make his life a living hell. Maybe Dad will regret his terrible mistakes. Maybe he won’t. I know I won’t regret wrecking their lives like they did mine.   I’ll give up everything, even my girlfriend and football, if it means I get a chance for retribution.   It’s reckless and risky, but I don’t have much to lose. The havoc I wreak might ease some of the pain Dad caused my mother. I’m willing to give it a shot.   What starts as a family feud will become a war…one I plan on winning no matter the cost.   There’s only one small problem. I may have underestimated my opponent.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Feuds and Reckless Fury is awesome from the start. This K Webster enemies to lovers tale had me hooked from page one and I couldn't put it down.

Ohhh...I love this story. This is one of those delicious reads that had me all consumed throughout.

Their fathers are long time best friends. But now they are a couple, rocking Canyon's world.

Canyon and Alis hate each other. Canyon's fury at his father is being aimed at Alis and it's war.

Their tale includes plenty of high school antics, including all the dynamics you'd expect.

But the real story is Canyon and Alis. There's so much angry and hatred. There's rage and sadness. There are family issues galore and Canyon is doing nothing but trying to hurt his father.

I effin love this book. Everything about it is awesome and works for me. The emotions are front and center throughout. The hatred. The anger. The lust. The tension. The need. The want. The fear. The devastation. Everything just jumps off the pages.

And man, it's effin hot. There are tons of hot sex scenes, with many of them being exceptionally emotional. Wow. Just wow. The sexual tension and chemistry throughout, and the first times, are amazing.

This story has so damn much going on. Soon to be stepbrothers. A mother who's spiraling. Family tension and issues. Friend problems. A sister caught in the middle. An ex girlfriend who's actually fabulous instead of being a bitch. PTSD. Anxiety.  A stalker. Danger. Action. It's emotionally gripping throughout.

I love it all. Feuds and Reckless Fury is a must read for fans of hot high school romances. K Webster impresses, entertains, and delights throughout. I was on the edge of my seat throughout.

No Good Mitchell by Riley Hart & Devon McCormack

BRODY

A night on the town after a long workweek at my family's distillery should include shots and dancing--not a hot kiss with a handsome stranger. I'm straight...at least, that's what I figured until I find myself locking lips with a sexy city boy. Now all my circuits are going haywire, and the spark that ignites between us makes me even more curious.

Unfortunately, I kissed the one man who's off-limits: Cohen Mitchell--the sole surviving heir to the Mitchell Creek distillery, a rival neighbor my family has feuded with for nearly a hundred years. Until he arrived in town, no one knew there were any Mitchells left. But the business-savvy city slicker has taken an interest in his legacy. Nothing means more to me than my family, so whether I like it or not, I have to keep my hands off the sexy, green-eyed beauty who Big Daddy has not-so-affectionately dubbed that "No Good Mitchell." Problem is: my hands have other plans...

COHEN

I never expected to inherit a distillery from a father I had never known. That's how I find myself in a tiny Georgia town where everyone knows a family history I've been kept in the dark about. The townsfolk all have a different story about my ancestors, with two things in common: illegal activity and Mitchell vs O'Ralley forever.

Maybe I shouldn't like Brody O'Ralley, but I didn't grow up with this stupid family feud. I enjoy touching him, kissing him and--oops--I'm falling for the man with sweet Southern charm and a big heart. Between the O'Ralley patriarch hating me, getting the Mitchell Creek distillery off the ground, and working through my own family issues, I know I should stay away from Brody.

But I won't, and staying away is not what he wants either. I crave all the time with my country boy as I can get, even if it's breaking the rules. After all, I am a No Good Mitchell.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

No Good Mitchell is a fantastic small town romance by Riley Hart and Devon McCormack. These two can do no wrong when working separately or together.

It's hard to explain how damn wonderful this book is. This isn't just a romance. Not at all. Instead, it's a tale of family, heartache, wounds, and love. It's a story of things discovered as a result of love. Yes, love is the guiding factor, but it's all about the family dynamics through the years that make this tale so damn messy and addictive.

It's riveting from the start, as Cohen comes to town as the long lost Mitchell boy, aka the No Good Mitchell boy. He never knew his father, always assuming he wasn't loved. But upon returning to the land and business he inherited, his journey is full of discoveries and romance.

The forbidden romance aspect is ever present. If his coming here wasn't complicated enough, Cohen's attraction to Brody just adds to the problems. He and Brody can't keep their hands off one another. But they also can't be together. Their families hate one another and have caused one another pain through the generations. Until Cohen and Brody meet.

Their journey includes the family feud that's fueled by jealous, love, lies, and secrets. It's complicated with multi-layered issues and a whole lot of fear and problems. I find myself both impressed and fascinated by the layers upon layers of history that's unveiled. It's one hell of mess and Cohen has no idea how he fits into everything.

As for the romance, Cohen and Brody are great together, despite everything working against them. Both are just trying to do right, for both themselves and their family legacies. The make for a wonderful, heartfelt couple.

The small town aspect is evident throughout, with everyone knowing everyone else's business. I love that the men can't be seen together in town, unless they want everyone to gossip. That is small town at it's finest.

The secondary characters are plentiful, well developed, and constantly contributing to the storyline. There's lots of banter and gossip to be had. Big Daddy is one of their largest obstacles, but in the end, he is nothing that I expected.

And then there's Isaac. His friendship with Cohen is a thing of beauty. He's always there for him, always supporting him, and ultimately finds some answers for himself. The ending is fabulous and had me cheering!

No Good Mitchell is an amazing tale. This Riley Hart and Devon McCormack collaboration is stellar with it's complexity and the emotional rollercoaster throughout. It's full of sweetness, guilt, and grief, all while keeping things low angst and charming. It's an amazing mix and I can't recommend it enough.

Bookstores, Crushes, and Mortal Enemies by Katie Kaleski

Jackson Hillside just had a meet-cute made for the movies. It could have been truly epic except the other guy, Auggie, spilled coffee all over Jackson’s favorite shoes. Determined to break his streak of bad luck with dating, Jackson goes to a party where he bumps into Auggie again.

Turns out, Auggie’s pretty great, albeit a little clumsy. Things almost look promising until Jackson learns Auggie’s family was responsible for the closing of Jackson’s family’s beloved bookstore.

Jackson doesn’t need Auggie anyway. He has “He Who Writes,” a guy he met on a writing website, and someone he’s really falling for. But things get confusing when Auggie re-enters Jackson’s life, and soon, Jackson might be falling for Auggie, too.
Now, Jackson’s involved with two very different boys, one he can hang out with in real life and one he has never actually met. And, when Jackson finds out the identity of “He Who Writes,” things go from promising to catastrophic.

BOOKSTORES, CRUSHES, AND MORTAL ENEMIES is an LGBTQ+ YA book inspired by You’ve Got Mail.

My Rating - 4 Stars!

Bookstores, Crushes, and Mortal Enemies is an interesting book by Katie Kaleski. I definitely devoured it, but it's hard for me to review. There is plenty I enjoy, but some times I just got bored.

This is a romance that starts with a spilt coffee and ruined shoes. It's a story full of attraction, interest, and a family feud. Auggie and Jackson are two young men from vastly different backgrounds, as one comes from privilege and the other comes from poverty and has no family support. But, more than anything, Jackson was always told to hate Auggie's family.

Both young men have their share of struggles. Auggie's issues surprised me and made him an extremely sympathetic character. As well, Jackson is living a double life. Online he's able to be who he wants to be and pursue his passions.

This is a story that is a nod to "You've Got Mail."
There is a special love of books and bookstores that comes alive through the two main characters as well. If your looking for characters who love and appreciate books, look no further.

I enjoy the writing style and the characters are both fantastic. The author includes some intriguing backstories, and some fun side characters.

Bookstore, Crushes, and Mortal Enemies is a story of forgiveness and acceptance. Katie Kaleski does a wonderful job with this inspiring story of two men discovering their passions and deciding to go after them.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Four Christmases is a fantastic insta-love romance by Nell Iris.

Auden and Porter are neighbors who never took the time to know each other until a random run-in one Christmas. With a family feud between their families, this is the first time they truly talk. What follows is a wonderful story of the two men falling in love despite the issues with their families.

Auden is so darn lovable, as he's understanding and compassionate. Meanwhile, Porter is so wonderfully tender with Auden that the reader can't help but to fall in love with these two. They are cute and adorable together.

Auden's family is one we all want to be a part of. They are loud, fun, and completely awesome. And there's Merry who is absolutely adorable and adds tremendously to the story.

Be warned though that there is abuse and an attack. The hate crime is horrible, but it's quick enough to not be as bad as it could have been.

Their story includes a family feud, homophobia, and all the negatives of living in a small town. Their tale includes a serious topic, but carries a hopeful tone throughout.

The author once again manages to create an amazing short story. This is truly a gift and she has mastered it, never leaving the reader feeling that something is missing. With this book, she treats the reader to a glimpse of four Christmases, updating us about everyone in a fun way.

My favorite scenes are their 1st Anniversary and Molly falling asleep on Auden. Just so much sweetness.

Four Christmases is a wonderful story of forgiveness and making amends. It's perfect when you're in the mood for something tender and sweet that revolves around Christmas.

Nell Iris is a romantic at heart who believes everyone deserves a happy ending. She’s a bona fide bookworm (learned to read long before she started school), wouldn’t dream of going anywhere without something to read (not even the ladies’ room), loves music (and singing along but, let’s face it, she’s no Celine Dion), and is a real Star Trek nerd (“Make it so”). She loves words, poetry, wine, and Sudoku, and absolutely adores elephants!

Nell believes passionately in equality for all regardless of race, gender, or sexuality, and wants to make the world a better, less hateful, place.

Nell is a forty-something bisexual Swedish woman, married to the love of her life, and a proud mama of a grown daughter. She left the Scandinavian cold and darkness for warmer and sunnier Malaysia a few years ago, and now spends her days writing, surfing the Internet, enjoying the heat, and eating good food. One day she decided to chase her lifelong dream of being a writer, sat down in front of her laptop, and wrote a story about two men falling in love.

Nell Iris writes gay romance, prefers sweet over angst, and wants to write diverse and different characters.

Hard Hart (Hart's Bay #1) by E. Davies

Blurb

I felt all wrong until I met you.
Jesse Stone is rebuilding his life. He’s ditched his no-good ex, sworn off men, moved to a new town with his four best friends, and started the pottery business of his dreams. And then he slept with his hunky new neighbor. Oops. Jesse needs to focus on work, but all he can think about is getting Finn between his hands like a perfectly-shaped work of clay.
Trouble just blew into town, and his name is Jesse. Finn Hart knows that pursuing Jesse will ignite old family tensions, but he can’t stay away. The construction foreman has never built a lasting relationship. He’s too busy keeping the peace in a town that was founded by one Hart, but is slowly being strangled by another—Finn’s grandfather.
Finn and Jesse are on the same page: they want to save Hart’s Bay, and it starts by bringing tourists in with Jesse’s new art gallery. But their hearts are bruised, and taking a chance comes with a price. Not everyone in Hart’s Bay wants change. For a few narrow minds, nothing good should come to Finn’s branch of the Harts, and that includes love.
Can love wash away twenty years of bad blood and bring a new dawn for Jesse, Finn, and all of Hart's Bay?
Hard Hart is the first book in the new Hart’s Bay series about a small town full of nosy but well-meaning neighbors and brotherly banter. It’s a standalone novel with a happily-ever-after ending, and plenty of smiles and steam along the way. If that cove could talk… oh boy, has it ever seen things. The second Hart’s Bay novel, Changed Hart, will be released September 3rd, 2019!

Review
My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

Hard Hart is a fun small town romance by E Davies. The start of a new series that takes place in the town of Hart's Bay, I am excited to read more.

After a hot hook-up with a stranger, Jesse and Finn find out they're actually neighbors. Neither had any idea, and never expected to run into one another again. They slowly start to feel connected and feel that something important is happening between them, with things heating up.
Finn's one who's grown up with some tough family issues. His family owns the town. They're homophobic, and there's a long standing family feud that affects him and the town as a whole. Poor Finn is working to improve the run-down town, but his family isn't cooperative. He feels the weight of the town on his shoulders, and doesn't know what to do.

It's so surprise that the author perfectly illustrates a small town atmosphere. Many of his series take place in such settings, as he always describes them well. Including the politics, the issues, the know-it-alls, and the animosity, he excels in drawing the atmosphere. In Hard Hart, I love the founding family aspects, and the family feud, which are just so damn perfect for a small town.

This story includes bullying, vandalism, and harassment. There's some confusion, conflict, fears, and complications. I suspect the family feud issue will continue through the series, or at least some of the series, making for a fun underlying storyline.

I have to admit that it took me a while to get into this book. As this never happened to me before with one of E Davies' books, I kept reading anyway. Thank god I did. The last 2/3 rds of the book pick up a lot, and it's exactly what I was hoping it would be.

Overall, Hard Hart is a tale of standing up for people and doing what's right. It's sweet and heart warming; perfect for when you're in the mood to sit back and fall in love along with the characters. E Davies' writing is always great, with some fantastic men and I'm so excited to see what happens next in this series.

The Heart of Texas in the 1st book in RJ Scott's Texas series.  And what a wonderful series it is!!!

What's not to love:

- A family Feud
- A handsome business and a Beautiful Cowboy

Riley needs to get married.  His father owns Hayes Oil and is passing it onto his sons.  But Riley's portion includes the stipulation that he needs to "marry and stay married for one year to someone he loves." Riley is certainly not ready to settle down, but he is willing to marry Jack for one year.  Why Jack?  Family rivalry, of course, just to piss off dear old dad.

Riley however is not ready for what comes with marrying Jack.  Ends up they have chemistry together.  And start to become friends.

As you read their story, you will fall in love with Riley and Jack.  And you will be entertained by all of the drama around them.
