The Geeky Jock Paradox (College Boys of New Haven #5) by Hayden Hall

Goodreads Link

History will repeat itself if I fall for another straight(ish) guy.

Isaac

When my roommate-to-be opens the door wearing nothing but a wet towel and a smile on his face, I only know one thing for sure: my world is about to be turned upside down.

A wrestling jock, a hottie, and as straight as a plank, Hunter is not the guy I should want. But all the shoulds and shouldn’ts fly out the window when it turns out that Hunter is actually a huge geek and not nearly as straight as I thought.

The fact that my high school crush asked me to wait for him until after college only makes my problems worse. But some terrible timing and an unlocked bedroom door end up being less of a problem than the ticking clock.

Can this college-only fling really be all that I have ever wanted?

Hunter

My new roommate is a total cutie, which is the weirdest way to describe a guy when you’re straight.

The more time I spend with Isaac, the less certain I am about everything I thought I knew. Either I am not myself, or I never have been. The weird thing is, I’ve never felt more alive.

It doesn’t matter, though. A no-good, terrible, horrible guy from his past leads him on with the sweetest promises and I’d be a fool to get involved.

Yet I need to have him, even if it’s for a little while.

The Geeky Jock Paradox is the fifth and final book in the College Boys of New Haven series. It's the perfect match for all fans of college MM romance, high steam and low angst, bisexual awakening, and nerd/jock pairings. It features the sweetest the-right-one-was-there-all-along moment and a very happy ending. All College Boys of New Haven books can be read as stand-alones and in any order.

My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

The Geeky Jock Paradox is the fifth book in the College Boys of New Haven series.

This story is just downright fun and cute.

Hunter and Isaac are both great guys who are easy to invest your emotions in. Hunter's a wrestler who's one of the sweetest jocks you'll meet.

Meanwhile, Isaac is a nerd who's been waiting for his best friend to finish college and finally settle on just him. The boy man just needs to stop waiting and move on.

I love the way Hunter brings Isaac to see himself in a new light. He grows in confidence and self-esteem and it's all beautiful to see.

This is a bisexual, sexual awakening story with a college fling which turns to love. It's all perfectly low angst and enjoyable throughout.

I highly recommend The Geeky Jock Paradox to anyone looking for a nice escape. You won't regret taking the time out of real life to enjoy this Hayden Hall book.

Wrestling With Hope by DH Starr

Blurb

Forced to move from place to place, never setting down roots, robbed Scott Thayer of any thread of stability during his childhood. No matter how hard he tried, he could never please his distant and judgmental father. If his own father couldn’t love him, who could?

Two years after last setting eyes on the man whose approval he’d never win, he’s found a good life, attending college, become a star on the wrestling team, built a home with his lover Derek, and surrounded himself with people who love him.

An unexpected note from his father, saying, “I want to see you,” turns Scott’s world upside down. Why, after all this time, does the man want back into his life, just when Scott’s wounds have begun to heal? Should he risk his happiness and peace of mind to accept the invitation from someone who’d left him so damaged?

Or will he finally find closure and slam the door on his pain and never look back?

Review
My Rating - 4.5 Stars!

DH Starr's Wrestling With Hope is a wonderful continuation of the Wrestling series.  The 5th book in the series, it is easily read as a standalone.

Scott's dating Derek,  but he's still dealing with his own emotional issues. Long estranged from his father, he's still suffering from the effects of this. He feels unworthy, has low self esteem and now his father wants to see him. This brings a whole lot of confusion into Scott's life.

Suddenly facing issues from his past. Soon he's stuck dealing with forgiveness and the knowledge that life is fragile. He embarks on a long and agonizing journey towards reconciliation and healing.

This is a touching story of reconciliation. It's definitely a story of hope, as it explores the power of hope, the strength of hope, and the fear involved with having hope.

Although Scott's interactions with Derek are a large part of this tale, a large focus is on Scott's relationship with his father.

Derek is the one who brought Scott to this place in his life. He's the one that's given him faith and strength. He's the one who truly loves Scott and anchors him. Already an established couple, they continue to be everything for one another. Not a romance per say, this part of their
story involves some family issues, college wrestling, a sick father, and more.

Wrestling With Hope is a great story of hope and second chances. It's a beautiful story of sacrifice, of forgiveness and love. It's a tender tale of reevaluating one's priorities. Now, I'm left hoping that Zane will get a book.

Showing Him the Ropes by Christa Tomlinson

Amazon

I am so glad to have discovered Christa Tomlinson.
I was hooked from the very beginning.
And I cannot wait to see what happens else happens in this series.

Picture the WWE wrestlers and their matches.  That is the equivalent to the world that Christa has created in this series.  I am not a wrestling fan myself, but I am more than familiar with the WWE as my husband and son love it.  But, even if I could not easily imagine this world, I would have still loved this book.

Showing Him the Ropes in Book 1 in Christa's new Champions of Desire series.
What do we get in this book?  Well, besides hot wrestlers and some hot sex, that is.

Chance is a veteran of the wrestling world.
Devin is a newbie.
Devin had watched Chance's career over the years and is a huge fan of him,  and his body.

When Chance gets stuck mentoring the new kid, he is NOT happy about it.
He might find Devin attractive, but he certainly prefers to be on his own and not be stuck with anyone as his shadow.  Shared hotel rooms were not something that Chance was looking forward to experiencing anymore.
But with the shared rooms, they get to know each other better and their mutual attraction is destined to make itself known.
But Chance certainly is not willing to risk the problems that come along with being in a relationship with a fellow wrestler.
Too bad that Devon doesn't care about that.

This is a swoon-worthy story of two completely opposite personalities.
Maybe the fact that they are gruff versus sunshine is what makes their tender moments that much sweeter.

All in all, I have found a great new series to read and a new author to continue to watch.
