Taming Dante (Dante's Infernal #1) by Joel Abernathy

Amazon Link  - Available in KU
Goodreads Link

Keeping up the rock star image ain’t easy, but someone’s gotta show these fakers how it’s done.

Hotel-room-trashing tantrums?

Check.

Daddy issues galore?

Check.

Glitz, glamour and general debauchery?

I wrote the f**king book.

I’m a textbook bad boy rockstar cliche, and I’ve never claimed to be anything else.

Hell, I own it.

At least, I did, until he came along: Mr. Self-Righteous who acts more like a priest than a drummer. Now he’s my bodyguard and the guy in charge of making sure I don’t OD before the tour ends.

Oh, right. I also have a crazy stalker who’s been obsessed with me since I was a kid. So that’s fun.

It doesn’t take long to figure out Cash is more of a danger than any freak with a shrine of me in his closet, and he’s way harder to shake. He’s managed to convince our band manager (AKA, the crappiest father ever) that he’s the only one who can protect me from my stalker and my own vices.

Cash thinks I’m stuck with him while he forces me to get clean, but what starts out as a Daddy/boy roleplay meant to freak him out turns into so much more than a game.

For the first time ever, I don’t know who’s going to win, but I’m not going down without a fight.

-

My new job is a nightmare.

The name of that nightmare? Dante Jung, lead singer of the world-famous band Dante’s Infernal, living trainwreck, and all-around brat.

His manager hired me to be the new drummer for Dante’s Infernal--since the singer has run everyone else off--and his undercover bodyguard.

The only problem is, I’m pretty sure Dante is more of a threat to himself than even his obsessed stalker. He drinks hard, parties harder, and he’s never turned down a lovesick groupie.

And there are a lot of those.

Dante is a brash, selfish, narcissistic douchebag. And he’s also a brilliant, devoted and passionate musician who can be unexpectedly vulnerable at times.

When he asks me to be his “Daddy” for the month we’re stuck together, I’m shocked, but not for the reasons he thinks.

Taming Dante is going to be one hell of a challenge, but he will break before I ever back down, no matter how undisciplined he is now.

He doesn’t know what he’s in for, but he’s about to learn.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Taming Dante is an awesome rocker romance that definitely hits on the messed up part of fame. The first book in Joel Abernathy's Dante's Infernal series, it is fabulous.

From the first page, this one grabbed my attention and I couldn't put it down. Dante's a famous rock star who's drug addiction has him hitting rock bottom. Enter Cash, a bodyguard sent to save him.

With Cash taking control of Dante, trying to rehab him and turn his life around, the fun starts. That's right, ends up that Daddy play/age play helps tame the man.

Their tale is hot, as well as emotional. I love seeing the lines blurb and absolutely love the steamy sex scenes. For me though, my favorite is the age play, as that is my guilty pleasure in romances.

This is a story with a controlling, vile father/manager. Drake is the perfect evil character, and my heart hurt for Dante. It's a story with plenty of danger, with a stalker running loose, and I enjoyed it all.

Taming Dante is a thrilling mix of action, danger, romance, and emotion. Joel Abernathy had me obsessed throughout and I
love the ending. Every single thing about this book worked for me. I can't wait to see what happens next in the series.

Beneath the Stain (Beneath the Stain #1) by Amy Lane

Blurb

In a town as small as Tyson, CA, everybody knew the four brothers with the four different fathers-- and their penchant for making good music when they weren't getting into trouble. For Mackey Sanders, playing in Outbreak Monkey with his brothers and their friends—especially Grant Adams--made Tyson bearable. But Grant has plans for getting Mackey and the Sanders boys out of Tyson, even if that means staying behind.

Between the heartbreak of leaving Grant and the terrifying, glamorous life of rock stardom, Mackey is adrift and sinking fast. When he's hit rock bottom, Trav Ford shows up, courtesy of their record company and a producer who wants to see what Mackey can do if he doesn't flame out first. But cleaning up his act means coming clean about Grant, and that's not easy to do or say. Mackey might make it with Trav's help--but Trav's not sure he's going to survive falling in love with Mackey.

Mackey James Sanders comes with a whole lot of messy, painful baggage, and law-and-order Trav doesn't do messy or painful. And just when Trav thinks they may have mastered every demon in Mackey's past, the biggest, baddest demon of all comes knocking.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Amy Lane's Beneath the Stain has long been on my to-be-read list. With the second book, Paint It Black releasing, I am finally diving into this rocker romance.

Mackey and his band were mere boys when they started playing a lot of gigs.

Learning of Mackey's past, and his budding relationship with Grant, ultimately brought tears to my eyes. Grant's beard made me so upset for Mackey, a bringing me to tears. And Grant's fear of his father finding out his secret is understandable, as well as heart-wrenching.

The author spends a lot of time exploring Mackey's youth, the band's beginnings, and Mackey's heartbreak. The secrets, the hiding, the pressure on Grant to marry a girl, all nearly killed Mackey. God, my heart broke for young Mackey.

As the band signs a contract and moves away, the money flies and Mackey struggles with this new life. And, omg, the downfall into drugs near killed me.

What a rollercoaster of a life for Mackey. Everything is such a damn struggle, with his life full of pain, fear, guilt, and shame.

Be warned that their is a rape scene. Avoid if that's a trigger for you.

It's a story of living with and facing past pains and hurt. And ultimately, it's a strong and worthy story of longing and healing.

The writing is spectacular, with complex characters, a multi-layered story, and every damn word being important. It's long and full of emotions. I loved it. Loved it all!

Wow, Beneath the Stain is seriously one hell of an emotional ride. First love, homophobia, fame, drugs, rehab, more love, and making amends. It's all there, and it's all absolutely amazing. I can't praise Amy Lane enough for this gem.

For Social Sinners’ drummer, Ethan “Diamond” Taylor, everything that went wrong seemed to roll off him and life was about having fun and getting off. What others never saw was what simmered beneath the surface.

Holding on by a string, things have reached their breaking point, taking a turn for the worse, and he’s forced to make some tough decisions. Is living in the limelight all that it’s cracked up to be? Or is it time to cut the cord and move on?

Is it in the cards for him to have the whole marriage, white picket fence, a desk job and…kids?

Diamond’s story is one of strength, love, loss and hope.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Beyond the Curtain, the fourth book in TL Travis' Social Sinners series, is an amazing addition to this rocker romance series.

There are so many things to love about Diamond's story. It's everything I've been hoping for and more. One can't help but to fall for Diamond, as well as the non-rocker version of him, Ethan. He's had a lot to deal with, and a lot to overcome.

Full of highs and lows, Diamond's story's extremely emotional and will leave you staying up late into the night. His relationship with Easton is one I couldn't help but to root for. They love fiercely and they love hard.

This story involves some super hot moments, including some exhibitionism and
voyeurism. There's some fun BDSM, including some sexy biting.

The lows include some serious moments of depression and PTSD. The author explores mental illness and the struggles with rehab. It's raw, real, and a tough read at times.

Of course, we get a whole lot of time with the entire Social Sinners band, both the good and bad. I seriously love all of these men!

Beyond the Curtain is a fantastic story of fighting for the one who completes you, of fighting the mental demons of depression and lack of self worth. TL Travis packs a lot into this tale and it's wonderful! If you haven't read this series yet, why? Start now.
