GRL 2019 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT - Ride: The Chance of a Lifetime by B.L. Maxwell

In my attempt to cover some of the attending authors for this year's GRL,
I am reviewing

?????!

BLURB

Kace Hallard leaves Sacramento, bound for the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, something he and his father had always planned to do together. When his father realizes he won’t be able to make the trip, he makes Kace promise to go on his own.
He takes off, not sure he’s up to the challenge. When he has mechanical trouble a few hours away from home, he questions his choice even more.
Striker Johnson is just out buying lunch for the guys at the shop when he notices the handsome stranger in the parking lot checking over his Harley and looking confused. He approaches him and offers his help.
The next few hours fly by, and Kace asks Striker to join him.
It’s the trip of a lifetime for them both, one man looking to ease his grief, the other riding toward emotions he has no hope of controlling. One way or another they’ll have to decide if they ride together or separately, when life throws them one more curve.

REVIEW
My Rating - 5 Stars!

BL Maxwell's Ride is a wonderful read.

Kace's reason for the road trip is bittersweet, starting the book off on a tender note. As his bike breaks down, he meets Striker and spends some time with him. Immediately the connection is strong, and the attraction is even stronger. Soon the two are off on the ride of a lifetime together.

Their story is one of healing, of getting a chance to enjoy life. Their story is one of fulfilling a promise and saying goodbye. Kace and Striker are incredibly adorable and romantic together.

I love the tone of this book, and the flow. It sucked me in from the start and kept me intrigued throughout. The author writes with great descriptions of the scenery, while never overdoing the details. I could feel everything along with the men and felt like I was with them.

I definitely enjoyed every second of Ride. BL Maxwell managed to create a sweet romance with a meaningful, emotional adventure.

BL Maxwell

BL Maxwell grew up in a small town listening to her grandfather spin tales about his childhood. Later she became an avid reader and after a certain vampire series she became obsessed with fanfiction. She soon discovered Slash fanfiction and later discovered the MM genre and was hooked.
Many years later, she decided to take the plunge and write down some of the stories that seem to run through her head late at night when she's trying to sleep.

Whiskey Throttle by Riley Hart

Blurb

Lincoln
I’ve done a good job getting over my past. I’m not only proud of who I am, but revel in it. Still, I don’t let myself get too close to people. With closeness comes questions and those pesky feelings, and I’m having none of that. I’ve got a great job, friends, I’m cute and twinky, and my bed’s never empty. What more do I need? Except I can’t stop sleeping with Rush Alexander. I try, I really do, but I just can’t stay away, and that, ladies and gentlemen, is stressing me out. Rush has the power to hurt me—something I swore I’d never let happen again. Unfortunately, things become a little more complicated when I tell a white lie that lands me in a fake relationship with him. Yeah, not my best moment.

Rush
I’ve always been an easygoing guy and don’t let many things get to me. I’ve worked hard to make my dream of becoming a professional motocross racer come true, and everything else is icing on the cake. Like Lincoln Gray, for example. I need to tread carefully, even though I want more from him than our occasional hookups. If I give what we have too much throttle, we’ll crash and burn. But when Linc accidentally announces we’re boyfriends in front of my mom, the race is on. First, I have to show him there’s more between us than the way we burn up the sheets together. When Linc finally trusts me in ways he doesn’t anyone else, there’s no turning back. I’m a firm believer that nothing worth having comes easily, and Lincoln Gray is worth it all.

My Rating - 5 Stars!

lt shouldn't come as any surprise, but damn, I love this book. Whiskey Throttle, by Riley Hart, is a stunning friends to lovers romance.

One thing that sets this story apart from most friends to lovers story is that Lincoln and Rush are friends with benefits at the beginning of the book. Downright hot together, the two break things off at Linc's request when he feels they're getting too close.

The feelings of each man are deeply developed, drawing the reader right into their emotions. Lincoln's fear is deeply rooted, leaving him unable to commit to anyone, setting up the basis for this story.

As for Rush, he's long been in love with Linc, and is willing to wait for Linc to be ready. Swoon. I just love and adore Rush. And it's downright tender and inspiring the way he helps Linc to believe in himself, as well as in love.

"You make me vulnerable, Rush Alexander, and I don't like it. I don't like it at all."

Their story is hot, the emotions are high, and the chemistry is off the charts. I love the depth of these men, the depth of their friendship, and the depth of their bond. They balance one another so damn well, each are just perfect together.

Their relationship includes insecurities and family drama. There's plenty of good angst and fantastic character growth from beginning to end.

In usual Riley Hart fashion, Whiskey Throttle is a wonderfully emotional romance. Set in the world of Riley Hart and Devon's McCormick's Fever Falls series, it is just perfectly emotional and enjoyable.

RELEASE BLITZ & REVIEW - Moved By You by Ann Lister

Exclusive to Amazon and Available to Borrow with Kindle Unlimited

Length: 67,000 word approx.

Blurb

Vance feels trapped. He never cared about his family’s wealth and prestige, but he finds himself pinned in place by the weight of his father’s expectations. Vance would much rather sweat in his studio creating metal sculptures with his blow torch than take any kind of position at the family firm. When pressure from his father mounts, Vance is torn between going with the flow or making waves. But everything changes when Vance hits a bike messenger with his car.

Kyle has drifted through his life with a massive chip on his shoulder against the privilege that’s always been just out of reach. His job as a bike messenger doesn’t help. He’s stuck delivering packages to the very elites he loathes. When Vance crashes into Kyle, they’re suddenly thrust onto different paths than they ever expected. But can they take this new path together, or will egos and societal privilege create too many obstacles to overcome?

My Rating - 5 Stars!

Ann Lister's Moved By You is a fantastic romance. A rich guy falling for a bicycle messenger? Hell, yes! This beauty is full of multi-layered characters and a wonderful storyline.

The two men appear to be complete opposites, but have way more in common than they could have ever guessed. I absolutely love the way they come together and influence one another. They come from two vastly different worlds, and are two extremely different men, but they work so darn well together.

Vance, oh how I adore Vance. His sculptures sound fascinating, and I love the growth he experiences throughout the book. He has a lot to deal with, but shows amazing strength with Kyle's help.

Kyle is fun from the get go, as we see him instantly on edge with Vance. Kyle's never been interested in guys, but he starts finding the relentless Vance intriguing. He's such an interesting man. I enjoyed the hostility that rolled off Kyle immediately, as well as the tender side of him that gradually shows. His artistic side is also fascinating, and I enjoy their mutual love of art.

This is a story of finding one's dreams and passions and figuring out a way to pursue them. It's about the beauty of living on your own terms and doing what makes you happy. It's a story of putting pretenses aside, and getting to know a person on the deeper level. And it's all beautifully delivered.

And, of course, Ann Lister can always deliver some steamy scenes.

Moved By You is an inspirational story of courage and embracing own's passions. It's definitely a slow burn, enemies to lovers tale.
